This place is surrounded by Terra Lago golf course and it is huge. At that time no one was using the golf course so it became my huge jogging tracks and I ran sunrise and sunset for 7 days love it. Because it was the weekend of the Coachella music festival, the entire resort was full and it was extremely busy. Check in was quick and easy with friendly staff. Since it is a WorldMark location, we were offered the timeshare presentation (marketed as a "tour of the property"); we politely declined and they never bothered us again about it. The following items really annoyed me and I am not sure whether this is the norm or if it was because it was busy and the resort was full. - The resort DOES NOT provide additional towels. You can only replace dirty towels by calling housekeeping and trading your dirty towels for new ones. I have never seen a resort/hotel do this and did not like this practice. Just really annoying. - The resort does not offer housekeeping, even though we stayed for 4 nights! Our room was never cleaned as a result and we had to take the trash out ourselves. I even tried leaving the trash outside my door so that housekeeping can just grab it, but I found that it was just left there all day. Some other cons... - The AC does not work in the bedrooms. It is strong in the living rooms, but there is no air in the bedrooms for some reason. Being in the desert, it was sooo hot getting up to the high 90s outside. AC is necessary! - The food in the market/cafe is pretty mid... With WorldMark Indio being a large well-known resort in the area, I would expect the cafe food to be better. Pro though - I like that they have a market/cafe; definitely helpful to get a quick lunch in before heading to Coachella. - The security becomes very aggressive if you do not have their resort wristbands on. I accidentally left mine in the room on the first day and was almost not let back onto the property even though I could tell them my full name with ID... The best and really the only PRO I can tell you about is that there are shuttles here that take you to the festival! It is run by a private company called LF Festivals. It is very convenient and costs $145 per person. It is expensive but it was convenient and made it so that we had one less thing to think about. One thing they could work on though is the wait times. I waited over an hour sometimes to get onto a shuttle since the line was so long. Sometimes though there was no wait and I got onto a van immediately. Okay, I know I have a lot of negatives to say but it's a solid place to stay. I guess I just had high expectations because of the high price. Overall, nearly every staff I interacted with was very friendly and helpful and the front desk is quick to answer the phone when you need assistance with something. The room was clean and there is a microwave, fridge, freezer, and stove. Very convenient.

I stayed over for a birthday staycation using my American Express Platinum Card benefits. Early check-in went smoothly. The America Express check-in gift was a $25 credit to use in the Market Cafe. They also gave me a voucher for two drinks for my bithday, which was a thoughtful gift. Although a room upgrade is supposed to be a perk of my booking, I was not upgraded. I did ask, and wasn't told there weren't any upgrades available, so I'm not sure why. Instead the check-in receptionist, made it sound like my room (pool view) was an upgrade, but that was the room I had originally booked. ROOMS: I loved the design of the room, with a step down into a sitting area that helped separate the sleeping and living areas and a small balcony with two chairs and a table. The room was comfortable and in good condition, though my front door did stick so I had to be careful to pull it firmly closed. POOLS: There are multiple pools: two family pools, a couple of 1 ft deep kiddie pools, a splash pad, lazy river, and the 18+ pool and hot tub. I split my time between the lazy river and adult pools and greatly enjoyed them both. The lazy river gets quite busy and seating is limited so if you want to sit there, get there when it opens. It was over 100 degrees out, so the water was warm from the sun but still a little cooler than the air. The adult hot tub is fairly spacious compared to many hotel hot tubs and there was plenty of room to spread out without being crowded in next to strangers. FOOD: While there were servers walking around the pool area taking orders, the one in the adult pool area never came up by the hot tub. If you order at the vista square kitchen they'll deliver to your seats by the pool, so you don't have to stand around waiting for your food. Pro tip: if you want a light meal order one of the kids meals, which is about half the price of an adult meal and has the option of a side of watermelon or fries. The Camino Springs Market has pre-made sandwhiches and salads. They cannot make them to order if there are ingredients you can't eat, so choices will be limited if you have an allergy or other issues with an ingredient. The charcuterie was good. Tia Carmen had a good breakfast buffet, but the dinner was overrated. Next time I'll try Carmocha instead. ACTIVITIES: While I didn't partake, there were plenty of family friendly activities going on. There are bikes to rent, a cactus walk, kids activities throughout the day, a fire for smores (you have to buy a smores kit from the Camino Springs Market) at night, and on the evening I was there they showed a movie at the pool. Overall, service was good, the facilities were enjoyable, pools were great, and food was lackluster.

