While disappointing results can sometimes happen, what bothered me most was the complete lack of communication afterward. I reached out to Masaki on May 13 regarding my concerns and attempted to resolve the issue privately. I never received a response. It has now been about a month, and despite giving plenty of time for a reply, I have been ignored. I did not immediately leave reviews or make public comments because I wanted to give him the opportunity to address the situation directly. Unfortunately, that opportunity was never taken. For $480, I expected a higher standard of work and customer service. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Masaki.

It was 6 months since my last. That must have just not been the right thing to say bc I was judged, insulted during the entire session and I got the worst haircut of my life. I can't even get it fixed because it is so much shorter than I wanted. There are huge "texture" discrepancies all over my hair, the most obvious being in the back near my neck. There's also a strand of hair far longer than the entire length of my bob cut. I don't even understand how this happened. I'm so traumatized. I would never recommend this place and will never ever come back. I really had 1 chance to get a cut as a treat to myself, since I really don't have extra time to spare. And now I have to live with this until it grows out, definitely more than 6 more months. If I could give -1000 stars, I would. Please do yourself a favor and find a salon that can do a nice cut for long AND SHORT hair. WITHOUT A PERM TO MAKE IT ALL STRAIGHT FIRST. The skill level here is just so sub par. I could have done it myself.

This really pissed me off because in the middle of my appointment, I even heard an assistant ask in Mandarin "is she getting a haircut?" and the stylist shook his head. I was really unhappy with my hair that I went to get a hair treatment (for the dry, damaged hair) and toner at a different salon a week later. That stylist even asked "who did your hair?"

I was a bit disappointed to see that it looked nothing like the picture and it was fake rose petals which I thought was weird. I'll give them an A for effort though although it looked nothing like the picture. The massage was amazing. She did a really great job. Most of my massages are pretty rough but she did a great job with light to medium pressure. I really liked the glass of champagne and the chocolate truffles. The private soak was nice but I really enjoyed the sauna. It was definitely a great experience. Came out feeling revitalized. My boyfriend really enjoyed the massage and the amenities.

Review for Trish! I've been to Palms Salon twice so far and both experiences have been extremely positive! The first time I came to Trish I had boxed died my hair twice to a darker brown (thanks COVID and my original blonde roots growing out). I wanted to go back to my original blonde I was pre-covid. Trish took her time to do a consultation with me. She was really transparent with me about the color I wanted and how many potential sessions we needed. I knew it was going to be the reality of it and I was more than open to hearing how this process was going to work. When my first appointed was completed, I was shocked! My hair was blonde?! How could that happen so quickly!? It was gorgeous and she gave such confidence knowing I was on my way to be back to my normal self! We set a time for my second appoint which we figured we could lighten the hair up more and evaluate from there. When I arrived for my second appointment, there was a slight delay from the client before so I stepped out to take a phone call and unfortunately I had to cancel ON THE SPOT. I was so embarrassed and I felt horrible. Trish and her colleagues were AMAZING. They could tell I wasn't in the right headspace and were EXTREMELY flexible on getting me back in AS SOON AS POSSIBLE (two days later to be exact). I have to say, it's extremely hard in this town to find a hair salon that can be as accommodating as them. When I arrived two days later, Trish remembered me and asked how I was doing. It was so relieving to know I didn't ruin my new relationship with the ONE person who killed it doing my hair! Walking out of my second appointment I felt even more better then the first time I went. We were able to achieve even more blonde in my hair and overall the experience was so enjoyable. Plus my hair looks so good, Trish is a godsend! I can't recommend this salon enough. I found my way into Trish's chair after a mutual friend and former client of hers (before moving to LA) let me know that Trish was seeking a male hair model to set new trends for men - balayage! I always had dark hair and had considered going blonde during the pandemic, so jumped at the opportunity to work with her and trusted her to do her thing based on the person who referred me. I assumed that I wouldn't have much say in the vision, but I couldn't have been more wrong. Her and salon owner Brittany gave me the royal treatment and were extremely patient and thorough with explaining their vision and our options. Trish began by giving me an impromptu trim that was one of the best cuts I've had in years. After that, we began the coloring process, which took ~5 hours all-in. They even deviated form their original plan after getting to know me throughout the day and getting a feel for what my ultimate hair goals were. We pivoted from subtle, lived-in pops of color to a noticeable, but natural bronde. It took me a bit to adjust to the new me in the mirror, but once I did, I could not have been happier with the results. I immediately booked my maintenance appointment on the spot. 7 weeks later, I