While the venue is nice, the service are expensive and there aren't that many amenities available such as a pool or a regular sized hot tub. There was a fountain they told us you could take a dip in but it's shallow and you can't swim in it. I had the Spring Awakening Citrus Blossom Body Therapy Massage. This is a different massage that includes water therapy. My masseuse was very nice and attentive. She walked me through the entire process so that I would feel comfortable. It hasn't been updated in 50 years It was not a good experience don't highly recommend this hotel even though the staff is very accommodating the rooms really bad it looks like they went to IKEA or HomeGoods and put a bunch of random furniture in the room. I was with a bunch of girls and we all agree that it looked like we were in A neighborhood with a bunch of condos did not feel like we are in a resort or spa. You would think the manager would've comped the room being that it was so bad he did not do that he said that we're lucky that we got a cancellation fee waived. So, I love this place, it's magical, smells like orange blossoms and jasmine all the time and I even had my wedding reception here, but get this.. my family and I rented a villa, with two rooms. In side the villa are 3 doors, where you can lock from the outside, but you can't exactly lock on the inside. So, my daughters were escaping. So we could never take a nap and we're stressing out cause they could be locked out. I called the front gate to tell them what was going on and they sent a maintenance man in two seconds and he put lock chains on all of the doors!! Which is so awesome, now we can fully relax and not panic that the kids were going to escape and fall in a pool. Obviously, the resorts legal team would jump on service that would potentially derail any liabilities; however, what I have found is the same kind of reaction time is typically not found in the local staff and La Quinta Resort Staff knocked it put of the park. This place takes the cake! It is absolutely flawless in every way! The property is endless...You can literally jump into a pool every 5-10 steps you take...there are 41 pools and 53 hot tubs!!! Checking in is always a breeze and the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and proactive, in fact the entire staff is! They go above and beyond the call of duty, treating everyone on the property as if they were old friends or royalty. Expect the luxury of a Waldorf property but the friendliness of a small town in Iowa. I have stayed here several times and they take care of me VERY WELL! Every single time!. I am so thankful and appreciative of everyone on this staff. They make you feel as if you are right at home! With so much history on this property the Frank Capra Suite is one of my favorite themed rooms... My favorite of all time is the one bedroom Spa Villa Corner Suite on the ground floor! Talk about flawless! Full Kitchen and island, fireplace, huge living room with pullout bed, huge comfortable chairs and a bathroom with a full shower, french door opening to a HUGE front patio with seating for 6 or more! HUGE bedroom and master bath with double sided fireplace so you can see it from the bathroom or the bedroom. Step up a few steps into the large bathtub or step into the walk-in shower. Off the bedroom are french doors opening up to the back deck with lounge chairs and 5 steps to basically your own private pool and hot tub....talk about easy, breezy paradise! In the spa suite...you only have to walk about 20 steps to the world-class spa! The spa is a MUST!. Whether you have never been to a spa before or are a regular spa goer.... They have a world class team here and well being flows thru the spa abundantly. It is paradise, it really is. I love that it is coed and you can be inside or outside in the desert heat while relaxing. The massages are the best my man & I have had! You HAVE to get the HYDRAFACIAL....it is hard to find a place that has this technology and people that have the know how...but Spa La Quinta is definitely one of them! This facial is THE BEST facial you will ever have EVER! My face has never been so clean. It is literally like having 7 different facials in one and done is 90 minutes. It is the most relaxing (I fell asleep) facial on the planet. Prices in the summer are unbeatable. The downside is it's ghastly hot in the summer in La Quinta -- but that's not their fault! We loved our visit. Most of the staff was crazy-good helpful -- as in, would walk half a mile in the hot sun to get batteries for my son's toy and bring said batteries back with a smile. The rooms are decorated in Spanish/Mediterranean style (curved wrought iron, blue doors, Spanish roof tiles) and may be a bit dated but the AC worked great and the room was sizeably comfortable. The food & beverage service poolside improved when we rented a cabana (only $89 for all day in the welcome shade, a bargain to us), which came with unlimited refreshing lemonade, iced tea and water in pitchers, as well as a fresh fruit platter. When the number of guests dipped at the hotel on Monday, however, so did the hours of the poolside food/bev service. They closed early and let the servers go home. Overall, the price, comfort and service is something we would say yes to again! read more

