One star cause I had to choose but what horrible customer service. Nobody ever said or asked "is regular milk ok?" So when I noticed them making the coffee and using real milk I said can you please use half and half cause we can't do regular milk, she said well it's going to be an extra charge and I said for half and half? And they literally charged me 2.35 for half and half. Then to top it off tamales were disgusting and dry and cold. I guess that's what I get for giving places like this a second chance. We have been coming here since March and we even ordered our mini bolillos for our wedding from here. Let me tell you, everyone loved them! We typically come here often for the Torcidos (it's a bolillo stuffed with queso and either jalapeño or chorizo). We also usually get licuados as well to accompany our bread. Today, we decided to try out their menudo and it was delicious. We got a large thinking we would be able to finish it but they fill it up to the rim! I used to love this place when I was in high school. I'd go for their boba smoothies often after school was out. This year I stopped going here though, as the service I received one Sunday morning was just honestly off putting enough to keep me away. I came with my brother to get some pan dulce and smoothies for him, my mother, and myself. We picked our bread and paid. I feel like it's relevant bc of the service we received so I will add that my brother and I are both half white and half Mexican, and both speak very little Spanish. I have been teased for it a lot, I'm not too sure about him. We stepped a little away from the line to wait for our smoothies, and I took notice of three employees, one of whom I believe may be a manager, who looked at us as if we were out of place or doing something wrong. We were waiting nearly 10 minutes for our smoothies. At some point one of the employees who looked at us whispered to another who had looked at us, the one I presumed was the manager, while still looking in our direction. The (assumed) manager then walked to us, and asked us what we were waiting for, as if we were lost or bothering someone. I was holding my bag and receipt, and replied that I was waiting for my smoothies. They hadn't even attempted to make them. They were then rushed out in 2 minutes, and the manager (?) basically shoved them at us, as if trying to shoo us away as quickly as possible. A lot of the black boba in my smoothie was also hard, as if it wasn't cooked right. The customer service was just enough to turn me off. I don't want to go somewhere and feel like I'm doing something wrong or feel intentionally outcasted. There are better Panaderías around Avondale that would appreciate my time a lot more than it seems this place would. read more

I had ordered a cake in July 2023, paid full price ahead of time instead of paying a deposit because i thought hey why not? which was around $50 dollars by the way for a medium round cake,super simple design. the guy who took notes on what i wanted the cake to look like was very polite and helpful (5 stars for him only) i even checked the notes & left the place feeling very confident about what the results would turn out to be. so i picked up the cake,monday july 24, the place was empty & some girl was at the cashier and i told her what i was there for. once she brought the cake out which was already in a box i asked her if i could see it and when she opened the box i noticed that one letter of the name was wrong. i immediately felt unhappy because it was clearly written on the notes correctly and legible as well. i told the girl and she instantly said she couldn't do anything about it. i told her that is not what i paid for and that it was clearly written on the notes, she then went to grab the notes to compare the spelling and saw what i was saying. she again said she cannot fix it because the cake decorator was not there. she just sounded like she didn't care and simply wasn't going to do anything at all. i then asked to speak to a manager which was a lady and i explained the situation and again they immediately said nothing could be done. my boyfriend was with me and he suggested to get some icing to fix the letter. the lady said it would ruin the whole cake if she did that. in my opinion she just didn't want to do anything and felt like it wasn't her problem. my boyfriend then said he would fix it himself, the lady went to make some similar looking icing color for my boyfriend to fix this letter because apparently the girl nor the lady could do it. the girl was all smiley when my boyfriend would say something but when i spoke to her she was rude and had no feelings into what she was saying. after my boyfriend attempted to fix it she was saying it looked good and she had a smile on her face.. he didn't say anything to her. that's so unprofessional, the girl didn't want to try and fix the cake but tried to get attention?? what a weirdo. anyways he literally had to do the simplest thing they could've done. they only acted like that because i had already paid full price for it ahead of time obviously they already had my money they didn't care about anything else. if i would've paid the deposit im pretty damn sure they would've fixed it in order for me to pay the rest of the money for the cake. it was a snow white cake with one incorrect letter im sure they could've fixed the incorrect "i" letter to be an "o" letter. literally so ridiculous i would expect some kind of apology or attempt to do something to help, they were so carefree and gave off the "this isn't my problem" feeling. * pay a deposit and see how they act when they mess up your cake but want you to pay for it. read more

Fantastic little Mexican bakery serving loads of goodies. The front counter is filled with churros, cookies and drinks and the side cabinet is stacked high with the largest and most decadent slices of cake I've ever seen. I picked up two pecan cookies as well as cinnamon sugar mini cookies today. Next time, I'm definitely getting a papaya licuados and a giant slice of the pineapple cake. The pan dulce is always so moist and fresh and I anticipated I would get that same quality in a cake, unfortunately I was wrong. People work hard for their money and to allow this to represent your quality is troublesome and you need to hire a quality assurance baker. This place is very nice and has a large menu of items to try. I only tried a couple things I will have to go back to try more. I've been to this place twice. Pastries are delicious. Firs visit they were pretty busy and I had ordered a mango diablito which cashier took my order but another girl prepared it and when it was done she just left it on the counter. I wasn't sure if it was mine until 5 minutes of no one claiming it I had to ask if it was mine which the girl had no idea so she had to confirm with cashier. My second trip was during the week around 2:00pm and there were only 2 other customers there. I went in to grab some pastries and first door there were a couple of fruit flies flying near the bread. Third door had a black fly on a piece of bread. I grabbed some pastries from another door and when I was paying I told the cashier about the fly. She went over and threw out the piece where the fly was sitting on. I understand it's hard to control these pests but it was an unpleasant surprise lol. I will be back but from now on early in the morning when bread is fresh. read more
