This is my absolute favorite place to eat! My staple go to is the Chef Salad with their homemade ranch. It's the BEST!!! I always get a well put together salad and they're not stingy at all. The staff is amazing, very down to Earth and not over the top. I always feel at home when I step through the door. Sumter has very few places I can feel confident spending my hard-earned money in, but Mary Ann's Deli is one of the spots you can leave without having to check your bag, because they're always spot on. This was my first and last time at this restaurant 09/08/2025 approximately 2:20 pm my co worker and I met for lunch ordering and receiving the food was fine but one of the ladies in the kitchen threw an ink pen I heard the male worker said throw it back when I looked down the pen was approximately 24 inches from my foot maybe less so I turned around and one co worker was pointing at the other one and the worker that threw the pen said and I quote "My bad I didnt know it was going to go that far I'm still in shock at the behavior with customers inside eating why would anything be thrown? what if they own would have hit me or my co worker in the eye but the attitude was no caring no one apologized no one asked if we was ok but this was an absolute horrible way to have and spend your lunch break we just immediately left this establishment read more

A great local Deli hidden in a strip mall around the corner from the USC Sumter Campus. The staff are super friend and helpful. Place is clean and casual. Most of the food and sauces are made from scratch especially the cakes and cookies. I highly recommend the Bacon Potato Salad and the Roast beef AuJus. Definitely a local secret. read more

We were told that we absolutely had to try this place out since we'd never been. Walked in and people seemed nice. Was definitely nice and cold inside for a warm and muggy summer afternoon. We asked if they had anything that was similar to an Italian sub and was told the chicken Cesar wrap. I think they misunderstood the question. Whatever, no big deal. Got it to try it. Also got the grilled chicken wrap with a side salad and the house made ranch dressing because the ranch dressing was supposed to be great.. because it was made in-house. Unfortunately the ranch dressing severely lacked flavor in my opinion. I'm big on flavor and it just wasn't there. No matter how much I wanted it to be. The grilled chicken wrap was soooo salty that I could only eat about half and same with the side salad. The people were great and maybe I'll be back to try something different but what I did order this go-around, was not great. read more

The only reason I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is because the pasta salad has bacon in it..boo. I don't eat pork and I think this needs to be on the menu for us non pork eaters. Today I had the Rueben because there was no pastrami. Pastrami isn't offered everyday but the Rueben is made the same way. It's on marbled rye with sauerkraut, spicy mustard, Swiss cheese and homemade 1000. It's yummy! I called to confirm about the bacon and just so everyone knows, the pasta salad is free of it! I'll still continue to go back, they are always friendly and the service is quick, even during the lunch rush! Get there before 1pm or you may miss out on your faves as they sell out quickly! I've also had the turkey melt which is another great option! Pics of half my sammich and salad, so you can see how yummy it looks and go there too! Someone posted this is not a good place for groups, while it is small, there is plenty of room for 4-6 sized groups of people. I also heard the owner talking about sandwich platters! The service and staff are AMAZING!! The food was delicious and the BLT appetizer was delightful!! It's worth the drive from Greenville to eat there at least once a week. Maybe it's just me, but if you call yourself a deli then I would expect you to know how to prepare a sandwich. I had a reuben today, and I don't mean to pick at nits but the corned beef was sliced too thick and there was almost no sauerkraut. A reuben is supposed to be put together and then grilled, but this was prepared individually and then put together which made it taste just that way -- thrown together. Looking around, everything else looked the same. Just a sandwich(es) that would look the same if it was prepared at home. The tea was a little weak, but all the people were right nice. Not a whole lot of diners but there was steady traffic in-and-out with call-in and pick-up orders. The food wasn't bad, per se, but I had higher expectations going in. I'd call it a sandwich shop, not a deli. I'll probably go back sometime to try the chicken salad (their best seller). read more

I drive past this restaurant everyday on my way to work, so when my coworker and I were looking for somewhere new to eat I suggested here. I was not super disappointed, but I was not impressed. From the outside appearance of the restaurant I was stunned with how crowded it was, so in all fairness before I write my complete review... maybe I ordered poorly? The decor was cute, but definitely a little out dated. They had a few specialty sandwiches you could choose from or you could make your own. The sandwich I ordered was fine, but to be honest, I felt like I could have made a better one at home. I had pasta salad as my side, which had the consistence of pasta soup?
