Pros: the One Bedroom Villa is generously sized at 800 sq. ft. and includes a full kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, microwave, as well as washer and dryer, along with a separate living and dining area. Plenty of space to spread out! Cons: despite ample counter space, there's only one, regularly sized sink in the bathroom--if I were in charge of remodeling, I'd make it a pair or an oversized one... While perfectly adequate, the furnishings are rather dated in general, and the property overall could definitely benefit from a refresh. read more

My stay was negatively impacted by the hotel sprinklers spraying my vehicle overnight. The water left severe hard-water spots across the top surfaces of my car, and after washing the vehicle multiple times, the marks are still visible and feel rough to the touch. This appears to be more than normal water spotting and may require professional detailing or paint correction. I expected my vehicle to be safe while parked at the property, and this caused avoidable damage and stress during/after my stay. I would like Hyatt Desert Oasis to take responsibility and contact me about compensation, including reimbursement for a professional detail/paint correction or an appropriate credit/refund for the inconvenience and damage. To improve, please inspect and adjust the sprinkler coverage near guest parking so vehicles are not sprayed, and block affected spaces. read more

Overall: 3.2/5 We came here to decompress after Coachella and the hotel is roughly 10 minutes from the Palm Springs Airport. It was the perfect spot for what we needed, a washer and dryer to clean our dusty camping clothes, a huge mini suite with a full kitchen, and a pool and jacuzzi that closes at 10 PM. Both pools were warm which was nice but the adult pool had a lot of sand and dirt in it and the family pool was cloudy. They also offer on-site activities that change daily, a lounge where you can hang out, play board games, or shoot some billiards, and more. Just be aware they do charge a resort fee. We were able to check in early which was a nice bonus and gave us a place to work. There is also a small cafe by the family pool that is open until 5 PM and we stopped by during happy hour to grab some food. The Crispy Chicken Tenders ($9) came with 3 pieces. Parts of them were good and crispy but other parts had batter that tasted mushy and undercooked. Some of the fries had the same issue and came out very starchy. The Desert Dog ($9) is supposed to come with a side of potato chips but we got fries instead. Some of those fries were undercooked as well. We received a naked hot dog which was honestly not as good as a Costco hot dog. The Sausage, Egg and Cheese Croissant ($6) was smaller and less flavorful than a Jimmy Dean and the croissant wasn't flaky at all. read more

I stayed here for pride. I'm a part of the Hyatt vacation club, and I like this room and how close it was to the restaurants and the nightlife. I liked the desert color palette the rooms were decorated around I booked the 1 bedroom and slept on the couch pull out which was fine. The bedroom had a nice view of the landscaping and a sliding glass door to the parking area making it very easy to unpack and call this place home for a few nights. Shower clogged, I called maintenance and it was fixed within an hour before I went out for dinner. I appreciate the customer service at this location. I was locked out of my room and I went to the front desk and they were able to assist me as my family are Welk property owners, Hyatt vacation club owners. read more

My wonderful wife was able to get us a reservation here at the Hyatt Desert Oasis, a first-time visit and first time staying in Cathedral City. This is a nice property. We reserved a studio / 1-bedroom unit, which has a kitchen and washer/dryer. The sofa is a pull-out, which worked for our daughter (21 yo). The pool is central and also has a hot tub; the day was a bit overcast but we still got some sun. There is a pool bar / snack shack that has a good menu of food and drinks and a friendly and helpful staff. There is an activity center for kids of all ages. The property backs up to the Whitewater Basin, which is almost always dry; I share as a reference because this also means no buildings to the west which provides for some beautiful views of Mt. San Jacinto and the San Jacinto Mtns, whip form the border between the Coachella Valley and the Los Angeles Basin; the mountains also help keep the moisture to the west and keep the Coachella Valley and surrounding areas dry. The Coachella Valley Connector is a trail for walking / jogging / running and biking and is right out back; this provides for nice walks at sunrise, sunset and all day and night long. As other had mentioned, sure, the place appears a little older. If you want the newest place with everything shiny, maybe this place isn't for you. However, everything in my room was spotless. I had no issues with anything that didn't work and everything was very clean and neat. I was only there for a few days, so didn't really get time to explore a great deal. There is a walking path nearby that leads up to a golf course. The pool area was fine though a little on the small side. If you want a quaint, nice, little place, this might be for you. Do keep in mind, as another review mentioned, other than that one golf course, it really isn't near much. You can walk to a shopping center, but I think it was 1.1 miles away, so you're really need to walk quite a bit. read more

