The whole trail runs through most of South Carolina and is a multiday expedition which was not on my agenda. If you were going to visit one part of the trail, however, this stretch overlooking the wetlands would be a good bet. There's a decent amount of parking and it's probably a little less than two hours from the area this review is marked on the map to the trail's very end.
There are fantastic views of the sprawling estuarine environment, with occasional bridges over little creeks. The water is dark, the grass thick, and it's hard to get too far off the trail in most areas, but it is an engaging walk, and a longer straight-away hike than the nearby Sewee Shell Ring (which is also certainly worth a visit. read more
