One of the things we noticed is that they had a dance show of K-pop music and they did not have the washing stations in the middle. They did have more tables closer together rather than different sitting area areas. There were less beer stations so the lines were a little long for beer later in the night. Not having the middle washing stations made it so you had to go all the way to the restroom if you needed to wash your hands and you didn't have that extra supply of napkins. [What to expect]: The market was approximately half food vendors and half arts / crafts / gift vendors. There were solid craft and gift vendors, but not too many art vendors. The food was extremely overpriced ... a simple appetizer = at least $15+ & a filling meal = at least $25. The only real positive? There was a mahjong area that offered free lessons. The performance stage was alright. [Food]: Our party ended up getting only 6 pieces of soup dumplings (aka XLB) from Dumpling Dream for $14 and a cup of gelatea from Boutcha for $7.20 (one of the most affordable and best item to get at the market). [Conclusion]: If I ever come back to 626 Night Market, I would probably stick with the Arcadia location as parking is free and the admission fee is slightly cheaper. I am still having a hard time digesting the fact that getting into the market cost $30+ before even buying any food if I come here alone and I would also need to spend another $25+ just to feel like I had eaten a legit meal. They offer all kinds of meat but the freshest cuts are definitely the Al Pastor you can see in the vertical spit /shawarma grilling device, and the Carne Asada that they were grilling up on a regular BBQ. For my first round I got 4 tacos al pastor and a large cup of their piña (pineapple juice) they also had fresh cucumber juice Agua fresca. They served it up fast and fresh, but if you're expecting 1 minute service it will likely take a little longer, especially their Tortas which are a bit involved in their creation. Everything was super clean and food was handled with masks and gloves and while there weren't any tables or seats set up it is easy enough to park nearby and eat directly seated in your car. I kept trying to hype them up, saying "just wait, this is the best I've ever had!"--but when the food came out, it was disappointing. Tacos and hot dogs were bland, and even the "signature" sauce couldn't save it. Guests were making comments like, "Taco Bell would've been better." To make matters worse, it was so embarrassing that my guests ended up filling up on the pizzas I had ordered for the kids. Since then, I've had friends and family recommend other taco caterers, which kind of stings given how much I once vouched for Mr. Hot Bunz. Really disappointed. I had never been here before and thought it was worth a try. I purchased the deal and picked it up right away. They're actually an ice cream shop that specializes in ice cream cookies. I was given a sugar cookie, a macadamia nut cookie, and a lemon blueberry cookie. The cookies were served warm, so I had really high expectations and thought they would taste like they were made from scratch. Unfortunately, I don't think they were based on the taste and texture. They reminded me of store bought cookies, similar to Costco's. They also fell apart as I picked them up. They were a little too rich and sweet for me. Even as someone with a sweet tooth, I don't think I'd pair these cookies with ice cream because they're already very sweet. If you enjoy rich, soft, gooey cookies, you might like these. I personally prefer my cookies to be a little chewier. The customer service, though, was excellent.