Date of visit: May 2024 Type of visit: family This hotel/resort is more like a 3-star hotel because the rooms were def in need of renovation. They were old but very clean. I expected an email from the hotel a few days before my reservation from the hotel, but I didn't get a text message until the day before telling me I can check in at 4 PM. Parking is free, but there is no valet. They do not have charging stations for electric vehicles. The first thing I noticed at this hotel is it wasn't accessible. The doors are not automatic. The building with the rooms did not have elevators despite having a second floor. Each room is a one-bedroom villa with a king bed and a queen-sized sofa bed. The bedding is prepared in the room closet, but the sofa bed is not comfortable. The kitchen is fully stacked with appliances (old school coffee machine, toaster, blender, handheld mixer, water boiler) and utensils in the cupboards. There was even Tupperware! No foil or saran wrap though. The dish washer comes with dish-washing pods. The laundry machine and dryer also had detergent and dryer sheets. AC and wifi worked perfectly fine. I also felt misled because their website listed "off-site" amenities that made me think they were "on-site". I did not do anything at this resort besides sleep. I was looking forward to playing some sports or doing more activities at the hotel during my stay. Everything our group did we had to drive, couldn't walk within reason. read more

The website for owners has links to obtain information about their account/contract, and when the link is "clicked," an error message "requested page does not exist". Phone calls to the customer service are a joke, as the reps have no information. Spoke with a rep who out and out lied and gave phony information, which I questioned when she gave it to me. Nonetheless, I called the phone number she gave with other information and that party laughed that the information given does not exist. Stay away from Hyatt Vacation Clubs anywhere. read more

Our family of three went to Hyatt Vacation Club at Desert Oasis during spring break and had a very good time overall. It was a good kick off point to go to Joshua Tree and downtown Palm Springs where were the two areas we planned on visiting on this trip. The hotel is a bit on the older side and our building was having the luggage elevator worked on which meant a lot of noise and stuff in the area as well as no luggage elevator. Other than that inconvenience the property was great. We always love the full kitchen to make breakfast and have lunch/snacks in the room. There are several nice grocery stores very close to the hotel which made stocking up so easy. If preparing food in the room isn't in your plans there are plenty of restaurants in the nearby surrounding area. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub area even though it was windy and only in the 60's in our stay. There is a nice rec room area adjacent to the pool and although we didn't use it there were a few families that we saw in there on both our our pool days. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will likely use it as home base when we visit the area again. read more

This place is a timeshare and is now run by Hyatt. Hyatt recently has taken over all the Welk Resorts properties, and has completed a major renovation of the resort. I recently just stayed there and everything seemed very nice to me. I've stayed at many different timeshares and this place is certainly on par with all the others. I rented out a spacious one bedroom that virtually had everything you would ever need for your stay. The unit had a living room, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you would ever need. Everything was immaculate and well maintained. The only drawback for staying at a place like this is that you will need to get in your car and drive somewhere to have breakfast, unless you want to actually make something for yourself and eat in your room. We spent a relaxing week here with our two young kids. The resort is geared towards families, and they hold activities each day for kids. Some are free and some require a fee. The room was spacious and the kitchen was helpful in saving money since we just hit up Sam's Club and cooked our meals the whole time. They didn't have covered parking so your car gets hot in the desert Sun, and the sofa bed wasn't the most comfortable. Other than that though, our stay was very relaxing. All the staff members were courteous and helpful. It's a well kept property that's a good value for families. read more

