5 Stars - Transformative Massage Experience with Ling Wimple…read more Last Sunday, I booked a last-minute massage at Kettering Spa because my neck and back were really bothering me after a weekend of yard work and moving. I had never been there before, but their great reviews and an open appointment made it an easy choice--and I'm so glad I went. My massage therapist, Ling Wemple, was absolutely amazing. She was incredibly thorough and clearly very knowledgeable. Not only did she use effective massage techniques, but she also incorporated stretching and other therapeutic modalities that really targeted my problem areas. From the moment we started, she focused on my concerns with professionalism and genuine care. I felt noticeably better right away--Ling truly went above and beyond. In the past, I've enjoyed massages, but typically only went if someone gave me a gift certificate. After this session, I realized the true therapeutic benefits of massage. It's no longer just a luxury for me--I'll be scheduling regularly with Ling moving forward. Highly recommend Kettering Spa, especially if you can book with Ling!

When she asked me to turn over, I couldn't understand her so I asked her if she wanted me to turn over and she gave me an attitude. When she was done she just left. I gave her a tip but probably shouldn't have. The ceiling looked nasty and the massage room was cold. No warm blanket and no bolster for the ankle or knees.

She is my forever stylist!…read more Tired of not so good hair from some very good salons I let my hair grow out and carefully searched for better options. I decided to come here after looking for a salon that had a reputation for being contemporary, a little out of the box with their creativity, attention to detail and was attracted by the pride she took in her art and craft. Nicole loves what she does and it shows. Nicole is the very first stylist I have ever had a successful cut and style that I actually love * love * love! Great hair is possible and when you find it you know you have something special. I have used Square One, Studio Blue and like goldilocks found one just right when I arrived at Nicole's chair looking for that "just right experience." While the other salons I went to are all very good my search brought me to what I now think is my forever hair home. The entire experience was one of them carefully listening to my needs. But the main event of course is about the hair. Nicole cut my hair and she just made it wonderful. Nicole is wonderful. A true artist. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. The facilities were clean, simple and very calming. This was not a 5 star experience. It was a solid 10 stars and then some. I am so grateful for her.

Their $200 NONREFUNDABLE DEPOSIT policy is very bad business practice…read more I had an appointment with Shaterra on a Saturday. Called on Tuesday to cancel as had other obligations I could not get out of. Was told my $200 deposit would not be reimbursed..... $200 !!!! Called, talked with Shaterra and she would not consider my difficulty in having to cancel. A good business owner would have at least given back part of deposit. This is wrong. I cancelled in plenty of time for her to schedule someone else. I understood if I cancelled 48 hours before appointment,-- which I did - -I would get deposit back. I have used other permanent cosmetic companies, and no deposit was ever required. No "punishment" for cancelling either. Terrible policy and unwavering owner to not give MY money back. Do not understand all the positive reviews. Would never use this company.

It's freezing in the rooms; the lights are blinding to the customer who has to stare at them and the music is usually terrible with commercial ads for them. They need the rooms professionally cleaned and NOT by your waxers. Also!! They TAKE a portion of the workers tips if you pay them with a card on the iPad screen!! I always pay them cash directly!

Alex was highly recommended on here so I made an appointment with her. Everyone I talked to really hyped up the pain of a first time Brazilian, so naturally I was terrified. Immediately, Alex made me feel comfortable and put me at ease. She gave me clear instructions on what to do ad made conversation the whole time. It was not awkward at any moment and, surprise, barely even hurt! Alex explained that the hard wax used at Affinity is less painful and shows better results than strip wax. I can now say this is something I plan to continue all summer long. It's so convenient not having to worry about shaving "down there", and even better knowing I have a person to go to who is amazing at her job. Affinity is a little pricey ($67 for the wax plus 20% tip) but it's completely worth it to me.