linked up again with Trish for a Keratin treatment (Lasio Tropic), which completely hydrated my hair and removed frizz. My hair has never air-dried so soft and natural before. The treatment also brought new life and brightness to the golden / cream / blonde in my hair. Trish is extremely accessible (via IG DM) and knowledgeable about her craft. I've since expressed my future hair goals with her and sent her countless inspo pics. She was responsive, open and honest about what would look best and most natural on me, but was still open to and supportive in going for something more dramatic and outlined the realistic steps without rushing in achieving those goals while maintaining the health and integrity of the hair. As someone who has had a lot of experience having my hair done (cut, colored, bleached, etc.), I unfortunately, have had my hair share of "wtf just happened to my hair" moments, and with Palms, I have left every single time LOVING my hair, and feeling confident, happy, informed and eager to come back!!! I have been going to Palms for years and as a natural dark brunette, that has been all over blonde for years, but is constantly is changing tone and placements, I have always left Palms feeling insanely happy, beautiful and with the integrity and health of my hair intact (if not better). Ariel is my stylist, and he is hands down the BEST stylist I have ever had, and frankly the only person I will allow to touch my hair now. He approaches each appointment, with a consultative and realistic approach- outlining what needs to be done, different techniques, styles and detailing the care that would go into maintaining and caring for my hair. He is insanely talented, and I cannot recommend him enough! Above all you can tell he genuinely loves that he does, and as much as he loves working with people and engaging in conversation, he really wants to see the best outcome for you- and that I appreciate. Far too often stylists just go with either what the client wants without any truthful advisement, or just with what they feel is best, and while I am pretty easy going, as I trust his judgement, he really takes the time to analyze what would look best for me based upon my hair texture, length, coloring, facial features, skin tones, etc., as well as what would fit in best with the level of maintenance that I am comfortable with and can commit to. I'm in the process of relocating from Chicago to NY and finally bit the bullet on trying to find my future NYC salon. I'm incredibly picky and meticulous about how my hair is cut so I was super nervous about going to someone new. After extensive research trying to find an expert cutter, I decided to go to Trish at Palms Salon. Bottom line: TRISH IS PHENOMENAL. I showed her tons of pics of what I wanted and she was very informative and honest about my hair type and which of my pictures represented what was most realistic for me to achieve. After watching her meticulously build layers into my long one length hair and essentially giving me the exact look from my pictures, I knew I made the right decision. This salon may seem like they only specialize in color (specifically blonde), but I'm here to tell you that this was probably the best technical cut I've had in the last 15 years. I got this first haircut done about 2.5 months ago so I'm way overdue for this review but with a few months of post cut styling under my belt I can also confidently tell you it has really transformed how I've been able to style my hair - whether I'm curling it, round brush styling or flat iron styling, the end result lays so much better and stays looking so much better throughout the day. A good haircut really impacts how any style you create looks. Not only do I get compliments from people who know me and saw the "before" and "after", but random strangers will stop and tell me how much they like my hair style. The fact that I can also get amazing color from the same salon should I decide to in the future is just icing on the cake. I had such an amazing experience at Palms Salon a few months ago. I'd been stalking their IG for the past year admiring their coloring and balayage work. I've been looking for a new salon that could achieve beautiful blond coloring on naturally dark, wavy hair. I was drawn to Trish's work and finally was able to snag an appointment with her. My appointment with her was more that I could have expected. She was fun, inviting, professional and so knowledgeable. I felt safe with all their COVID protocols and what I loved most is she shared so much knowledge with me and said this is a partnership for my healthy hair journey. My first appointment I also received a haircut. She added volume and definition while keeping my hair long (I can't describe how many times I've asked to get my ends trimmed and layers at other salons in the city and came out with much shorter hair than I envisioned) With Trish, my hair felt healthy, bouncy and strong while maintaining the length. Next she turned my grown out highlights into a beautiful blend of a bronde balayage. It was very important to me that it had demention and that my dark roots were naturally blended in. Before I left I purchased one of the salon's shampoo and conditioner duos. My hair has never smelled so wonderful and after the first use, the texture was so soft and I could feel my natural waves taking shape. I came back two weeks later for stem cell treatment. Ariel is literally the best thing that has happened to my hair. I have been seeing Ariel for the past 2 years and initially came to him with box-dyed (blackest black), dry, and mistreated curly hair with the hopes of going blonde. It was clear I didn't