Palmer veterinary clinic

Went to this vet location for my dog's left ear has infection. Doctor was so simple checked ear then recommended me allergic shot or ear infection medication. I told them about allergic or medication was not successes for dog. Then doctor was angry gave up and walked off, told me to go home. Doctor didn't help me more find a way for dog's ear. I was not very impressed with doctor's attitude and walked off from me to leave dog still suffering in ear. I would NOT recommend anyone to go there, I will not go back there ever again, period!

Angela at the front desk is beyond rude, condescending and disrespectful. I cancelled my appointment before it was even attended.

I have been coming to North Star since they were just a small clinic with two rooms... this is the…read morefirst review I have ever written as well because I think it's important to know that just like football seasons.. you may have a good season or bad season w/your team.... North Sar, as of December 2025 has NOT been having a good season. I have had to go in once a month since then & each time i keep asking myself why i go back--maybe it's because I've been going there for so long i want to keep believing a good change will eventually happen. You are rushed through your apt w/holes of information missing & on top of that mis information is absolutely rampant. I have had to call other vet clinics to obtain accurate information (mat-su animal urgent care off of Trunk is incredible BTW it's a shame they only do emergencies) regarding medications & dietary needs. North Star rushes so quickly to get you in and out, forgetting to record details such as doses or weight (these are two that have happened with me multiple times within the last few months). There is no direction given for scheduling follow up apts for regular injections & you are just kinda left in the dark, until you find yourself calling them to ask because you don't know what to do or where to go from there-- because you aren't being directed. Two times now within 4 months I have had a tech apt when I stay on the lobby & they take her in the back without me; both times were so quick it was hard for me to believe what they actually did back there; only to find out they completely slacked on what they said they did: a nail clipping, which I had to go back again for because it clearly wasn't done, and an allergy injection that didn't work because she wasn't given the proper dose because the weight wasn't recorded the last time and they went with a lower dose & it turned into this huge mess where techs forgot the mg of the shot and tried to go back and write it by memory off of weight which clearly wasn't the right one-- basically just trying to fill the holes in her file with more mis information to cover it up which ultimately led to me needing to come back because the results weren't what they were the previous month--when the shot actually worked. --on an off note to this... while this was happening I was talking to another patient in the waiting room, and she was literally in with her Saint Bernard because of the same exact reason!! I am going into such detail, because people need to know that North Stat used to be amazing, they just aren't going through a good season right now. they overbook, they don't train they just throw new employees in the deep end and it's sink or swim (which leads to more mis information). Worst of all... they just don't seem to care. My dog has severe allergies & I got a hair analysis done--giving me EVERYTHING I needed to know... every time I go in there they deny even wanting to see it; they sold me two products that ended up burning her because they didn't want to take the time to read through--then they tell me they'll need to do more tests to figure out what she's allergic to even though I HAVE the info and have asked them over and over if they want me to send it to them and it's met with a wishy washy answer or they don't know where or who I could send it to. I feel sick about it all.... I am not a negative person... I have ZERO social media so it's not like I get off on doing stuff like this... I am just an honest to goodness person who loves my dog & I feel like a complete idiot for continuing to go back because I KEEP HOPING it'll change and it's not it's only getting worse... it's almost comparable to an abusive relationship.... you've invested all your blood sweat tears (and money in this case) and you just keep hoping at some point the shift will happen and it doesn't. RIGHT NOW....I would say stay away from this place, which breaks my heart to say. it's fallen so far. None of this is personal either, there are the facts of the situation--but it becomes personal to a certain point when your furry family members aren't being cared for they way they should. I have tried to genuinely talk to them about this at the beginning of each and every apt as well--asking what's going on, that they just aren't the same place anymore and proceeding to tell my experiences... all I got was an apology. but zero change within the last 5 months now. Just stay away from this place--for this season at least; maybe next season will be better

Well, The unfortunate happened and my little pup had a…read moresmall medical emergency while we were out of town at our cabin. She tore off her dew claw and I didn't know what to do, and couldn't stop the bleeding. I called did a google search and Tier 1 was the closet vet that took walk-ins and could take my pup. The intake was smooth and the wait time was minimal. They were super sweet to me and my little pup and gave us treatment options. They got her all cleaned up, stopped the bleeding and did a great job bandaging her up. The vet and techs made sure I knew how to care for the wound, and even talked to me about making a little dog first aid kit for up at the cabin for any future mishaps (yes I should of had one). They even said that on the way home or anytime I could come back in if the bandage got wet or dirty and they would change it out and clean it again if needed as part of the original service. All in all I was VERY satisfied with the service my pup and I received at Teir 1 and (hopefully I never need it) I'd be happy to go back in another cabin vet emergency case.

