I'm not sure if the powder really makes much of a difference, but then again, it somehow makes the crepe look a bit more sophisticated. It was also my first time to try their Cafe Liegeois (pronounced Lee-Jwah), containing cold espresso, coffee ice cream, whipped cream, and chocolate syrup. It's basically a coffee float of sorts and it was fairly good. It went well with my crepe but either of the two can actually stand alone.

Cafe Breton has a lot to offer but in all honesty, the only reason we go to Cafe Breton is for the desert. They have a lot of desert crepes to offer. My particular favorite is the Tarzan. It's this simple crepe of banana and condensed milk. I then order it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. By the time I'm done eating the crepe, a lot of the ice cream would have melted. The combination of the vanilla ice cream, butter, and condensed milk leaves this really sweet syrup in my plate that I like to scoop up and sip using my spoon. Try doing the same when you're here, it's fantastic and cheaper than some of the stuff you'll see on their menu.

Salisbury steak won my heart over. The tenderness of the meat topped with the right mix of thick gravy. Plus, there is a bowl of mixed carrots and corns on the side. It is something I can eat everyday. Original serving price is P255 and we saved a bucks and a cup of ice tea by acquiring the promo! We also ordered a bowl of mashed potatoes that complements well with the salisbury. The establishment is along tomas morato. Interiors are clean and cozy with well-trained staff. Pancake House is not just merely a go-to breakfast place but a nearby hub for a casual lunch or dinner. There is also a provision of ample parking space. And when one of them opened in the ground floor of my condo, how could I resist? Ah, how horrible to have high expectations only to have it crushed to bits by overwhelmingly mediocre pancake batter. That's right. For all the hype I've seen on social media, Slappy Cakes' pancakes do not live up to their name. I've tried to order one of their breakfasts as well, and the daing na bangus (smoked milkfish?) arrived to my table stone cold, the garlic rice undercooked-- or had the same consistency of refrigerated rice that wasn't refried properly. An overwhelmingly disappointing experience. Ah well, it just teaches us to be more discerning next time and not be blinded by picturesque photos on Instagram.

There is no secret really, simply put, they serve the best tasting chicken ever at the most affordable cost. The roasted chicken is simply so tasty, in fact you can even eat it on its own without the gravy! They also have this best-selling quarter chicken combo with customizable rice selection! The Bugong physical restaurant now gives this very class vibe, serving various Asian-inspired dishes. They cater mostly to office workers because of the quick service and affordable selections! The turnover in their restaurants are really quick, however it still gets really full during peak hours. Ever since I first tried the Bugong chicken, it has now stuck with me and I would always consider this a classic. It's definitely your go-to, healthier option for lunch on a busy working day!

It was the younger of my two daughters who alerted us about this new place that served breakfast…read moremeals all day. It's called The Wicked Waffle, she told us, and she added that she had tried it out one time and enjoyed it. We should go, she said, and that's exactly what we did not too long ago. With such a name, I safely presumed that this place would serve waffles. Actually, the place serves all kinds of breakfast grub. Since I work extremely odd work hours -- my main employer is based in the States and I have to follow US West Coast time a couple of days a week -- I welcome the thought of having a really heavy breakfast just before or right after a hard day's work. Also, because I've always considered breakfast as my favorite meal of the day, having it anytime is a terrific plus. One thing though: I think a place like this would succeed if it were located near a call center. Unfortunately, there aren't any in our neck of the woods. Still, there are probably a lot of people like me who hanker for breakfast foods at any hour of the day. It's good to have a place like this in Better Living.

I have heard…read morethat this cafe serves hot chocolate that is on par with the world famous Angelina café in Paris--which I have also tried and yelped. We were greeted and were ushered to a table. It was hot inside. Unpleasant-temp wise. A big gaudy fan was inside blowing hot air and was not helping at all. Tables were decorated with letters to Mary Grace--who apparently is an actual person. A very nice touch in terms of decor. We came before lunch and were not particularly hungry so we ordered a sponge cake, the hot chocolate and 2 fruit shakes for our party of 4. The hot chocolate was good same consistency and same great taste as the one from Angelina's so the reviews were accurate. I waited for my mango shake. Waited. And waited still. It has been more than 30 mins so we asked for the status on those shakes. The server obviously forgot because we saw her just about to make them. Thats a 2 star deduction. All in all experience was okay at this branch. Might want retrain servers on order read back for accuracy.

It was easy to pick out your desired breakfast dish among the menu. There's at least one from each country tagged as Flavors From Around The World. There's French, American, Norwegian and Swiss! And of course, how could we forget about our Filipino favourites? There's arroz caldo, tapa, longganisa and bangus among those that you could choose from. And don't forget to try out their champorado (P180)! I'm a sucker for champorado so it was a treat to have their own take with it adding kesong puti and gourmet tuyo in the mix! A lot of the food they serve are around the P180-P250 range. The only pricey dish on their menu was their Swiss breakfast dish at P410. It comes with Crispy Potato Rosti and Smoked Salmon. You can also enjoy your breakfast food at any time of the day with beer! I know. I know. A bit odd for some but those two B's sure know how to knock your socks off. I want to come back one of these days just to try out the other selections. I've only tried two so far! It's not that far from where I work so it's easier to pop in every now and then. The road constructions along Hoover and Argonne (and the ones near Guevarra's) might throw you off though. Waze wasn't a huge help either but if you see an auto-detailing shop at the corner of Hoover and Argonne, you're on the right track. It's right beside it and Toast's very New York loft exterior won't be hard to miss anymore!

One of my favorite breakfast food haunts would be Kanto Freestyle Breakfast. Very laidback kasi ang Kanto - no extravagant wall art or super plush couches to sit on. My favorite would be their tapsilog and tocilog rice dishes plus their pancakes! Sobrang saraaaaap and sobrang busooooog! Blueberry pancakes are super delicious, cannot stop getting these! Kanto also serves cereals, although I feel it's a bit too pricey for me. Parang ako nalang ako bibili ng cereals at gagawa sa bahay if I wanted that. But then again, whatever floats your boat!
