    Burger, Fries and Chili dog
    Brendan G.

The fast food line was out onto the street and the line was probably the fastest drive thru line I've even been in. Ordering was easy and good my food hot and hot. The burger and fries were some of the best I've ever had for fast food. Fries were very hot and crispy with a little seasoning. The hot dog was good but nothing special. I would go back for the burger and fries!

Great burgers and fries! Fast friendly service! Cool ambiance! I first ate here back in 1991 when i started med school! It is still here and busy and yummy!!! So happy they were still here. Now they have more restaurants all around the surrounding area too! Across the street from ETSU! Near the VA

Cheddar rounds with a gravy biscuit.

Located along State of Franklin across from ETSU, this location can get extremely busy. For those not familiar, Pal's is drive through only. If you turn in at the light, you need to go past Pal's and through the round about to get into their drive through. I've seen the line backed up so you can't even get into the round about. The major advantage of Pal's is efficiency. While that long of a line at other fast food places would take 30 minutes to get through, you'll only spend 10-15 waiting here. The food is standard fast food with a few regional twists. Some items have a cult-like following. Cheddar rounds, for example, one of my favorite items. Be aware they are only available in the morning for breakfast. About the only real disappointment is their gravy. It's much thinner than I prefer. There is a good amount of sausage pieces, and the flavor is nice. Just make sure you keep the container level or it will run out. Pals is certainly worth a try, especially if you are in a hurry. Their food is consistently good and fresh, and the regional specials add variety to the menu.

Stop here on the way to Johnson City. First time here, pleasantly surprised easy menu service was quick. The burgers are big for the price. And the toast cheese sandwiches big for the price. Overall, good a meal worth the stop. Order from one window and then pay for it on the other side

    Double Big Pal with Cheese

C'mon, who wouldn't want to get a burger from here? We are now in Johnson City, TN where I used to live for about 5 years back in the early aughts. And this place was my favorite place to get a burger. A great Tri-Cities regional chain offering fresh made burgers and quick service that makes Chick-fil-A's drive through seem glacial in comparison. Since Pal's is drive through only, we got our food and headed back to the hotel. I got my usual order: a Double Big Pal with cheese, Frenchie Fries, and a Peachy Tea. The Double Big Pal is two 1/3 lb burgers, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and mayo. My better half got her usual: the Big Chicken, shaved white meat chicken with lettuce, tomato, and mayo. They may not win any beauty contests, but trust me, they are tasty.

What a cool concept! I love this little place and with they were here in Middle Tennessee instead of just East Tennessee! Man those hot dogs are addicting for sure!!! Been to about 10-15 locations while working in East TN and the quality is always the same!

I didn't taste it myself but the kids loved their cheesy hashbrowns for breakfast. Service was fast and very friendly!

Nothing special, it's just fast food. Quality is between McDonald's/Burger King and five guys/ burger fi. Mediocre. But very fast service.

The inside is vaguely reminiscent of a cafe and there is a sofa seating area with faux fireplace and large screen tv which was playing sports. There is a large display of sweets and treats as well as the person making the crepes. They have a large array of coffees, teas, and drinks. I believe I saw boba as well. The food menu is relatively simple but does have some unique offerings. We ordered the chicken crepé with a 1/2 salad and the Club sandwich with homemade chips. The crepe was light and had a nice texture. The sauce on the chicken was garlicy very tasty. The salad was an advocado salad and it was fresh with just lettuce, advocado, red onion, bell pepper, and cut cherry tomatoes. It came with ranch dressing. I asked for bleu cheese dressing but they did not have that as an option. I also attempted to order a coke but they only had Coke zero despite having a full Coke fountain machine within view. The club was fresh and the homemade chips were crispy according to my mother. I had the chai latte and it was very tasty, maybe slightly sweeter than my preference but very good. My mother enjoyed a regular latte. One young man was particularly helpful and patient with my mother, who has the onset of dementia, while she was deciding what coffee she wanted. Now lets talk about the things that left us a bit put off. This was our first time at the establishment so we went to the cashier, which was a young woman with long dark hair and glasses, she told us to take menus and then come back to the register and order. The was zero smiles or welcome or glad you're here to try our food. When I paid, there was an option for a tip, which I thought was ridiculous because so far I hadn't really received any service. We didn't receive any additional service either other than someone placing food on the table while we were ordering a coffee for my Mom. When the same girl dropped off food to the lady that sat behind us, she didn't say a word to her or ask her if she needed anything. So, I guess our experience with her was status quo. It was 32 degrees outside and it was also very cold inside. It may be because they were getting a delivery and the door kept being opened and closed. The music, where we sat in the back, was rather loud and was certainly not background ambiance. Lastly and concerning is the wiping of the tables. The tables were not being cleaned with a disinfectant between customers, they were using Pledge. I saw two tables "cleaned" in this fashion. I could not believe what i was seeing! This cannot be up to regulation. So, all in all, would I come here again? Maybe if I have a craving for a crepe.

We ordered the Farmer's Scramble and the Breakfast Sandwich and they were as expected--fresh ingredients, perfectly cooked, and really filling. Parking can be a little tricky to figure out on a busy weekend, but we ended up finding a lot across the street. The cashier gave me my food and asked to have a seat and that she would call my name when my drink was ready. I watched the indifferent cashier ring up close to 15 other sales. All of which received their drinks. Numerous times she made eye contact with me but didn't say anything. After fifteen minutes of waiting, I decided to stand up so she could see me, without my drink. At the twenty minute mark of waiting, it was so busy I knew I wasn't receiving my drink and left. I contacted the business about what happened and never received an answer. So the one star is for no contact on a complaint and not receiving my latte. Otherwise, it seemed like a great atmosphere and the cinnamon roll was great.
