Palmetto Subs has been open for a few months now but I've never seen any business there. We were out this morning and decided that we were in the mood for subs so we stopped to check it out. Wowsa! The only reason I can imagine this place doesn't get more business than they do is because people just don't know... Owned by the same lady who owns Busters, the baked deserts and some other items are made daily and brought across the street. The prices may seem a little intimidating at first but you should expect to pay a little more at a deli in the first place, and once you see what you get for the money then you'll realize the deal you're getting. The food is frickin' awesome. The honey wheat bread on my Palmetto Special was soft and warm amazingly good. My wife got 8 grain bread on her Carolina BLT and usually doesn't like "wholesome" breads but was really impressed with it. Not to mention the pile of meat on her sandwich was about as thick as my fist. My daughter got a ham sandwich and even she seemed pretty interested. None of us ate more than 1/2 before we were full, so not only did we get great food, we also got leftovers! The meat is sliced to order on the spot and the veggies were fresh and crisp. You have to ask for pickles on the side and it's worth it because they're quite delicious, too. When we were leaving another couple came in for lunch. The husband had a sub but the wife got a salad and as they sat down, both of them could do nothing but sit and stare at how much food she was given. That thing was HUGE! This place is probably going to be one of my favorites and I can't wait to go back and try so many other sandwiches (and one of those salads). I just hope they get enough customers to stay in business because this is a hidden jewel. read more

Food, sub was good.drenched in vinegar, but ok. Service, was horrible.blue haired lady at cashier was rude when I asked why prices didn't match menu at front counter.( false advertisement) Other lady putting condiments didn't know what to put on regular listed toppings.she just kept putting everything in front of her. Ambiance, restaurant seemed clean. Rest room didn't look like a mop has ever seen the floor. Place looked like it has potential, workers need to be trained properly. read more

I went into the restaurant for the first time, was not acknowledged at all wanted to give this process a try so I waited about 6 minutes - only customer in restaurant. Cashier was in the front eating a sub and chips so she took the order, in a slightly rude way we completed the order, I over looked the attitude because it's late and I just got out of a 3 hour meeting. I see how the MANAGER hustles to make the sub, again I give them the benefit of the doubt want to try something new. The interior of the restaurant could definitely use some cleaning I figured they were busy. I know I shouldn't have finished the order but I did with a smile. Get home ready to dive into the sub and mind you I live less than 3 minutes away go to unwrap the sub and it looks so unprofessional and thrown together not to mention the lettuce was brown. We tried the Philly Cheesesteaks and they were decent. We got them plain thinking the flavor would compensate but it didn't. The meat was cooked to order so it was fresh and hot. The bread was soft and a great quality. Next time, I will add some toppings to make it even better. read more

My husband and I frequent this business often until today. We ordered a whole sub and were asked if we liked it fixed the same or differently. I responded differently. I was told I would be charged for 2 small subs instead of the whole price. The only differences I between the two were onions and lettuce. We will not be back. This is ridiculous that we would be charged $1.50 for onions and lettuce on one half of the same sub. Another marked off the list of places to frequent. read more

A good old fashioned deli. Fresh meats, quick service and tastes great! Whole subs are either an ACTUAL footlong or more. For that at subway where your footlong falls a little short, it costs about the same. They have a drive through it seemed, but we sat down in the mainly empty dining room. They rated 0 stars. But I have to select at least 1 to post review. This place was recommended by a friend. Decided to try it out Friday afternoon cause I was craving a chef salad and heard theirs was delicious. Call at 4:59 pm and ordered 2 chef salads, 2 Carolina BLTs, and 2 #5 subs for lunch on Saturday. Was told it would be ready in 15 to 20 minutes. I arrived at the pick-up window at 5:13 (I know I was a few minutes early and expected to wait a short time to get my order). Note: There was only 1 car in the parking lot and looked to be one person at counter inside. No other vehicles in drive-thru. There was 2 employees behind counter fixing food. After about 5 minutes, gentleman asked me if I had a call-in order and I replied and told him what I had ordered. He said they were working on it and it would be ready in just a few minutes. Another 5 minutes pass and a car pulls in behind me and 2 cars pull in, park, and customers go inside. A few minutes later, gentleman returns to window and gives me my total. I paid and then he asks me to please pull around and park in one of the front spaces that he would bring out my order in just a few minutes. I did so. Notice it is past the original 15 to 20 minutes I was told it would take to prepare order. During my wait, the 2 cars that had pulled in had left with their food and the car behind had left also. At 5:45 - my hand was on the key ready to turn vehicle off and go inside to request my money back when the gentleman walks out with order. No apology or no explanation as to why my order had taken so long. Come on - 2 salads and 4 sandwiches = 45+ minutes to fix?!?!?!?!??!??!? I ordered a ham and turkey salad the lady that took my order named Nicki was very polite and the salad was delicious.

The bread on my Reuben wasn't toasted or grilled so it kept sticking to my mouth. I'm not sure if it's normal to not include thousand island dressing but they only put mustard on it. My husband wanted mayo on his Cuban and she squeezed it so hard the sides of the bottle split open and it dumped on his sandwich but she just kept on squeezing. Thanks for the soggy Reuben and the mayonnaise sandwich. At least all the ingredients were fresh. read more

The only reason why this gets a 4 star is the price. You get an amazing sandwhich, but you kinda have to pay for it. The honey wheat bread is my fav!! The staff are super friendly. If you get the phillies, then be prepared to wait a bit, they cook it right there!! The salad is enought to feed 2 people and they will cook the chicken to go on top...... yummy! I give it only 1 star, not because the food isn't good (or at least possesses the capability to be the best sandwich in town), but because this is now the third time in a row that they can't seem to get my order right. I am beginning to wonder why they ask, "What would you like on it?" because they will make it how they want it, not how you ask. AVOID THE DRIVE THRU! You have to watch the employees like a hawk when they make your sandwich, because what you ask for will not be put on it. I've gone so far as asking them to repeat it back to me, which they do, but then you get a sandwich with none of the requested items put on it. I can understand a mistake one time. A 2nd time in a row can also be a mistake. But this is now the 3rd time in a row and that is why I am writing this review. Palmetto Subs USE to be my favorite place for a sandwich, but until the employees learn to follow the answer you give to their question "What would you like on it", it's becoming nothing more than an aggravation. I don't write reviews, and I don't usually complain. I wouldn't care if it wasn't at one time my favorite sandwich shops. I'd just stop going. But I keep hoping and I keep getting let down. The manager needs to fix the problem, because the employees have GREAT attitudes and are very nice, but they just will not listen to you. I cannot recommend this shop to anyone currently. I use to recommend them to everyone, but they too have said they didn't get their orders right. I will give them another shot, but if my 4th order is wrong for a 4th time in a row.... they will be permanently erased from my list of restaurants. read more

Got to admit, never went to this place until a friend started working there, just went to Subway because it was "familiar". My friend finally got me to eat there, and now, i'm hooked! Everything they use is fresh, which i think makes it taste that much better! I highly suggest giving this place a try for lunch, or dinner! read more
