My second stay at the Skylark! The construction is done. The murals are adorable. The pool and cabanas are charming. There is a filtered water filing station. The beds are hands down mushy clouds my dreams are made of. The pool is open 24 hrs. Thisis Def my new go to in Palm Springs.

Hotels in Palm Springs are expensive!!! Fortunately the Skylark is one of the more slightly more affordable ones, most recently $450 total for 2 nights. I believe its finishing up a major remodeling. Despite being a 70 year old building, it looks mostly new with that cool vintage mid century modern style. I might stay here again someday. PROS: -Vintage Mid Century Modern that just feels so freaking cool. -Large, clean, spacious room with MCM furniture and decor. -Comfy supportive king sized bed. -Fridge, coffee/tea maker, robes, microwave, LCD TV -Pool & Hot Tub open 24/7...though that could be bad thing. -Free Breakfast! I had no idea! Had waffles, egg fritata, crispy bacon, cereal, fruits, coffee...this will save you at least $20/day from eating out. Orange juice too...bring your own Champagne? -One of the cheaper hotels in pricy Palm Springs. -Free Parking -Friendly staff CONS: -It's an older outdoor hotel, so more noise comes through the door and ceiling if you're on the bottom floor. Earplugs are offered :) -Bathroom shower is vintage, in a bad way: a small standup stall, that still needs some remodeling, including patching a hole. -Not much in walking distance. Especially on a hot sunny day! But it should only cost $7-10 to Uber/Lyft to downtown.

This hotel saved my butt last minute! I had a cancelled flight that brought me into the area a day early and i didn't have anywhere to squat - this hotel has fantastic reviews so i gave it a shot and it lived up! The pool smells so clean, the rooms are spotless and the staff are so kind. I am pleasantly relieved at how soft the bed is, how cute the breakfast area is too. I would definitely recommend them!

A great hotel choice in the little Italy section of Palm Springs. This laid back approach of excellent service, mindful housekeeping , clean and well decoyed rooms that were spacious and welcoming. Close to walls to the mid century part of palms springs and walkable to downtown for many. This is a new charming renovated place worth a look, with a great restaurant attached.

A 1950's motel recently remodeled (some parts still under construction, the Skylark has the pros-and-cons of being a vintage motel. The pros: It's scrupulously clean--inside and out. My room was spotless, the linens and towels were excellent. I couldn't ask for a cleaner room. The staff is uniformly nice and helpful. The BEDS were very COMFORTABLE. The hotel was QUIET. The included BREAKFAST was delicious--lots of crisp bacon, an egg frittata, cereal, yogurt, toast and bagels. The cons: It's under construction (though I heard no construction noise over the weekend). It's basically an old motel, so the bathroom, while spotlessly clean, could have used work on the shower (though there was plenty of water pressure and hot water. The blackout curtains don't overlap, so it can feel as if they're not completely closed. Since the walkway is right outside the window, that can feel like a privacy issue. I'd suggest they add blinds behind the curtains. Bottom Line: Would I stay there again? Yes!

We were in Palm Springs for pride weekend (unexpectedly) and it was challenging to find a place to stay. This was one of the few options close enough to the main strip, so we book it sight unseen. I must admit that when we pulled up to this property I was a bit concerned. It looks like a sad, dilapidated old motel, but once you walk into the main space, it is clean, quiet, and has a nice pool and hot tub. The rooms were pretty basic, but newly renovated and offered what we needed. The whole place is under a huge renovation and I'm sure it will be really nice once it's completed. The staff were friendly and they served a free breakfast in the morning, which was a plus. I would stay here again.

    Love this hotel!

My second stay at Skylark in the past year - only gets better and looking forward to staying for the third time in August 2023. Realize they are refreshing their front entrance, so that is exciting and as a guest the renovations were barely noticeable and not intrusive. I really love this hotel for all the reasons other 5-star reviews have mentioned, so here is my succinct summary: 1. Get a deluxe room, a small upcharge but very nice and worth the nominal increase, 2. Hot tub always on / always hot (my experience is often a hotel hot tub is down for maintenance or the temperature is set low to reduce energy costs), not at Skylark - it is wonderful. 3. Breakfast / coffee set up - just what you need before starting your day. 4. Pool - Immaculate, clean, plenty of NEW pool towels, new chairs / and brand-new umbrellas. It is clear the management is not stepping over dollars to pick up pennies at the expense of guests. Finally, communications via text with Steve, as I was arriving later than normal - were fantastic and welcoming. Thank you Skylark hotel, and see you soon.

