Finally made it down to this 'new' place in Glenelg and so glad I did! Awesome location, good…read moreservice, laid back atmosphere and totally impressive food. The food is all served Tapas style so its best to go with a few mates and all get a little something of the menu. A great addition to the other choices of Jetty Road. Lots of great looking specials too that we were told change daily. Some great drink choices too, includes an extensive wine list and cocktails and sangria. All the beer and cider is served in bottles..... I hope they may get at least one/two tap beers in the future. The greatest thing is the view from the outside seating area at sunset...... fantastic!!

Bay bar don't is more like it. The best thing about the place is it's location with a great view…read more The service was slow and the meal was PAINFULLY slow. My husband and I ordered 5 tapas dishes and two hours later we had only gotten 4 dishes!!! Our parking meter was about to expire so we went to the cashier and said we wanted the bill and to cancel the last dish. Well to our surprise they had forgotten the last dish anyway!! This was after we had waited over an half of hour for the dish and waitress had told us 20 minutes earlier that it was only a few minutes away! This service could be forgiven if the place was really busy but there were only a few people. Another couple was also irate and complaining to the waitress about how long it was taking for a meal. The food, what little we did get, was delicious. But given the small portions and extremely long wait, it just wasn't worth it. I think I saw a few skeletons in the corner still waiting on their meals when we left.

This restaurant was not a good experience, their food took in total two hours between ordering and…read morethe arrival of the dishes. The food was also average, as many of h the meat tapas did not have much meat, but instead was mainly batter. The staff were very inconsiderate, and took away dishes still being eaten because they looked partially empty. In one of the restaurant's specialty tapas, the deep fried fish bites, the layer of batter was about 1 centimetre thick, leaving only about 5 millimeters of meat in the centre. Additionally, later when the food arrived, the manager of the restaurant said that we should have "pre-ordered" our food, while there was no option to do so while over the phone for booking. Additionally, the restaurant's dessert specialty, churros, also took over an hour from when we requested that they be delivered. The churros' texture was slightly hard to chew through, and the chocolate sauce provided was minimal and extremely sweet. Their specialty, paella, was extremely bad compared to other paella, as the rice was extremely wet, contradictory to the conventional state of paella. The portions of the food were slightly below reasonable for the price paid, especially for the mains, as the prices for their special "feed me" were 28.50 per person, much above the price usually paid for this quality of food. In conclusion, the food at this restaurant was very much under expectations, the price was not reasonable, and the service was terrible. Do not go to this restaurant.

A warming atmosphere and absolutely lovely staff make this place worth visiting…read more The food is ok. I hate saying that because I think there's a lot of love poured into them. I have high expectations for my tapas and some of the dishes were lacking that punch you get from a great tapas dish. We ordered 6 between the 2 of us and they all came out at the same time so half of them were cold by the time we got to eat them. We ended the night on some churros and they were to die for! Crunchy on the outside and fluffy in the middle.

Sangria is a trendy up market Spanish styled cocktail bar on Gouger St, catering to a diverse age…read moregroup, but always packed with dressed up girls and dudes in suits splashing wads of cash on beers and cocktails. Specializing in its name sake, a wide variety of Sangria is on offer, split in to categories according to the base wine used, that being either Tinta (red) Blanca (white) or Cava (sparkling). ( For those not in the know, Sangria is a Spanish wine based cocktail mixed with various fruits and juices). In addition to the wine, a concoction of various spirits is also thrown into the mix, so the end result is fairly potent. Sold by the carafe (from which you get about four glasses) at $30-40 its actually not that bad a deal, and Sangria's mixologists somehow manage to make the end result taste quite good. My favorite is the the Tinta Tradicional, which (unfortunately) is the most expensive at $40 a carafe, but (fortunately) is also the most potent. Although there is often a line up, Sangrias' amicable and lovely bouncer makes the wait seem to fly by. All in all a pretty fun place to visit.

She really is a champ, unlike those bouncers that are just waiting for an excuse to knock your teeth in. That said, I'm hoping I never get on her bad side... This bar on a weekend (or even weeknights, for that matter) is ridiculous. The amount of people cramming themselves through its doors is quite a sight, and I'm beginning to think there's something in the Sangria besides copious amounts of booze and fruit. Whatever it is, it tastes amazing, and it's a sure way to get hammered without spending too much nor hopping from bar to bar. Why would you want to move anyway? Once you get a bit of prime real estate here, you're not going to want to go anywhere (not even to the bar) out of fear of losing your table. If you do need to head back in for a refill, make sure you have someone holding the fort, because there are vultures everywhere just waiting for an empty seat.