understand what that meant or how damaging it could be to my hair but, thanks to Ariel, now 2 years later ... I am the one telling my friends about products and best blonde hair practices. Ariel totally commits to what YOU want, but also isn't the type of stylist who will A) ruin your hair in the process to get what you want or B) let you go in blindly to a hair style/color that isn't compatible with your lifestyle. His energy and passion for what he does is infectious. Throughout my entire black to blonde hair journey, he walked me through what I needed to be doing during the 6-8 week period before my next appointment with him. He has taught me SO much. He also provided product breakdowns specific to my hair and weekly hair regimes to keep it healthy, all accompanied by a reminder that we were getting closer to my goal EVERY appt... and we were! Without compromising the health of my hair. He has great stylist sense in every sense -- hair judgement, techniques, and what's in style. My review is long overdue -- I have been going to Brittany for over a year now. Brittany is such a special and kind soul. She truly cares about her clients, her clients hair, and her team. I know we're all here to hear about the hair so I'll skip over the fact that Brittany is a social chameleon. Brittany makes amazing conversation and when you'd rather some quiet time she picks up on that too. When it comes to her clients hair Brittany ultimately wants to make your dream hair a reality and trust me she will. I remember my first appointment going in with a picture of my dream hair, a photo I found on Pinterest. After being platinum for years and deciding to go for a more mature/ lived in blonde Brittany was honest and explained to me how we could achieve this look. Brittany explained every step of the way ensuring my vision and her vision matched and maintaining my hair condition was a top priority. My hair condition has actually improved drastically since I started coming to palms. I always thought my hair just didn't grow but it does now. I recently went to Palms salon a few days ago and I couldn't be happier with my hair transformation! I went into the salon with a heavily damaged, mottled blondish green, which had faded terribly from a bright blue I once had. I was looking for a deep blue, but after consulting with Ariel, an incredibly sweet and talented hairdresser there, I decided to go full black, but with a very faint blue undertone. The process did take a couple of hours, but Ariel and the other hairdressers there were so encouraging and supportive that they made it feel like 30 minutes. I have to admit, because my hair had been sucking my confidence out of me for way too long, worst-case scenarios were running through my head the whole time. Ariel was exceedingly patient, and calmly answered questions that I had already asked 5 times before. Although my hair still feels pretty damaged, the glosses they used actually made it look shinier and silkier, and I am absolutely in love with the black, and am overjoyed to have my hair being back to one, uniform color. The blue is incredibly subtle, but it adds a nice pop of color when my hair is in the sunlight. So far, I have not had any weird fading or strong reactions from my hair, and I feel that the price was incredibly reasonable considering there was absolutely no bleach or ammonia used in any of the products. I recently had the pleasure of getting my hair done by Stephanie at Palms Salon, and I can confidently say that she is one of the best stylists I've ever encountered! Stephanie is an absolute expert at color correction, and I couldn't be happier with the results of my highlights. Working with Stephanie was a blast. From the moment I sat down in her chair, she had me laughing and chatting away. She has a way of making you feel right at home, and I loved how easy she was to talk to. Not only is Stephanie a joy to be around, but she is also incredibly talented. I have been blonde for a long time, and I could tell immediately that she really knew her stuff. This has got to be the best hair salon in all of NYC! I have been to a LOT of hair salons all over the world and I can say with confidence that if I had to choose one to go back to, it would be here. I went in for a consult with Ariel who was easily able to tell me why I wasn't seeing the results with my hair that I wanted. He gave me a summary of what he wanted to do with my hair to get it closer to the colour and look that I desired and also gave me a cost break down to do this. He also advised that it may take a couple of sessions to achieve my desired result but that after my first appointment I would still be feeling brighter and happier with my hair. I left my consult already feeling so excited and with so much faith in Ariel. His knowledge and understanding of hair didn't go unnoticed. I went back in a few days later for my appointment and had the best experience! Everyone in the salon was so lovely and easy to talk to and all the staff took the time to check my hair in between clients to ensure it was processing as needed. I left with the brightest blonde hair I had ever had and was so happy! I also left with some amazing hair products to help nurture my hair and a list of things to not use on my hair to ensure it's blonde longevity and health. Getting my Asian hair colored beautifully is a tricky process to get right and when I moved to NYC 5 years ago, after a pretty frustrating and expensive journey trying out several stylists that just couldn't get my color right, I found Brittany Hartz through her amazing Insta photos...and I'm so glad I did! Brittany's Insta feed has gorgeous pics of several blonde