For a long stretch I was here…read moreconstantly: several times a month, hundreds of dollars a visit, all on my Fantasy Rewards card. So when I say they lost a genuinely loyal customer, I've got the play history to prove it. And they lost me over twenty dollars. The short version: I had a $20 cash-out ticket that went a little past its expiration. Took it to the cashier. Rather than pull up the rewards card that was literally in the machine when I printed it -- the thing that proves the ticket was mine -- they voided it, took the paper, and spent the whole interaction insisting they weren't "keeping" my money, just "voiding" it. Either way, I walked out with nothing and no explanation, and they walked off with my $20 and, as it turns out, all my future business. As for the property: it feels old and worn to me. The machines and the floor give off a tired, run-down vibe, and if you're not into sitting at slots there's basically nothing here -- no sports bar, no variety, not much atmosphere. I've never had a meal here I'd recommend. The one exception, credit where it's due, is the Rock Yard; the outdoor shows are legitimately fun and the only part of this place I'll miss. Here's the real tell, though: Agua Caliente, which isn't even a place I'm crazy about, treats its guests noticeably better than this. And Augustine is on another level entirely -- the service they give locals and regulars is genuinely excellent, the exact opposite of what I got here. When the casino you don't even love is better, and the locals' spot is in a completely different class, that says everything about where Fantasy Springs put a loyal regular on its priority list. The point is a casino looked at a regular who spent real money here consistently and decided a $20 voucher was the hill to die on. They won the twenty. They lost the customer. I'm taking my money to Augustine, where they actually act like they want repeat guests.

We will definitely come back just because of this service alone. On other days Elvia was super helpful, always aware of who needed water poolside and anticipated when we wanted to order food and drinks. We went one day without any room refresh service that the hotel made up for with extra waters and detailed service the next day. The only thing I'd recommend to the hotel is to do more detailed cleanup of their buildings on the exterior areas, especially in the corners. Lots of dust and webs. I think this level of detail would help elevate the feel.

Wow, wow, wow! This hotel was exactly what I needed. From the moment I arrived, all I wanted to do…read morewas stay, relax, and enjoy every bit of the property and that's exactly what I did. The views of the lake were absolutely beautiful. One of my favorite moments was sitting outside in the morning with a good book, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. There is also an outdoor patio area where you can eat and take in the scenery. I loved seeing the fireplaces around the property too; I can imagine how cozy they must be during the cooler months. Now let's talk about one of the biggest perks: the pool is truly open 24 hours. Not "almost" 24 hours, actually 24 hours! I definitely took advantage of that and found myself enjoying the heated pool at 1:00 a.m. It was such a relaxing experience and something you don't find at many hotels. What really made this stay stand out, though, was the customer service. Every single employee I encountered was kind, welcoming, and eager to help. From check-in to check-out, the staff went above and beyond to make sure I had a great stay. The only potential downside is that there are no elevators. It wasn't an issue for me, but if you're traveling with a lot of luggage or have mobility concerns, it's something to keep in mind. I wasn't able to try the complimentary breakfast, which is offered from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., so I can't speak on the food. But based on the rest of my experience, I would absolutely stay here again. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway with beautiful views, a heated pool you can enjoy anytime, and outstanding customer service, this place is definitely worth a visit.

Title: Beautiful hotel - but a confirmed booking was suddenly withdrawn…read more I truly wanted to love this hotel. In fact, I still wish our stay there had worked out. For context: every two years, I donate my time to mentor a small group of aspiring photographers who fly in to work with me for about a week. It's a non-profit initiative that continues the legacy of my own mentor when I was a teenager. For the upcoming workshop, we planned to start with two days around the Salton Sea, and this hotel looked like a wonderful fit. After some research, we contacted the hotel and asked if they could match an offer we had received for this hotel from the German travel portal HRS for five double rooms (two beds per room) for $1,848 all-inclusive for two nights, including breakfast. It was slightly above our budget, but we were willing to make it work. The sales manager replied: "I think I can work with you on the rate. I just want to make sure a single king-size bed in each room is ok and if 6 rooms will be enough for your group." We confirmed that arrangement, adjusted our group so most participants would share beds for the two nights, and accepted the sixth room offered to accommodate everyone. We then: - confirmed the booking - received and returned the credit card authorization form - drove to the hotel to inspect the property in person - cancelled the alternatives we had on hold Two days later, we received another message from the hotel explaining that the rate had been misunderstood internally -- it had been read as $1,848 per night rather than for the two-night stay. Unfortunately, despite a long email exchange, the hotel ultimately declined to honor the arrangement and suggested we look elsewhere. The result: we had to restart the search on short notice, and I will now make another 500-mile round trip to inspect the replacement hotel. That was disappointing, especially because the property itself looked lovely and we were genuinely excited about staying there. Mistakes can happen in any business. What matters is how they are handled. In this case, the solution was to ask the customer to absorb the consequences. If you plan to stay here, I would recommend confirming rates and all conditions very carefully, particularly since they upcharge a resort rate - and when scouting it, it felt like a very nice small boutique hotel to me, far away from a resort (which was fine to me, as we were looking for a place to sleep and leave after breakfast ;-)