I stayed at this vacation club for 2 nights as a World of Hyatt loyalty member, not as a timeshare member. I would certainly stay there again, but it was not a perfect experience. After reading multiple reviews stating that the wifi was spotty, I was delighted to enjoy good wifi service. I did not need to do any Zoom meetings in my room, so I'm not sure if the wifi is strong enough to support Zoom, but wifi was fine for email, web browsing, and downloading podcasts to my iPhone. In my unit, central air conditioning was responsive, accurate, and easy to control. Two ceiling fans also made the unit comfortable. Ceiling lights and lamps were plentiful, but there was no light over the bathtub/shower. The kitchen was well-supplied (e.g. automatic dishwasher pods, Palmolive for handwashing, plenty of paper towels and cotton towels, laundry supplies, hot cocoa, coffee, tea, ice maker, flatware, utensils, plates, glasses, etc.). The unit was clean, but I found a few hairs in the bathroom on the floor and the wall. The location seems extremely safe, and free parking is plentiful. However, my bedroom mattress felt cheap or old, with a part that droops. The living room sofa cushions are too soft and are not supportive. My living room windows needed repair. The left side window screen was bent and falling out of the frame. The right side window wouldn't open. One reason I chose this location was the free access to gas grills. At check-in, the staff told me the grills are open 24-7. They even had free grilling utensils at the ready. Shortly after 10 pm, I tried to turn on the grill based using the posted instructions, but the instructions are outdated and inaccurate. (They refer to turning on an "ON" button and turning on a propane tank, but the grills are now tank-less, now connected to a gas line. No "ON" button exists.) I called the front desk, and a male employee told me he thought the grills were turned OFF after 10 pm. I explained that other staff members told me the grills were ON 24-7. He said Engineering goes home at 10 pm, but he sent a security guard to try to help me. The security guard wasn't sure what to do, but he was able to help me figure out how to turn on the grill. This is the worst Hyatt location we have ever stayed at. This room was probably more than twice the usual price due to the Indian wells tennis tournament. But what a dump. Everything is old and the worst service ever. We asked for bath towels 3 times and it took over an hour for someone to bring them. We had come back from the tournament in the evening tired and since they don't have room cleaning service we were at the mercy of the staff. our 2 kids fell asleep without showering because there were no clean towels. Major noise and construction going on at the golf course, (all along the property) Just checked out on 12/23/24 after what was supposed to be a relaxing week off from work. We paid with our timeshare points and spent 120,000 points - equivalent to about $1700 for the week stay. Upon check in my husband and I (both seniors) requested a quiet location. We were told our villa location on the end would be quiet. First off, the lift was not working and we had to lug all of our luggage and groceries up the stairs. We noticed that there was some construction going on in the golf course which our villa faced but it was off to the left side when we checked in. However the next day it had moved to center front of our villa, starting at 6:30am and lasting till after dark. This went on for the next three days. The fourth and fifth days were the weekend and it was quiet as far as the construction noise. The direct TV in the room was working intermittently and the dish drainer was dirty/moldy upon check-in. The rest of the condo was clean, although the bathrooms are very out dated. we checked out on Monday! The lift was still not working, the front desk simply said "were sorry for the inconveniences". A total waste of 40 hours used up vacation time off. There is no way the Management and front desk didn't know there was construction going right in front of the property. No prior notice was posted when booked or upon check-in. read more

It is reasonably well maintained. The grounds and pool area are very nice. The amenities are good. However the cabinets and drawers are substandard in appearance and function. If you attend a sales presentation count on having the manager come by several times to put the big squeeze on you and leave with a disgusting look on his face when you turn down the offer, a total turn off and shows badly for the rest of the employees trying to put their best foot forward. Something new I never had to contend with before was the incessant barking from dogs being allowed to stay in the units. People are saying they are service dogs but they aren't. Otherwise they would not be barking at people walking by in the paths. I can only guess how many guests have suffered from flea bites. When this was a Welk resort this kind of BS would never fly. Standards need to include that any guest claiming their dog is a "Service" be made to prove it with proper documentation and if it is found that their dog is barking they be removed from the premises ASAP. They have no business annoying guests paying considerable amounts of money for their vacation! read more

I don't even want to say too much about this place because I want to keep it all to myself! Me and my kids come to the Palm Springs area every year for spring break. And this by far is our favorite place. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The rooms are so spacious. The kitchen has everything you need to cook. The washer and dryer inside the room is a bonus. The pool/ pool area is big and has lots of places to layout. You can bring drinks down to the pool area. There is a clubhouse packed with activities for kids and young adults. We went while it was overcast and cold so the jacuzzi was packed with kids splashing and jumping around but other than that...this place is great! read more
