We stayed at the Enclaves side of the resort again. Our room was small, no kitchenette, mini refrigerator- thank goodness we brought a big cooler. Snake Bite pool, upper level was full of drunk loud partiers that security would not address, was not a relaxing environment nor weekend. We had the view of the golf course, but no balcony nor patio on the 3rd floor. Rooms are small and cramped, don't call it a resort m, you'll get peppered by time share pitches your entire stay, so much for R&R and relaxation! Oh, and they checked us out a day earlier than on our online Marriott reservation and what a nightmare that was, along with credit card machines not working at checkout. The place does NOT honor Marriott Titanium Elite members so no early check ins or late check outs (gotta get out of here by 10 am!). Will go back to the JW Marriott instead!

Such a nice resort! Cute pool area and a great golf course attached. Pool drinks were plentiful and tasty! Will definitely stay here again.

Marriott vacation club Sales Gallery: AKA, the trap!

DO NOT ENTER THIS BUILDING! Or you'll be hammered with timeshare sales nonsense pitch. When we checked in at the front desk, Marriott handed me a little card that wanted to me hand to the next desk. The lady on the desk basically talked me and my wife into listening to a 90-minute timeshare sales presentation for a trade of our last night stay to be free. We did take on the offer and went to the 9000 Building. It seems like that whole building is dedicated to timeshare sales. Long story, short: the sales presenter would not take: no, I'm not interested for an answer. Well, I had no problem slapping him around till he and his boss, Mike, gave up. Google Marriott vacation club timeshare experience before going for the presentation, if you decide you'd wanna attend.

We have known Gerardo for years and he is an amazing authentic and compassionate man with a gift to serve. I often state that people and relationship far exceed the location or event and here at JW you get the best of both worlds. Wonderful people and a slice of heaven here in Palm Desert. Veronica provided us a lovely view suite with the comforts of home. Marriott offers the best in their JW lineup and we are so pleased with the amenities, choices of dining and options including the spa, fitness center and even a boat ride around the Facilities. The staff truly made our stay 5 plus stars and tomorrow we celebrate my wife's birthday at Mikado another wonderful option at JW Marriott. Being a Bonvouy card holder the point system, features and membership offers are terrific and we utilize them often. Also Michelle is housekeeping was super efficient and very kind. This was a family/work trip, and we chose the hotel for the kid-friendly water features (ages 8 and 3). The room was very dated (so expect that going in) but very clean--I could tell by how clean my kids' feet stayed after running around barefoot. The king room with a pull-out couch was a big plus. The hotel accommodated our request for a ground-floor room with easy access to the main areas. Being able to walk from our patio to the restaurants in about two minutes made things much easier with kids. The "water park" is more of a well-done kids pool and splash pad than a full water park, but the kids still had a great time. Poolside service was great--generous portions, and the kids loved their chicken tenders and fries. I didn't enjoy a drink myself but the drink menu was tempting and others seemed to be enjoying themselves. We were excited about the breakfast buffet at the Desert Pearl. Pricing was reasonable for kids, though the adult options weren't especially appealing so I decided to pass. What really stood out was the staff--every single person we encountered (front desk, restaurant staff, bellman, security, and pool team) was friendly, patient, and accommodating. When we discovered after checkout that my son left his lovey there, they drove me back via golf cart to try to retrieve it. Overall, everyone offered a level of service made a lasting impression. The only downside was finding quite a few mosquitoes and a moth in the room, likely due to our proximity to the lake. If the room were a bit more updated, pest-free, and did not come with the Coachella tax we paid, this would've easily been a 5-star stay for us.

I can't recommend this resort. There's plenty of other options around the area. We expressed our concerns with the front desk while checking out. They said they'd give our feedback to housekeeping and the pool manager. They totally passed the buck and were unwilling to try and make up for the experience in any way. They weren't apologetic about it at all. I was shocked.

The night I stayed it was $1,000 and many nights are in the $600-700 or above range. You won't find prices under $500. With that in mind it should be luxury. There's nothing luxury here. It's fine, it's clean, it's nice. First the staff, everyone is great. Very friendly, helpful, informative. So no problems there. So I think it's the management and the operator of the hotel. Inside the rooms, even after a recent renovation, it's just fine. There's nothing noticeable and there's nothing I'll think about or mention as a great part of the room. Everything is fine. During conferences or events, they may close certain parts of the hotel to other guests. That happened to me but didn't affect my impression of the hotel. I did speak with front desk to get some fees waived due to facilities being closed to non-conference guests. The other thing is with this resort fees, there's nothing worth any value included. So they advertise fitness facility and internet. That is basic and should be included in the rate, not resort fee. If you want to use the sauna in the spa, that's another $50 day pass fee on top of the resort fee. I understand other hotels do this but I am not into normalizing this. This is more a practice in the US, when you travel to Asia and Europe, saunas are at least included. Fees on top of rates on top of fees is a continuing practice at US hotels that I will be calling out and reflecting in reviews and to hotel staff. Anyway, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. It's fine if you want to check it out. I've stayed at other hotels in the area and would recommend those, esp at this price point you have the world of options.

I own numerous shirts, shorts, and other Tommy Bahama garments. The staff is very unrefined and even came across totally uninterested in helping (at the front desk) and bored. Bar staff having loud personal conversations while ignoring bar patrons. All in all, it just didn't feel like a high-end resort, and there was a general lack of care and attentiveness across the board. A manager checked in with us during our dinner, at which point I communicated that we had been provided no forks for our dessert--and the response was something akin to "I ALWAYS get on them about this!" or "I have to remind them over and over..." So this was apparently a common issue. Again, front desk employees don't care--there was no explaining that there are bikes available to guests or citrus to pick and get juiced. Not welcoming. And barely acknowledged me when I dropped the keys off as I checked out. WiFi was bad in the room--but front desk didn't pick up when I called. Also poor cell service on the property. The food was good and the property looks lovely. Room was nice. Although you could see the bathroom door was swelled from water damage. And that looks tacky. It feels like there's a lack of good candidates for staffing in the desert. And perhaps poor training. I want to feel like the staff wants to be there. Pretend and help keep up the illusion.