and brunette balayage, so I felt confident that she could help me with my Asian hair. My hair needed severe color correction and after just the first session I had with Brittany, I was an instant fan and she became my go-to Stylist! Not only did I love my beautiful new hair, I also really appreciated how she really listened to my concerns and discussed in length about what I wanted to achieve, and she took the time to explain the procedures and methods she was going to use to get the hair that I wanted. Brittany has now moved on from her last salon and has just opened her own flagship place, Palms Salon. I was lucky enough to get my hair done at Palms on their opening day and again, I am so, so, so happy with my hair! Palms is in a large, gorgeous studio and Brittany's team is also wonderful, shout-out to Sheyla - thank you. Spartak was AMAZING, would highly recommend booking with him!!! I've been getting my hair colored for 7 years and have never had this level of attention to DETAIL as I did with this visit. He really worked with every single strand and checked in with me throughout the session to make sure it was to my liking. Naturally, my hair is very dark, almost black, but through some source of blending and toner magic he was able to make my much lighter caramel color look natural!!!! Watching him in action I could tell he REALLY knew what he was doing, and I hadn't even checked out his insta yet (spartaky1 if you're curious). I walked in with pretty terribly colored hair (honestly probably the equivalent of a stylist's worst nightmare haha) but Spartak kindly and patiently attended to me and literally transformed my hair. He attended to my hair as if it was his own and I could really tell he was putting in effort to make sure it was perfect. I would 110% trust him with any hair situation! (Also 5/5 for the rest of the staff and the vibes in the salon. My hairstylist Boris was AMAZING!! He is VERY knowledgeable on his skills, explains every next step he does to me with detail throughout the process! This is my first time coming to this salon, I got the Glow Up Package and a Root Shadow on the menu. IM BEYOND SATISFIED. SO HAPPY!! HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND! The service is A1! Back in April, I was searching for a new hair salon that would make all my hair dreams come true. I was so tired of leaving every hair salon with something I did not ask for or did not like at all. I came across Palms Salon and since then will never go to any other salon!! Trish has worked on my hair multiple times now and has never failed to give me exactly what I wanted. She takes the time to ask questions and really get a good understanding of your ideas for your hair while also going over what the entire process and pricing will be before she gets started. When I first went in to the salon, I was a brunette looking for a honey balayage and Trish hit it on the nail. The attention she put into detail of the color I described was amazing, I left the salon obsessed with my hair! Later in the fall, I came into the salon with a very different idea for my hair and Trish was nothing but supportive and ready to get started. She transformed my hair into the fire red head of my dreams. Not only is the staff incredibly talented at what they do but are incredibly friendly and are always making sure you are comfortable. Ariel is literally magical. I live in Seattle and got my hair done locally with a stylist I didn't know. It was so awful, and I didn't want to take my chances with anyone else, so I flew ACROSS THE COUNTRY to have my hair fixed at Palms Salon. I've been here before and trust them with my life, but this was my first time with Ariel. When I came in he spent 20-30 minutes making sure that I had realistic expectations and we were on the same page about my hair goals. We had to split it into 2 appointments. During the first, he did color corrections, turning my brassy blorange hair into a beautiful, dimensional light brown. If we had stopped here, I would have honestly been beyond happy with the results, but he went out of his way to fit me in for a second appointment. In the second appointment he did full foil highlights and brought me back to ash blonde. Ariel is SO TALENTED and on top of that, this is the most fun I've ever had sitting in a chair for 6 hours. I put my hair through a lot the last few weeks, but it still feels healthy after my sessions with Ariel, and he gave me explicit care instructions for the next few weeks to restore moisture and strength. I got a Balayage and Foil Highlights done here. Let me tell you how much I've always wanted my hair to be done correctly and done without frying off my hair. I first found out of Palms salon through IG and fell in love. I got a consultation with Jennifer and scheduled me an appointment with her for the look I wanted. She was very sweet and made me aware that it may take me sessions for my dark brunette hair and I was open and honest with what I have done to my hair before. When it was finally done my hair came out with beautiful cool chocolate tone balayage highlights, I was honestly totally surprised how they complimented my olive skin and got so many compliments afterwards. I then scheduled a very much needed hair cut trim with Jennifer again and told her how long my hair is and I didn't want to look too short, she cut two inches off my hair and made me layers standout more. My hair felt so silky and the trimming deff helped my hair look more healthier. I cannot wait for the next toning session I have with her. Jennifer is AMAZING! This is hands down the best my hair has looked and felt. As someone who is new to the city, I have had