I can't believe I'm the first to review this great little business, which opened in walking disance…read morethe same year I got an apartment on Elmwood near Summer(2006). I was a regular the 2+ years I lived in that location, picking up jewelry & shea butter and chatting with the super friendly owner. I just revisited it after several years away (I live in Black Rock - like anyone on Yelp doesn't know, har har, and don't get to EV much) and was excited to see that not only was it still there, it's flourishing. Ambiance/service - The store is in the back side corner of a non-descript brick building, sharing a small urban "strip mall" of sorts - with Elmwood Market (formerly DVD Dot), a laundromat and a nail place occupying the street-facing shops. It is small and has that market feel common to small, indie ethnic shops without being dingy, dirty or cramped (a la Manar's, now closed). The space is very clean and much better organized than when they first opened seven years ago. Products - The store focuses on traditional African and African-incluenced clothing and accessories, including jewelry, clothing, hats, home decor, instruments, beauty products (shea butter, black soap), scarves and even fabric to make clothes (sold by the 6 yard piece). On my most recent trip I bought a beautiful cream and aqua stone necklace with silver accents - it has a really quality heft and look, with excellent craftsmanship, and set me back less than $25; it was a small price to pay considering teeny bopper mall chain stores charge $12-20 for similar, less quality necklaces. The store also carries a small assortment of African foods and a variety of less traditional clothing that still fits with the shop's vibe. The store has expanded into the spot next to them, with this shop focusing on handbags and accessories. I did not pop in this side, though the owner offered to open it for me, but I took a long gander through the window and it looked clean, well-organized and full of goodies.

You will definitely distringuish yourself from any other girl when you are wearing these clothes. The clothing is pricey; therefore, I browse more often than I buy. But the clothing is very distinctive and of high quality. The hair accessories are really eye-catching. I like anything that sparkles. They also have a nice selection of headbands. It's very difficult to find a chic headband. The upstairs holds fun little knicknacks and sale items. For example, they have an Oscar Wilde action figure and an ashtray keychain. It's very eclectic. Vintage clothes, books, egg timers... It's random. I bought a Chinese brush painting set once. The store is connected to the Wooly Lamb. I love shopping for yarn and then finishing off with a stop at the Dress Shop.

While most of the selections are casual, they tend to be offbeat and make a statement--so this is a place to shop for the "wow" pieces in your wardrobe, not the jeans and t-shirts. The buyers have great taste and the stock always seems to offer options that are on-trend but not so trend-driven that you'll feel passé in six weeks. The prices for most garments seem to be in the $50-$100 range, and there are a wide variety of accessories available. Upstairs, you can check out a range of vintage finds, from clothing to home decor and gift items. Everything is beautifully merchandised and reasonably priced, so it's a treat to browse.

This boutique offers in style fashion clothing for women/ millennials like myself. They offer shoes, shirts, dresses, bralettes, etc etc and are reasonably priced. I was able to buy a skirt, two beautiful dresses, a sweater and a top for $240... and for shopping local this was reasonable especially when I'll have awesome new clothes in my closet. Plus free street parking! The store lets you try on the clothes because they will sanitize everything completely so you can feel safe. (This was awesome because I miss trying on clothes so much) Don't expect to see something you like and go back later for it because the clothes fly off of the shelf and you'll regret missing out. They get new shipments in often with different items so you can always expect new things!!

SOCKS, SOCKS, WONDERFUL SOCKS…read more I've searched tirelessly to the ends of the earth for the plethora of socks one can find at the Lockport Outdoor Store. As irony would have it, the "sock promised land" was I my backyard all the time, where I don't need to run my socks thin to get there. Man, there's so many different types to choose from: Thorlo, Smartwool, Woolrich, Wigwam.... Crew cut, ankle, hiker, worker, athletic.... Wool, polyester, acrylic, polypropylene... The list goes on and on. Once you navigated the painstakingly difficult process to choose the right ones for your personal mud hole stompers, get them clad up in that merino wool and take the Lockport Outdoor Store up on their offer to travel a 1,000 miles to try to find a store like theirs, but just prepared to be disappointed when you don't.

They have a great selection of clothes, accessories, homeware, and beauty items - truly something for everyone! I also love that they carry larger sizes. As someone in a larger body, it can be hard to find cute clothes that fit, especially if you're looking for that oversized look. All my favorite sweatshirts are from The Lounge Shop because they we are well made and give me the fit I am looking for. The service is always great. The girls working greet everyone and are there to answer any questions you may have. The shop is cute. It's a smaller space so it can get tight in there when it's busy, but everything will well merchandised and laid out so it is easy to shop. Items are definitely priced on-par with other boutique shops which can make things a little expensive. HOWEVER, they have plenty of sales and mark down items often so there is always a well-priced treasure to be had! I get compliments every time I wear an item from The Lounge Shop and always recommend it to anyone looking for Buffalo-themed items.

But since I'm not a chauvinistic walking stereotype, I can neither confirm nor deny the veracity of those statements. What I can confirm, though, is that there are some pretty fancy styles to be found here at Streetgame. What's more, the prices are dirt cheap (by Mall standards, for sure), probably because it's nestled in one of the lowest income neighbourhoods in WNY. But what it does mean is that if you want some cool street clothes for bargain basement prices, you can stop down here on Bailey and check it out. At least 4 of the items in my clothing collection are from here (and I also use charity shops, just call me Macklemore), because I'm poor a.f. by some standards. I went online to search for sneakers store in the Buffalo area and Streetgame came up. So, when they came up and I saw the storefront of their merchandise. I decided I would go there and check them out to see what they had. When I walked into store there were two guys at the counter and neither one of them greeted me. Then this lady walks in after me and they immediately greet her. I turned around in shock and looked at them, then one of the guys proceeded to ask me if I needed any help. So, I told him no I'm good and walked out of the store. Why would I want to patronize a store when they can't seem to greet every customer. Nowadays, it's seems like people are more engaged in their phones at work than making sure they give every customer an exceptional shopping experience. It starts by greeting the customer the moment that they walk through the door!
