Amazing experience here and super nice for the price. Feels like a chic motel that's been converted to a super cool trendy hotel / resort. The classic orange colors throughout are so cool.

    Eww Cockroach's!

I am currently staying at the hotel and have encountered a significant issue with large cockroaches in my room. It's 8:45 PM, and despite calling and visiting the front desk, there is no staff available to assist me, as the office seems to have closed early. Unfortunately, this leaves me in a difficult position, as I'll likely need to find alternative accommodations for the night. I'm disappointed by the lack of assistance and presence of staff on the property. I could not find one person on site. Based on this experience, it is unlikely I would choose to stay here again. A hotel stay should be clean, comfortable, and service-oriented. I hope they will address this matter urgently. They're literally crawling up my wall!

    Cute little touches throughout

My friends and I have an annual trip every year to come to this quaint little resort nearby to all the shops and restaurants and do a resort takeover (we literally rent out all the rooms). This is one of the small boutique places you can actually do without breaking the bank and we love it. The staff are so accommodating and friendly that we wouldn't even think to go anywhere else. The resort recently upgraded their rooms so no more kitchenettes (bummer!) but there are still spacious rooms, good lighting, floor length mirrors, Nepresso coffee makers and comfortable beds. The resort rooms circle around the outdoor pool and fire pit areas which are great for entertaining friends. There's plenty of seating and lounge chairs available and it's a great vibe to rest and relax. If you're into shopping and dining, it's a quick walk from the resort to Paseo. You can also take one of their many bicycles on property too. If you long for a fun drive, the Mojave is a great place to start as you head down highway 74. From there you can hit Julian (they have great pies), Idyllwild (great dining spots) or the one of a kind Garage 79 off Highway 79. By the time you get back to the Mojave you'll either want to jump in the pool or cozy up fireside. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Work took me to Palm Desert, and based upon my wonderful stay at the Mojave Resort, I hope to return soon for a longer trip. The historic mid century modern motel has re-opened after renovation and is immaculate. The motel is located in a quiet and safe residential neighborhood, close to Palm Desert's high end shops. The decor is pleasing without being over the top, and after viewing some of the similar motels in the area, I especially appreciated the tasteful continuity of design elements, with modernized "vintage" elements to provide a top notch experience. I arrived after hours and was pleased to check into a room with gentle lighting and AC ready to go. It was incredibly quiet. The bed was shockingly comfortable and the pillows were luxurious. All the linens were high quality and I especially liked the cotton towels. The bathroom area had a large closet, and I very much appreciated the lovely coffee maker. The credenza and fridge were stocked with for purchase snack and beverage options. Breakfast delivery can be at either 8 or 9 (you choose), and the fare is simple and light. My traveler's stomach was pleased with the options! The morning was lovely, I wandered out to check out the courtyard in the daylight, and was immediately bummed I didn't have a swimsuit with me. If you are looking for unique and restful experience, with motel staff who go the absolute extra mile and are effortlessly friendly, I highly recommend the Mojave Resort. Next time I come back for work, I hope they will have openings. I also showed my boss the motel while there and he is thinking about whether we could use it for a work team meeting!

A beautiful Botique hotel with personalized service. Started out with a welcome cocktail and escort to our poolside room to explain all the amenities; daily continental breakfast, sundown toast at fire pits & hotel bicycles to use whenever.

We stayed at Mojave Resort at the end of March while visiting LaQuinta for a friend's wedding. We were SO IMPRESSED. First of all, it was a value priced room, but didn't feel like it. It had a cool retro vibe, but was super quiet, comfy, and had lots of nice amenities. Did I mention we were impressed?!? The bed was luxuriously soft and cozy, the room had a kitchenette complete with mini-stove, mini fridge, coffee maker, even a toaster! This resort has classic bungalow style and old Hollywood charm, and with only 24 rooms, gave it an almost private -resort-like feel. Each room has it's own little patio, too. The hot tub & pool were spotless and we didn't see many other guests there, so again, it almost felt like it was "ours". The grounds were IMMACULATELY maintained. The street along the resort was quiet, as it was off the main street, you didn't get any thru traffic and thus, no road noise interruptions - so a blissful night's sleep! The gentleman at the front desk was wonderful - friendly and personable. Also, there was controlled entry after hours, so it felt safe and secure. IMPRESSED! BONUS - This resort is an easy, short walk to the Shops at El Paseo! This is like the Rodeo Drive of LaQuinta. High end shops like Tiffany & Co, Louis Vuitton, Saks, Fendi, Tommy Bahama, art & jewelers and ALL the dining options with bomb Happy Hours almost everywhere. Actually, I'd say it's posh like Rodeo Dr. meets South Beach Miami. If we found ourselves in this area of the Palm Desert again, we'd definitely stay at the Mojave Resort again! (P.S. - Ignore Paula C's weird review, she seems like a kook...look at all the other great stays!)

lovely stay... welcome drink... beautiful scenery... my boyfriend and I loved this stay and will be coming back... the full moon was in effect at our arrival and it just set the whole trip off. the sunrise in the morning was even more breathtaking. nice room, comfortable spacious bed and soft linens.. full bar and the option of breakfast treats in the morning. i'd recommend it to any one looking for a good stay.

