We flew in from FL for a family birthday Party (one year old). On Friday, the girls were baking…read morecookies and tasked us with picking up the cake (and cannoli's).....and cautioned us over and over to be careful (lol). The cake was beautiful, neither of us wanted the responsibility to handle it.....our wives had scared us....one of the awesome ladies in the shop loaded the cake in the back seat of the truck for us. We arrive at the Party site....mission accomplished...sort of. As I exited the Truck, the family dog, a very excitable short haired German Pointer met me at the door. I got out to greet my niece I had not seen yet (leaving the door open) A moment later, I heard DOG and CAKE in the same outburst. You can do the math. Luckily, his damage (and taste of cake) was not a total disaster. My niece was upset, we assured her....we will fix it....not knowing if we could. Back on the road and put in a 911 Call to Whipped Sweet. Getting later in the day...there was no time for another cake. We arrive, Owner says...."this isn't bad...I can work with this, we expected much worse." She says " give me 10 or 15...be right back". The theme of the Cake was "One happy Camper". She sliced away the areas affected by the Dogs sweet tooth and created a river/waterfall of icing down the front of the cake. It looked amazing. She wanted no additional compensation....obviously a gratuity was in order. You just don't get that type of service these days....The cake and cannoli's were delicous.....and the shop had another story to add to the list. Highly recommend this spot...great people, great products. Support your local shops

We were in the area camping and celebrating my Brother's birthday. I contacted their shop on…read moreFacebook messenger and was able to have his cake ordered for the following week. The cake was made the way I asked and was very fairly priced. Everyone was so helpful both online ordering and at the store when we picked it up. We ended up grabbing some freshly made kiffles while there too. Cute shop to look around or sit at.

While driving through the back routes in PA, came across this very cute little bakery ad decided to…read moregive it a try as I needed some sugar for another four hours of driving. The place is in a small strip mall, next to a gas station and a pizza place and had a board outside advertising their lunch. Walking in I was drawn to the setting of the place as it is very welcoming, minimal display and a decent sitting area. The lady at the counter recommended everything on the menu, but when I told her I was looking for something very sweet, she guided me to "The Persian", which is a donut filled with creme and other goodies and to the "Salted Caramel Bar", which was the largest brownie I had seen. For extra measures I went ahead and bought a White Cupcake as well and started my adventure by finishing that one first. The White was very well made, light to the eating and wasn't too sweet either. The real treat however was the Salted Caramel Bar as just after one bite, I was a full convert to becoming their fan right there and then. Not only is it huge, but there is plenty of very sweet and amazing caramel inside which oozes out as you eat through it. After discovering my new love interest in the brownie, I stood up to go meet the owner of the bakery. She shared that she and her sister had started this place and it was still relatively new. I complimented them for their artistry and asked them to be on Yelp, as that is the only place I get my recommendations. I drove home after buying another bar and kept it in the trunk so I do not have easy access to it. This place is far from me, but I will find any excuse to drive to that area to pick some of those brownies and The Persian. Well done ladies, you have a fan in Connecticut!
