We had dinner here on a Thursday evening. The place was bustling. The decor has a fun ambiance that's a little dark, but very cozy. The guest seated next to us recommended the fish tacos, and they did not disappoint. Described as a black tempura fish, these had a lot going on and are frankly a bit hard to describe, other than to say they were delicious and quite filling despite the notion of two fish tacos seeming like not a lot of food. We came here when the wait at every popular and "hyped" restaurant in Santa Fe had 2+ hour wait times. We passed by it and decided to come in on a whim due to the gorgeous decor and sexy, lively vibe. This just goes to show you that you can find gems outside of all of the overhyped restaurants! Our server was awesome, and the food and drinks were both wonderful. The best part was that there was no wait although the restaurant was full. The Ceviche was a substantial portion and served fresh with bright flavors. We enjoyed the Sopes de Pollo as nice little bites, especially the vibrant green sauce on top. Fabulous is every way! We enjoyed dinner here with friends last night and the service was impeccable to outdoor patio was beautiful and the food was incredible. We had a nice visit with the proprietor who obviously takes a lot of pride in her restaurant. We started with a special tomato salad with an amazing salsa which was a flavor explosion. I hope this makes it onto the regular menu. I had the grilled sea bass (white bean salad, tender garden herbs, aji amarillo-preserved lemon salsa) which was amazing. I loved the yellow salsa. I also tried the ceviche which was the best I've ever had (baja sea bass, lime, pico de gallo, serrano) So good! Others in our group had the rockfish tacos and the short rib barbacoa. Went here again to try their new brunch menu! Very delicious as always, the tacos look small but they're very filling. The salsas are great and I recommend ordering extra to make sure you get a good amount on your tacos. My friend got the pancake and it was also very delicious, highly recommend trying it out! This is a vibe-y and great spot! Highly recommend making a reservation, especially for weekends. I made a reservation the night before for an early dinner for myself and my mom for Mother's Day, which came in handy because it ended up being packed inside. We went for a lighter dinner with a few different appetizers, including the Pepita Salad, the tostaditas de atun, and the brussel sprouts. All of these were really delicious, and I saw the nachos and fish tacos at other tables and if I were hungrier, I would have ordered them as well. We also got the churros which were okay. A friend recommended this place while we were in town and we owe him big time. Hands down the best tacos (tacos negros) we've ever had, the sea bass was incredible and the roasted carrots with peanut-pistachio salsa was amazing. And I don't even have words to describe the Tres Leches, only that my husband put it in the same category as the best lasagna he's ever had which was in Italy. We walked in without a reservation around 5:30 on a Thursday night and received a warm welcome from the hostess who let us know they were just cleaning a table for us. We were seated in two minutes and someone brought water immediately. Our server was truly above and beyond - she was so friendly and helpful with the best recommendations for drinks (Gold Link margarita and Paradise Garage) and food, plus a great hiking spot to bring our kids the next morning (the Audubon). We sat inside, which was cozy with lit candles all around and beautifully decorated. We would love to try the patio next time - it looked serene. Overall couldn't have asked for a better date night experience. The bill seemed reasonable and absolutely worth it to us, especially with how much we loved the food, drinks and service. Had a Sunday night reservation during our stay in Santa Fe. This place was on all the lists of favorites from several Airbnb hosts. We ordered the salsas and quac - all so so good. Fresh and unique and flavorful. I wanted to drink all the salsas - that good For our mains we got the fish tacos and steak fajitas. Everything was super delicious. The only negative thing I'll mention is that $20 for two tacos seemed really steep. No sides with that. So if you are hungry, don't get this as your dish without considering this. I was so looking forward to a return visit. We had been here a few years ago, and I had their chicken mole, which was oh, so, wonderful. So I guess I had high expectations; too high, as it turned out. We had reservations, and had arrived just after they opened, so we were one of the first in the door. We were offered a seat in the bar side of the restaurant, which I thought was a little odd, but, okay, it seemed good enough. But so much for the ambiance. We were given water and menus, and from then on, the service was sub-par. It seemed like every time the server appeared she felt she was doing us a favor, in fact, we had to flag her down a few times. And the final insult was when she dropped off the check, just set it