Great hotel for the cost, but the rooms need some TLC. The pool area has a great vibe and plenty of lounges. Ice machine and water dispenser located near the pool to keep you hydrated during hot days. The hosted breakfast is very nice and plenty of options. Staff is friendly and helpful. I enjoy the BYOB rules on drinks at the pool area. The pool also has an amazing view of the moutians. The grounds are very well kept, which makes me think the rooms would have similar upkeep. Unfortunately the rooms are a bit run down and need paint, revamp and better constructed beds and furniture. The beds look like they are going to far apart. The bathroom and showers have paint falling off. The AC units are dated, along with the furniture. I would recommend this hotel, but with a warning that the rooms are rough.

Skylark is an awesome little boutique hotel that is super close to downtown Palm Springs. Driving is literally ten minutes or less, there's plenty of street parking if you can't fit into the tiny parking lot in the back of the hotel. The complimentary breakfast is much better than I expected, there are waffles on weekends. Everything is to go with pandemic going on but I felt very safe and you can eat outside by the pool. The pool and hot tub were well maintained. You have to ask the front desk for pool towels. There is a microwave you can use in their office. Minor downside is that you have to pay a "resort" fee which I am not sure what it really covers. It's $25 per day. And the showers leave something to be desired as the shower head is not adjustable so it's just a strong spray of water hitting the wall and not really on you. Plus it's very dark and cramped in the shower but it gets the job done.

On 1/1, while using the hot tub on site, the chlorine stripped the dye right out of the fabric of my swimsuit within about 10 minutes. By the next morning, my partner's swim shorts were also bleached and permanently damaged. The photos speak for themselves - this was severe chemical damage, not normal wear. While we were at the pool that day, a staff member told us the hot tub had been chlorinated that morning. Two of our personal items were ruined after a single use following same-day maintenance. The total replacement cost for my swimsuit alone is $240. Fabriv damage occurring within minutes is commonly associated with significantly elevated chlorine levels, not normal use. Given how quickly the dye was stripped from our swimwear, this raised serious concerns about whether the facilities were safe for guests to be using at that time. What's far more upsetting than the damage itself is the hotel's lack of response. We reported this while still on property and followed up multiple times afterward. Management was dismissive, denied responsibility, and told us to take it up with Booking.com. Since then, Booking.com has attempted multiple times to contact the hotel on our behalf and the property has not responded at all. Accidents happen. Equipment issues happen. But refusing to acknowledge a clear problem, deflecting responsibility, and then completely ignoring repeated attempts to resolve it is unacceptable. The lack of accountability and communication is what truly ruined this experience.

It's fine, it's clean, it's nice. First the staff, everyone is great. Very friendly, helpful, informative. So no problems there. So I think it's the management and the operator of the hotel. Inside the rooms, even after a recent renovation, it's just fine. There's nothing noticeable and there's nothing I'll think about or mention as a great part of the room. Everything is fine. During conferences or events, they may close certain parts of the hotel to other guests. That happened to me but didn't affect my impression of the hotel. I did speak with front desk to get some fees waived due to facilities being closed to non-conference guests. The other thing is with this resort fees, there's nothing worth any value included. So they advertise fitness facility and internet. That is basic and should be included in the rate, not resort fee. If you want to use the sauna in the spa, that's another $50 day pass fee on top of the resort fee. I understand other hotels do this but I am not into normalizing this. This is more a practice in the US, when you travel to Asia and Europe, saunas are at least included. Fees on top of rates on top of fees is a continuing practice at US hotels that I will be calling out and reflecting in reviews and to hotel staff. Anyway, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. Another thing I like about this place is that because there aren't many people (max 40 people at a time) it is highly likely you will get the pool to yourself. When I checked out and left the property I told my husband I would enjoy staying here again. I really enjoyed my stay here and highly recommend you stay here too.
