We made the journey up to Santa Tereza on a Wednesday afternoon with a plan: hit 3 bars, Santa Tereza hotel and then go to Lapa. Simplismente was the last of the 3 bars and easily our favorite. So good that we skipped Santa Tereza Hotel and opted to stay here longer. The drinks are such a fair price! A caipirinha for R$12? That is like 4 bucks! The service is great and people are friendly--this place draws a good crowd. It has a rustic, hipstery feel to it. We really enjoyed ourselves. The only thing they could work on, is their 'healthy menu'. They have pizza that looks amazing but really the only thing on the menu for me was an omelette and that isn't exactly what I want to be eating at night. Good thing I was just there for some drinks ;)

Somewhere where we could have a drink, hear each other talk without yelling, and have the space to lounge a little bit. If you're looking for that kind of night, you can't go wrong with Bar do Adao.

It came with French fries, white rice, black beans and a salsa mid woot tomato and onion and a little more. Returned for dinner. We had the Picanha brasileira again and the Costela de Adão which was very much like our BBQ ribs. The meat fell of the bones and it was served with a big bowl of white rice and French fries. Both were outstanding. I also tried a Brasilian wheat beer, Colorado Appia. Excellent as well. Needless to say I'd go back again because we did!

I ordered the Simple Omelet with a double espresso. To be honest, I wasn't quite sure what was in a Simple Omelet, but figured why not. Turned out to be quite good...filled with onions, ham, cheese and I think chives. It was also huge so come hungry! It was a bit salty, but had a lot of flavor and very well could be one of the best omelets I have had! (Vegas) B.G. is just one of the bars in this Baixo Gavea area that is part of a Mardi Gras-like street party and it's unlike anything you've probably ever seen if you're from the US. B.G. is not only the bar in the midst of this madness that I remember most clearly, but it's the one that had the quickest bathroom/bar lines and that's a big deal when you're at this amazing street party.
