I went here with friends and we got a booth upstairs. It wasn't too loud so I was able to get some studying done. I ordered an iced hazelnut latte and it was good! Maybe kind of pricey it was 160P. Didn't try the food but the cakes are 100 plus for a slice. Come here for the studying environment. It is very cute. I was here on a Friday night and it wasn't completely packed. Hopefully I can go here earlier in the day so I can really study all day here. It is open until 3am! My issue is that there is no wifi...only good thing is that less distractions but sometimes you just need some good wifi while studying. Excited to come back here and study even more :)

But what I love about this cafe is their booths for seating. If you are fond of sitting in the floor or lying down, then this place is for you! It's a great place to hang out with your friends, chill and it is also a great place for study. They have ample electric outlets which make them also a great place to work or charge your gadgets. One downside is that they don't have wifi, which is one of the things I consider for a perfect hangout place. But if you do want to really talk and hangout with your friends, this will be a good place for you.

People around Metro Manila are drawn to coffee shops like flies to manure. That said, most of them…read moreare s#!t. Sad to admit but true. That's because most of them try to be something that they're not, which is of course Starbucks. Few cafes out there establish their own identity. Few cafes in Metro Manila can stand out from the competition without emulating Starbucks. Cafe UK is a part of the few. A local favorite among the people in P. Noval, Cafe UK never fails to draw a crowd each day. A crowd mostly made up of students. The students love it here. Great ambiance, good food and coffee, nice staff and free Wi-Fi are just a few of the reasons why this place has become a regular on many people's place to chill. I'm pretty sure the guy who owns this place knows his target market. I mean, the way this place feels and how it's setup is just so right for students. It's tailor made to appeal to that kind of demographic. The branch here in P. Noval looks a bit tight and cramped. What it lacks in floor area it makes up for with the number of floors. In a way though, I actually liked the cramped space of this cafe. It forces people to be close and conversations are more likely to be intimate and engaging that way. Cafe UK is sweet. It draws students are drawn to it like flies are to honey. A warning though, be sure to bring a jacket. The place can get really cold especially at night.

As a law student, finding a great coffee shop where I can hunker down and study in comfort is a…read moremust. Cafe-UK should be the poster child for the kind of place I'm talking about. Cafe-UK is one of those cafes that manages to establish it's own identity able to set itself apart from the generic or those that aspire to be a copycat of Starbucks. They have tea, coffee, juice, and a wide variety of American canned drinks that you won't find in your local grocery. There's a lot of food to choose from. They're a bit pricey, but the size and the taste will more than make up for it. Cafe UK has some of the best cakes I've ever had. Their cakes come in the form of a slice or a mini cake. I love the fact that they offer several kinds of cheesecake with the triple chocolate cheesecake being my favorite, I mean it's cheesecake and chocolate come on! Cafe UK is open 24 hours, and becomes a great places to study at around nine in the evening. Things are quiet at this hour up to around ten in the morning the following day, at which point it becomes a melting pot for the different students from the different schools that populate Mendiola. Wi-fi is free, which is probably another reason why so many students love to congregate at this awesome cafe. The biggest quirk that this cafe has that I don't find anywhere else are the free to use iPads. Never have I walked into a cafe that has free to use iPads, These iPads are ingeniously built into the table, I often find students spending a lot of their time drinking their orders and playing the latest games on Cafe UK's tablet. Free WiFi, excellent food and drinks, wonderful prompt service, and the tablets allows Cafe UK to deliver a great experience. Go for a visit sometime and I promise you that it'll be time and money well spent.

After glancing over the menu, we placed our order and the food arrived just a few minutes later. Among the many dishes that we ordered, the xiao long bao (soup dumplings) were among my favorite. The food was fresh and perfectly seasoned, and the portions were generous. Each dish was only about ₽200-₽300 each - a bargain! If you ever find yourself in Manila's bustling Chinatown, be sure to stop by the Mezzanine Cafe to refill your tank!

We had the following items: -Lechon Kawali -Kiampong -Beef Wanton Soup -Miki Bihon Overall, I thought most of the items were fine, but not necessarily fantastic. The Kiampong and Beef Wanton Soup were probably my favorite dishes since they were unique and something you probably wouldn't find in typical Chinese menus. The Lechon Kawali was probably the most disappointing dish since I'd heard it was excellent and it tasted very basic to me. The ambiance is very casual and the service was not particularly attentive. I wasn't terribly impressed by Cafe Mezzanine, but it was fine. You should really go with a group of people so you can try many dishes to explore the various flavors...also, I'd suggest going for the Chinese-Filipino dishes since those are much more unique.

Would not go back here…read more Poorly trained staff. We ordered Tournedo Rossini in Madeira Sauce: Seems they didn't know how to thaw meat properly - the steak is very dry and with no flavor this can only happen if the meat is thawed submerged in water (yuck!!) The steak is unseasoned (take note, it's UNSEASONED NOT UNDERSEASONED!!) and has a bitter taste to it - you can taste the bitterness of the unclean pan where they were cooked (yuck!) The madeira sauce, looks and tastes like gravy! so sweet and has no madeira flavor into it. They should have called it Tournedo Rossini with Chicken Gravy!! The tenderloin is improperly butchered! it looks like a little kid sliced into it before it was cooked! They shouldn't have asked for steak doneness if they can't do it properly! We ordered 5 rossinis, 4 medium and 1 well done - Lo and behold, all our steaks are Well done, very dry, with a yucky flavor!! Where does Cafe Ysabel find their cooks? I can't call them chefs since it would be a disgrace to professional chefs when they can't cook a simple steak properly!! We also ordered pasta, they were served COLD!! WTF! We were there for more than 30 minutes before we were given the bread with the balsamic vinaigrette - and take note they wouldn't have given it if I did not demanded for it 5 times!! The appetizer was served after 1 hour!!! Considering we just ordered a serving of gambas (though tasty, i think it was tasty because we were STARVING by the time it was serverd) - and as always - THE FOOD WAS SERVED COLD!!! WTF!!! After an hour and a half, the pasta that we ordered was finally served COLD!! it was underseasoned ( I think they ran out of salt in their kitchen). We ordered the Prawns thermidor - OMG! It was so pricey at 600+ for 3pcs of medium sized prawns!! Yes, it's still underseasoned. We paid all in all 12,000 pesos for a very unappetizing, disappointing, waste of money meal here. The steaks were so bad, we did not finish any of them - SUCH A WASTE OF MONEY!! I WILL NOT RETURN HERE - AND I ADVISE EVERYONE TO REFRAIN FROM EATING HERE : Untrained and unfriendly waiters, Untrained Cooks, and Unappetizing waste of money food!!