Please consider reading this if you are interested in taking your pet to Tier One…read more On October 18th, 2023, I brought my dog into Tier 1 due to her being severely injured by another dog. Tier 1 was the closest veterinarian to where my dog was attacked, so I rushed her there. I want to begin by saying my experience with the receptionists at the front desk were great. They moved with urgency to ensure my dog got taken into the back and stabilized quickly. The interactions I had with the veterinary assistant was also positive. The veterinary assistant was compassionate, thorough, and patient with me throughout the visit. On the flip-side, the veterinarian falsely diagnosed my dog with a bilateral jaw fracture. They said her jaw bones were only hanging by her skin. They said I had the option to follow through with a risky surgery, but encouraged euthanasia due to her age and their lack of confidence in the outcome. Even though she was otherwise a healthy dog. After being informed that the humane thing to do was to put her down, I was in a fragile state and getting ready to say goodbye. Thankfully, I have family that work with reputable and experienced veterinarians. After a phone call with my family, to tell them the news, I found out the veterinarian was not Board Certified. (She never was transparent about this.) A family member urged me to bring my dog to Pet Emergency Treatment. I followed my gut, had my dog transported into Anchorage, and I brought her to Pet Emergency Treatment. I do want to emphasize my gratitude to Tier 1 for stabilizing her for the transportation. At Pet Emergency Treatment in Anchorage my dog was evaluated by a Board Certified veterinarian and several specialists. My dog did not ever have a bilateral jaw fracture in the first place. She had Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction and her brain had moderate swelling that went down after being given medication. Tier 1 charged me with an unnecessary amount of money, lacked transparency, and misdiagnosed my dog with a much more severe condition. I was preparing myself to have to put her down- all over a false diagnosis. I understand mistakes happen, I am not condemning any individual (hence why I have left the veterinarian's name out), however, this mistake would have otherwise cost my dog her life. I highly recommend Pet Emergency Treatment in Anchorage. They saved my dog's life and without them she would not still be here today. My dog is now 12 years old. Her quality of life is excellent, she plays with me and goes on walks every day. I hope something positive can be taken from this review and that this does not happen to anyone's pet in the future.

This morning I arrive at 9am as per the website says they open. No one is around. I see no sign for an office. It's a house. I knock on the door and a woman answers the door in her robe. I say why I am here and she says let me see if he is available. He comes out a few minutes later to ask what I need. I say I would like to see about reserving a kennel but would like to see everything as well. He walks me around to the back where there is a shackish looking building. Takes me inside to show me the kennel. They are dark....zero light when you walk through. We go through another door and there are very dim lit kennels. The smell is horrible and very dirty. I tell the owner about my dog. Now I have a lab retriever 1 1/2 years old. He is extremely lovable. My son is 11 and he plays rough with him and has Never bit anyone. He just barks a lot at people who are new. Well unfortunately when I took him to the vet prior to visiting the kennel, he snapped at the vet. I explained this to the LNR owner, that he is a sweet dog, he is just loud and scared when he sees new people. Once he knows they are safe everything is just cuddles. Anyway, he says "well I don't want to get bit." I say completely understandable. So then he says "lets see how he is" so I walk out to the car and get him. He is on his leash and barking for all of 3 seconds and the guy immediately says "Im not doing this" in an angry voice and proceeds to walk away. In my opinion this was beyond unprofessional. I understand how he could feel but that is no way to handle a situation if you are supposedly running a business as a breeder and a kennel. If you are ok with your dog staying in a dark hole, and being half assed taken care of by guy who clearly doesn't care about his business or reputation, then this is the place.

AK TLC Kennels is behind Builders Bargains on the Parks Hwy near Trunk Rd…read more We have 2 dogs (both husky rott mixes) that LOVE going to the kennel here. (Our previous 2 dogs loved going here too as they have a "geriatric" room that is quieter and sectioned off from the main part of the kennel so it's a bit quieter for the older dogs). The runs are good sized, we keep our 2 dogs together in 1 run, as many people do. They get beds that are raised up off the floor, and blankets. I think they will also give them toys to have in the run, but we have 1 that will ingest stuff like that so we skip that part. Debbie and her staff are great with the dogs and are always happy to see them when they arrive. They offer grooming and also have a separate room for boarding cats. One of my dogs has a thing about having his toes touched, so we rarely get to trim his nails at home. We've tried at the vets office too, but someone is usually holding him down and there is a lot of flailing and almost no nail trimming. I asked TLC to trim his nails several trips ago and they said he LOVES it when they do it and has no issues, so now that is part of his trip to the kennel as well. Dogs are taken out to several fenced play yards a few times a day. Mine always come home exhausted. I love TLC Kennel and wouldn't take my dogs (my children) anywhere else.

Recently, my ridgeback, Ozzie was at TLC while I was in Europe, and they rushed him to emergency vets, due to unforeseen emergency related to his stomach constricting, resulting in a life or death situation. It was recognized immediately, and he was immediately taken vet. His life threatening condition ended well thank you to TLC!! They kept Ozzie in cuddle room after his surgery the rest of his stay, and was totally pampered. TLC are passionate about caring for your pet for their individual needs, and very knowledgeable related to safety. Highly recommend TLC!! You know your in a great Kennel when you arrive, and your pets are eager to be there, instead of, oh no Mom, your leaving me, as your are trying to coach them inside. My 2 dogs love being there. That makes it so much more reassuring leaving them behind.