I gave 5 stars solemnly based on the PREVIOUS management, as I have not yet visited the long awaited, freshly renovated resort. Unfortunately due to no kids allowed, I will not be coming back. Would love to though if the rules were to change in the future! For any families out there looking for something similar, check out Hotel Paseo. It's right next door!

My stay at Mojave resort was nothing short of amazing! From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. They were warm, professional, and attentive. They even deliver breakfast every morning. This resort, having recently been renovated, is stunning! They kept the mid-century charm and added immaculate grounds and a serene ambience that perfectly completes the surrounding desert landscape. Every detail, from the lush pool area to the spacious well appointed rooms, made my stay incredibly relaxing. Part of me wants to keep this all to myself, but it is too good not to share. If you visit the area, this is where you want to stay. I can't wait to go back.

    Breakfast starter! Yummy

A girls trip for a weekend in January started with a welcome drink, and shortly after a sunrise salute. Anthony was super attentive and let the fire pits for us as we had great conversation and drinks. The rooms were clean and cozy and near the pool and outdoor seating area.. There were bikes to use and a Jacuzzi pool were heated with plenty of towels available.. the ice machine worked like a gem and a perfect breakfast starter was outside the door on the table each morning. Housekeeping was great supplied clean towels and tidying up the room each day. It's a great location for dinner and shopping and the staff is terrific.!

Great kitchy little getaway spot for a night. Peaceful, good location and the rooms are a step back in time from the 70's. It could use some refurnished pieces but for the price, it was fine. It was really nice to have a full kitchen as well. PS. My stay was in October 2019. I just saw that this post was unfinished when I was posting another review.

This was a family/work trip, and we chose the hotel for the kid-friendly water features (ages 8 and 3). The room was very dated (so expect that going in) but very clean--I could tell by how clean my kids' feet stayed after running around barefoot. The king room with a pull-out couch was a big plus. The hotel accommodated our request for a ground-floor room with easy access to the main areas. Being able to walk from our patio to the restaurants in about two minutes made things much easier with kids. The "water park" is more of a well-done kids pool and splash pad than a full water park, but the kids still had a great time. Poolside service was great--generous portions, and the kids loved their chicken tenders and fries. I didn't enjoy a drink myself but the drink menu was tempting and others seemed to be enjoying themselves. We were excited about the breakfast buffet at the Desert Pearl. Pricing was reasonable for kids, though the adult options weren't especially appealing so I decided to pass. What really stood out was the staff--every single person we encountered (front desk, restaurant staff, bellman, security, and pool team) was friendly, patient, and accommodating. When we discovered after checkout that my son left his lovey there, they drove me back via golf cart to try to retrieve it. Overall, everyone offered a level of service made a lasting impression. The only downside was finding quite a few mosquitoes and a moth in the room, likely due to our proximity to the lake. If the room were a bit more updated, pest-free, and did not come with the Coachella tax we paid, this would've easily been a 5-star stay for us.

Great decision. This is a newer property and it shows. Everything felt clean, modern, and well kept. My room was quiet, comfortable, and exactly what I needed. The air conditioning gets seriously cold, which is a big win out here. Beds were comfortable, and the mini fridge was actually spacious enough for drinks and snacks, which is not always the case. I used the pool a few times. It is decent, though there is not a ton of shade and the metal chairs get very hot in the sun, so just be aware. Breakfast is included and offers plenty of options to get your day started. It is not trying to be anything fancy, but it is more than sufficient and better than expected for this category. Location wise, you are a short drive, about 15 minutes, from El Paseo, but there are several walkable dining options nearby that are better than average. The night I stayed it was $1,000 and many nights are in the $600-700 or above range. You won't find prices under $500. With that in mind it should be luxury. There's nothing luxury here. It's fine, it's clean, it's nice. First the staff, everyone is great. Very friendly, helpful, informative. So no problems there. So I think it's the management and the operator of the hotel. Inside the rooms, even after a recent renovation, it's just fine. There's nothing noticeable and there's nothing I'll think about or mention as a great part of the room. Everything is fine. During conferences or events, they may close certain parts of the hotel to other guests. That happened to me but didn't affect my impression of the hotel. I did speak with front desk to get some fees waived due to facilities being closed to non-conference guests. The other thing is with this resort fees, there's nothing worth any value included. So they advertise fitness facility and internet. That is basic and should be included in the rate, not resort fee. If you want to use the sauna in the spa, that's another $50 day pass fee on top of the resort fee. I understand other hotels do this but I am not into normalizing this. This is more a practice in the US, when you travel to Asia and Europe, saunas are at least included. Fees on top of rates on top of fees is a continuing practice at US hotels that I will be calling out and reflecting in reviews and to hotel staff. Anyway, I wouldn't recommend this hotel.