trouble finding someone who cares about my hair history and my long-term goals -- I totally found that with Jennifer. I have always had a bit of trouble getting/maintaining the color I want and was just expecting to come in for a regular touch up to get the roots under control, but I was wrong. She asked me about my hair, what I normally did, what I wanted and gave me several options, reasoning, examples and was sure I was comfortable with the prices of each. I learned SO much about my hair and how the process would look. Jennifer genuinely cared about maintaining my hair's long-term strength and health rather than giving me my quick fix. Most of all, she is so kind! In such a difficult time for everyone, it was such a stress free and enjoyable experience because of her positive attitude, as well as the positive attitudes of other staff at Palms. Additionally, their safety precautions made me feel significantly less anxious about coming to get my hair done during this uncertainty. If you are the type of person who truly values a high quality, tranquil, professional, fun, and a luxurious experience then Palms Salon is the right place for you. Starting off, Trish, who has been my hairstylist for many years is absolutely amazing in every aspect. Her energy is contagious, she's a hair integrity expert, and never fails to steer you in the wrong direction. She stands firm to her hair values and is truly an expert at what she does which is the main reason why I am still loyal to her till this day. If you ever decide to book her, then just know that you will leave feeling super refreshed and will gain a boost of confidence about yourself. For instance yesterday I was scheduled for a hair trimming appointment with her and I kid you not I left the salon feeling like a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders let alone confident. I initially found Palms Salon through a friend after visiting her while she was getting her hair cut. All I needed was a haircut (it had been 2 years since I cut my hair so the ends were horrific), so I set up my appointment with Jess. I'm honestly super impressed with the salon in general and how my appointment with Jess went. Everyone in the salon is very professional. Jess was great talking with me about how I should cut my hair and what might look best (I have curlier hair, so I was nervous about how short I should cut it.) She was great at consulting with me and giving suggestions but never telling me exactly what I should do. She did a dry cut first just to even out my hair more before washing it & cutting it again. She then offered me wine (always a win) and we chatted throughout the entire appointment (because no one likes an awkward hour-long sitting.) She remembered me from the last time I had come in when I was just visiting which made me feel already very comfortable. Overall, I love my haircut, and she followed up with me to see how I liked it, which I always appreciate. I'm going back to see her in July! read more

After scouring yelp trying to find the perfect salon to go to , I settled for The Little Hair Shoppe. It had spectacular reviews and so many tips that mentioned Dustin. I immediately called in and booked an appointment with him. I had called to get a cut and color but Dustin wasn't going to have enough time for the color. I had arrived an hour before my appointment and Rob was gracious enough to connect me with Marisa. She had agreed to do both my cut and color. While I was reluctant at first , since I hadn't remembered reading much about Marisa, I am actually glad that Dustin wasn't available because Marisa has just earned herself a lifelong client. Marisa and I sat down and discussed what exactly I was looking for. It was my first time getting a color job done in a salon so I was very nervous and wasn't sure what to expect. I have a small round face and was looking to get a fringe cut with some highlights or an ombre. Marisa took a look at the pictures I had saved on my phone for reference and was instantly able to visualize the perfect cut and color style for me. Mind you, she is the only hair stylist to date that has NOT turned me down for a full on bang/fringe cut. I had asked for a fringe cut before from other stylists and they had all said that my face was too small and the cut would not look on my face. Boy, were the wrong-- I look gorgeous! ;) I ended up going with chestnutty highlights and bangs across my forehead with deep layers. Marisa was patient in explaining all my questions about the process and how to manage my hair after. Since I lack visualization skills, I heavily leaned on Marisa's expertise and skills-- I went with her choice of highlight colors. We were both on the same page. I was looking for a natural, subtle look that was definitely noticeable. 3 hours later, I came out of that salon as a new woman. I was absolutely floored by my new hairstyle and the lack of maintenance it would need. Marisa had also suggested and noted a few products I should get to keep the salon look fresh. She also had me sold on the moroccoan oil products that they had both used on my hair and sold at the salon. My hair cut was about $300. Cut is usually about $85 and coloring is $215 without tax. On a side note, I love everyone here. Everyone is so friendly and amazing. The owner Petra (?) does cuts alongside everyone else and is just a great character. Nick the guy who shampooed my hair is also a total sweetheart! Not to mention, the place is cozy and cute -- not one of those snobby, too-cool-for-school looking places that you always pass by in Manhattan. I can say with confidence that I will not be going anywhere else for my cuts and color.
