Their bread is good, but the only issue I see is cashier's need to be more friendly. This cashier acted like we were getting free bread!

I finally decided to head out to north county to try these since I do follow this business social…read moremedia and I was not disappointed at all!! Things bought: Raspados (1 fresas cremosas and 1 strawberry), elotes puercos, equites, and some pan). Food: Raspados flavors were really good and not watered down at all. What I liked about these raspados was that the ice doesn't melt fast and nice ice texture unlike other spots I've tried in SD county. The esquite has been one of the best I've ever found here in SD county (I've tried so many trying to find the right one since moving here 9 yrs ago!). Fresh corn, perfect amount of cheese with great taste, and just delicious. Elotes puercos had this sauce that I wish it was offered in the esquites as a flavor. PLEASE NEVER CHANGE THE RECIPE of this sauce!!! I tried 3 different types of pan (cochinito, oreja, and this white yellowish ball). The cochinito had a strong after taste that I didn't enjoy. Oreja was ok and I actually did eat, would of liked more of the glaze on it. The white yellow ball had no flavor at all (I'm assuming it was butter with sugar but still no flavor) but the bread itself was tasteless as well. Ambiance: Pretty clean and organized, bright pretty color tones. Customer service: Was greeted as soon as entering and every employee was very attentive and with a friendly attitude. Great job to all of you! I will definitely come visit again, I don't care that your location is about 1hr away, THIS SPOT IS WORTH IT. Please open one down south area in SD County.

Friendly service. Best raspados around.. hands down . summer is right around the corner! Pull up…read more Estos si son de los mejores para refrescarse

"Boy what you looking for? You know where them cookies are…read moreYeah, I caught yo' ass red-handed in that cookie jar" (Doja Cat) It's a tough call to decide what was better. The incredibly sweet woman behind the counter who helped us with a dessert order for a family dinner for twelve, the sheer beauty and variety of the baked goods in her store, or the 20 amazing cookies we ended up buying. The Carlsbad Bakery has been around for 40+ years specializing in Danish and French pastries, quiche, cupcakes, cakes, and too many eye-popping things to list. We walked over on a Friday and after talking to the proprietor decided that a variety of cookies would be the way to go. What wasn't easy was deciding what type of cookie, because their big chocolate chip, pistachio, almond, cherry, and peanut butter cookies all looked beyond amazing. We decided on a box of 20 mixed cookies ($52.90) and returned the next day to pick them up. My Sweet Lord, the box was as heavy as a bowling ball and was warm with freshly baked cookies. The intoxicating aroma penetrated the carton and filled our hotel room. When they were served at dinner, people's eyes popped out of their heads because they were so gorgeous. I managed to restrain myself and limited my dessert to one pistachio cookie that was fantastic. Of course, all of my cousins wanted to know where we found these amazing cookies. Thank you, Carlsbad Bakery, for such a fantastic customer experience. Your store is beautiful, and your product is extraordinary.

With only fifteen minutes before they closed, we were lucky they had a cake, and the friendly staff were more than happy to write "Happy Birthday" on top. They also had candles for sale. The baked goodies behind the glass looked so good, we also got an eclair and a peanut butter fudge brownie. The cake was delicious - with a layer of cream and strawberries inside, and the eclair was airy and creamy. But that peanut butter fudge brownie was amazing - thick, dense, and full of flavor. If you're ever nearby, stop in a grab a few goodies from VAN DOUGH - you'll be glad you did!

Still, not what it used to be…read more We decided to attempt this once again after avoidance since our miserable last try. New owners? New Chef? This time a Sunday morning around 9:30am, just before the church crowd. Place seemed unusually empty; maybe three customers, some others just getting some pastries in a bag to go. The parking lot was empty as well. Perhaps it gets much busier in another hour. We ordered an omelet with house potatoes, since they 'didn't have' hash browns that were on the menu. We also shared a two-stack of pancakes. Food tasted terrific. My wife keeps talking about those pancakes. The portions were acceptable, as the wife and I shared one plate, a stack of pancakes and a less than truly good chocolate-almond croissant. I do consider the cleanliness and order of the establishment a factor of my experience. Basic stuff, like cleaning the hot sauce bottle caps. Sheesh! Also, why is there a leaf blower in the dining room? The leaf blower stayed right there the entire time we were visiting. I wish I could say this was a great experience, but that experience is still elusive after all these years. CritDicks

It was a flavor bomb. The ratio of espresso to milk and foam was perfect for the cappuccino, and one of the things that I appreciated was that the lid was not plastic; it was made of paper like the cup. I'm a huge fan of the Italian minimalist approach to sandwiches: every ingredient's a shining star, especially the bread. truthly, I'm also a huge fan of the American-style where the filling's supersized and point of the bread's to keep your mits clean. Dolce Aroma's definitely on the less-is-more end of that sammie spectrum. they succeed spectacularly. the wife-unit had the POSILLIPO (prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, arugula, and olive oil on a warm baguette). I had the VESUVIO (prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, Italian cream, fig jam, and arugula on a warm baguette). the bread was perfect with a dense chew. love the sweetness of the cream and fig jam, nice counterpoints to the salty prosciutto and the peppery arugula. thoroughly enjoyed my sandwich. my only gripe is with the price point, an issue I almost never raise. nearly twenty bucks is a lot to spend for a sandwich. the ratio of what you pay for to what you get here's a bit steep. I'm mostly okay with that but be aware.
