I LOOOOVE Pan de Manila, and how they are open 24 hours! See, I've bought pandesal at 3am after a gig. I've bought pandesal at 5am after staying up all night watching things on Youtube. I've bought pandesal at 10pm because I was too lazy to cook myself some dinner. See? 24/7 bakeries are a great idea. I don't understand why Pan de Manila is the only one doing it!
Another great thing is that if you're vegan like me, then Pan de Manila's regular pandesal, wheat pandesal, malunggay pandesal, and cinnamon pan are all vegan!
Their regular pandesals come in 2 sizes. Personally I like the large ones as I just looove the soft, warm white bread inside and there's never enough of it in the small size. For palaman, try their coco jam if you want something sweet and comforting, and the calamansi jam if you're feeling adventurous.
I also swear by their bottled soy milk, it's really good and tastes really fresh for a bottled product. Its consistency is not too watery and not too thick, and washes down the pandesal perfectly.
Note: During late hours, they close their doors and you can only order through a small window on the door. Remember this if you don't want to end up like me, trying to pry open a door that's meant to be closed while the staff stares at me in horror as if I'm about to rob the place. read more