*** This review is for the reservation staff only, NOT the hotel. Booked my reservation online through a third party (HotelPower)on Trip advisor May 18th. Called La Quinta the 22nd and there was no record of my reservation. I decided to call Hotel Power to find out what happened. Then when I called Hotel Power they told me to call La Quinta. Hotel Power kept saying La Quinta hadn't given them a confirmation # yet and that they would call me that night or the following morning when this was accomplished . Never happened. The La Quinta operators could care less and offered no solutions . This circle of calling went back and forth for two days and about 7 phone calls. I'd asked to speak with a manager at Hotel Power and was told there was none available at the moment , what?????!! So I called La Quinta again and asked to speak to a manger there after the operator I was speaking with offered no solutions or suggestions yet again. I spoke with a reservation supervisor named Teresa Mora. She also could not find my reservation. Instead of giving up like the previous operators did , she continued the phone call with me as I connected Hotel Power on the line so we could all figure out what happened. She was told that she would need to contact yet another company affiliated w Hotel Power that would know what happened to my reservation. Teresa told me that she would call them and get back to me . Sometime had passed and she called me to let me know that although the situation wasn't resolved yet, she was still working on it . I really appreciated her updating me. Eventually she found out that the reservation was in fact no longer valid for some odd reason. Hotel Power never contacted me to let me know my reservation had been cancelled and their own operators didn't see this on my reservation either apparently when I'd called several times prior. The charge was still on the card though . WTH?! Instead of just letting me know the reservation was cancelled, Teresa took it upon herself to rebook my reservation. I'm told that I have a Resort Casita w a garden view which is an upgrade from the basic standard room. Furthermore, she emailed me a confirmation number so that at check in I'd have no issues. The fumble seemed to have happened on Hotel Power's end and still Teresa took care of it. I really appreciate Teresa's professionalism and follow through. I'm really looking forward to my stay at La Quinta Resort this Memorial weekend, thanks Teresa! I knocked off one star because the other operators I dealt with prior to Teresa were rather curt in their manner and not solutions orientated whatsoever. We loved the setting of Spanish architecture surrounded by desert and other plants-succulents, cacti, bougainvillea and fruit trees-with a backdrop of blue mountains. We stayed in a Starlight Casita and enjoyed the private patio with the comfy outdoor couch and fireplace at night. The dinner at Morgan's was wonderful. May I recommend the black fusilli creamy seafood pasta? The seafood and pasta ratio was great-almost as much seafood as pasta so my carb limiting self didn't feel as guilty. The lobster salad was good. My husband enjoyed the apple cake dessert. I'm not an apple pie kind of person, so to me it was meh. Skip the room service breakfast. It was not very good at all. This place is huge. Its like a mini city of casitas and pools. And then more casitas and pools. Very little grounds to speak of. They do have a huge number of tennis courts which are kept up really well. And they're free to use at night. The bad part of all the pools is the lack of lounge chairs at each. This keeps the pools quiet, but can also leave you searching for somewhere to set up. The place is also pet-friendly. Good if you have a pet. Not so good if you don't want to go swimming with dirty dogs. And I'm a dog person. To be fair, that's on the guests, not the hotel. The cleaning in the room is suspect at best. The bathroom counter when we got there just wasn't clean. And there was a towel on the floor of the commode room before we got there. When we left, it was still there. Clearly the cleaning person just wasn't doing a very thorough job. The description yelp gives to 2-stars, "Meh, I've experienced better" pretty much sums up our feelings exactly. read more

Ah La Quinta Resort and Spa, this is a very personal opinion. While this resort is very beautiful and private and well kept. Great service and staff. I over heard a lot of apologies for certain issues at the restaurants. We experienced flies outside while eating breakfast which moved us inside,we r her July 17-19. Flies are an issue right now. I don't mind paying for great food but it wasn't great here anywhere. The resort itself is spectacular!! But for me personally I prefer staying in the center of Palm Springs at a smaller 4 star hotel with easy access to everything! read more

Love this resort. It's beautiful & we have been several years in a row during stagecoach weekend. This year the housekeeping was a little lacking. The first day they never came to clean so I had to call, they did the same thing in my friends room. The third day they didn't come to clean until after 4pm. Since we spend most of the day out by the pool it would be nice if they cleaned while we were out. This is the first time we have ever had issues with housekeeping at the resort. read more

Beautiful location and facilities but to many out of control kids made our "romantic getaway" not so romantic. Some kid on a scooter ran into my wife while we were walking back from dinner. The resort knows that it's a problem as there were signs posted asking parents to control their children but to no avail. Next time we'll look for an adults only location. read more

July 7, 2014 I stayed at the La Quinta Resort and Spa in La Quinta, California from Friday, June 28, 2014 until Sunday, June 30, 2014. This hotel is part of the Hilton family. If you want to hear about poor service, spiders and cockroaches, read on. I was initially offered a newly renovated unit in southwest section of the property when I checked in. As soon as I entered the room however, I realized that it had recently been painted and that the smell would be too much to bear. The front desk gladly and quickly offered me a new room. No harm - no foul ... so far. As soon as I got settled in the new room, I sat down to watch a movie, but the remote didn't work. A member of the maintenance staff came by with a replacement about 10 minutes after I reported the problem to the front desk. These things happen, and I had no problem with the time it took the attendant to get to the room, but once there, he made it painfully awkward as he ambled around and repeatedly looked down to my hand while obviously waiting for a tip. I have no problems tipping for good service, but I feel no need to tip when a staff member is simply getting the room in the condition that it should have been in the first place. I finally walked him to the door with a polite "thank you." As I was watching the movie, I notice a spider about the size of a quarter walking across the white bed spread. After grabbing some tissue, I killed it and went to sleep wondering if I'd gotten a loner or just the "scout." When I woke up the next morning and went to make a cup of coffee, I found that there was no coffee to go with the creamer, sugar and coffee maker that were provided. Ok, to recap; newly painted room, dead remote, uncomfortable visit by maintenance staff, spider and no coffee ... so far. The second night was uneventful until about 4:00 am when I awoke in a haze because something was making my scalp itch. As I brushed my head, I felt something move and I immediate startled awake. I knocked whatever it was across the bed, thinking it was another spider. I then jumped up and turned on the light just in time to see a three-inch cockroach running across the bedspread. After wrapping it up in the bedspread, smashing it a few time and thinking I killed it, I opened the cover to see that it was still moving. I then grabbed a hand towel and smashed it repeatedly until I was sure it was dead. Despite trying for the next two hours to get back to sleep, it wasn't happening. There's NEVER just one cockroach. And so ends what I'd hoped was a little three day get-away vacation to the desert. I told the front desk staff about all of these issues when I checked out and I left the dead cockroach on a face towel in the middle of the bed in my room. It's now over a week later, and I still haven't heard so much as a whisper from management, which tells me everything I need to know about the staff and leadership of this property. I just wish I didn't absolutely HAVE to stay at this toilet when I attend a conference next January. read more

The spa villas are beautiful. I prefer the single story two bedroom with three private patios. Exquisite and stunning.
