They had a couple appealing blackboard specials including a crab bisque soup. We both wound up getting some of this soup. It was thick and very good! My husband got the half sandwich and soup. For his sandwich choice he got roast beef with tomato and onion on rye bread. Except for the edges of the bread being a little tough, he really liked the roast beef. And he liked the crab bisque so much that he got a bowl to go. After my cup of soup, I had their "lazy wings" -- basically chicken tenders. Five large breaded pieces to the order, I got them with teriyaki sauce. They were a bit sticky with a sprinkling of sesame seeds, but very good. It tasted like standard steamed cauliflower and I don't remember what it supposedly came seasoned with, but none of it had flavor. We also got the truffle corn side dish and onion rings. The corn was small bud edible. The onion rings, however, were not. They were SO hard that I couldn't bit into them and when I tried to use a fork and knife it ended up just making a mess. We ended up barely making a dent in both the cauliflower and onion rings and when they took our plates we were honest that both dishes were basically inedible. Now here's what we ordered: Akaushi Hanger Steak: Served with truffle crema, cowboy butter, and tallow-cooked sweet potato frites that melt in your mouth. Crispy, buttery, and the best sweet potatoes ever. I'd return just for this! Berkshire Rib Chop: My husband swapped the broccolini for an assorted carrots with apricot purée, wood-fired onion, and black garlic molasses. We are picky with steak temperatures and had to send ours back, but our waiter (wish I could remember his name) he was amazing and had it remade exactly right. Everything was seasoned perfectly!