on the table and walked off. No pleasantries whatever. We ordered chips and guacamole. The guacamole was so very good, but was served with a very minimal amount of chips. I loaded each chip with lots of guacamole, but still ran out of chips. Had to flag down waitress for some more. The chicken mole was not on the menu, but they had Enmoladas (chicken mole enchiladas), so that is what I ordered. Couldn't wait to have the wonderful mole sauce again! Unfortunately, it was not anywhere near what I remembered. The mole was too thick and was missing the complex, flavorful spices that I remembered from the last visit. The tortillas were a bit tough, and the chicken was very dry. So sad. On a brighter note, my husband ordered the sea bass, and lucky for me he was willing to share. The sea bass was so delicious. It was moist and flavorful, and I wish I would have ordered the sea bass instead. If I had based my rating on just this experience, I would have given the restaurant two stars. For the price of the meal, the service and Enmoladas should have been excellent. Instead both were subpar. But this rating was saved by the sea bass, it was so good, it warranted a star of its own. read more

Absolutely ORDER the esquites and the barbacoa. Beef was slow-cooked to perfection, melts in your mouth, and serves two if you're having appetizers/other things. It's TOO GOOD. It came with polenta that isn't over mashed, as if a food angel helped you chew a corn tortilla that's been soaked in some tender meat goodness. The esquites is the cheesiest thing I've ever had in my life, and it had a surprise garlic clove in there that made everything better. It's white cheddar popcorn that came to life. It's not sour with lime or overdone with chamoy or mayo. It just... is SO GOOD. The sopecitos and ceviche were delicious, but I'd be excited to try other things too! I've never had a sopecito and it was a tad starchy for me but still a good taste profile. The guac and salsas looked sick and I will dip their fresh warm tortilla chips in anything. The pico de gallo on top was pretty spicy this time and I felt the beans and rice could have been a little more flavorful but mixed with the steak and veggies easy to forget. So Paloma had been on my must visit list for quite some time now, and I am so happy that I finally got the chance to check them out Located not far from the Santa Fe Plaza. This little hidden gem is so cute and such an experience. Next time I come, I will probably make reservations. That was my only note, but we were still able to order drinks at the standing bar and then were sat at the actual bar. The menu is on the pricier side, but it is absolutely fine dining. I started off with the aqua de jamiaca and it was delightful. One of my friends ordered the nachos and I absolutely will have to try them next time. Honestly, everything was so good. We were all so happy with our meals even though it was again on the pricier side. The only bummer was they were out of churros at the end of the night, but we ended up going to churro bar instead and it was really fun. I will absolutely be back. The server messed up our order, never checked in and took a long time to get to us for another round or more food. This was my 4th day in Santa Fe and Paloma was by far the worst dining experience I have had, and one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a restaurant. The hostess placed me in what may have been the worst table in the restaurant. I asked if I could have a different table and she was rude and dismissive towards my request. It would have been fine if that is all that was available, but she didn't bother checking, her tone was condescending, and I was made to feel as though my request had inconvenienced her. That pretty much set the stage for the rest of my dining experience. My serve promptly came to my table but her attitude was indifferent and rushed, almost as if she wanted to be anywhere but at work. I thought maybe she was only this way with me, but she treated the couple next to me the same way. She took my order and I didn't see the server again until towards the end of my meal. This was problematic as I needed some help: I ordered an ice tea, which came unsweetened. Had she come by, I would have asked for sweetener or a diet soda. I also ran out of tortillas and was waiting for a while before I was able to ask for more. I ordered the pollo sopes as an appetizer and the steak fajitas as my entree . The sopes were nice and the fajitas were okay. The steak was medium rare. Medium rare worked for me, but I was never asked how I wanted the steak, which seems like an important question. She brought the check almost as soon as the wait staff cleared the table, never if asking if I wanted dessert or anything else. I honestly felt as though I didn't matter as a customer and that my presence at the restaurant was an inconvenience. I spoke to the manager after I paid my bill and he was apologetic. But it was a bit awkward because my waiter and the hostess came by and it was clear they were trying to listen to what I was saying. read more
