1/10 Experience - Will Not Be Returning For context I've…read morebeen coming here to get my dog groomed for the past two years. When I arrived I was informed the business is under new ownership... I brought my dog in for an 8:30am grooming appointment, but it wasn't until 8:55 when the manager finally arrived and opened the shop. She apologized, but quickly followed it with excuses. I remained polite, but when I asked a few basic questions about the services, she responded with unnecessary rudeness. She had told me I'd receive a call 20 minutes before my dog was finished so I could plan my pickup accordingly. Instead, she called after he was already done. When I mentioned I was 20 minutes away, she became short and dismissive over the phone. When I arrived, she didn't greet me, she just punched the total into the card reader. I asked how my dog did during the groom, and again, her tone was rude and unwelcoming, though she briefly said he did fine. Before the appointment, I had clearly explained how I wanted my dog groomed, including trimming his tail and face like we always do. Neither was done properly, his tail looked untouched, and his face was barely trimmed. On top of that, his ears were still wet, suggesting they didn't fully dry him. His legs were patchy and unevenly groomed as well as around his groin area was untouched. He looked bad. To make matters worse, she was texting on her phone as I was checking out. This experience was unprofessional from start to finish. I won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this place to others.

North Star Animal Hospital

I have been coming to North Star since they were just a small clinic with two rooms... this is the…read morefirst review I have ever written as well because I think it's important to know that just like football seasons.. you may have a good season or bad season w/your team.... North Sar, as of December 2025 has NOT been having a good season. I have had to go in once a month since then & each time i keep asking myself why i go back--maybe it's because I've been going there for so long i want to keep believing a good change will eventually happen. You are rushed through your apt w/holes of information missing & on top of that mis information is absolutely rampant. I have had to call other vet clinics to obtain accurate information (mat-su animal urgent care off of Trunk is incredible BTW it's a shame they only do emergencies) regarding medications & dietary needs. North Star rushes so quickly to get you in and out, forgetting to record details such as doses or weight (these are two that have happened with me multiple times within the last few months). There is no direction given for scheduling follow up apts for regular injections & you are just kinda left in the dark, until you find yourself calling them to ask because you don't know what to do or where to go from there-- because you aren't being directed. Two times now within 4 months I have had a tech apt when I stay on the lobby & they take her in the back without me; both times were so quick it was hard for me to believe what they actually did back there; only to find out they completely slacked on what they said they did: a nail clipping, which I had to go back again for because it clearly wasn't done, and an allergy injection that didn't work because she wasn't given the proper dose because the weight wasn't recorded the last time and they went with a lower dose & it turned into this huge mess where techs forgot the mg of the shot and tried to go back and write it by memory off of weight which clearly wasn't the right one-- basically just trying to fill the holes in her file with more mis information to cover it up which ultimately led to me needing to come back because the results weren't what they were the previous month--when the shot actually worked. --on an off note to this... while this was happening I was talking to another patient in the waiting room, and she was literally in with her Saint Bernard because of the same exact reason!! I am going into such detail, because people need to know that North Stat used to be amazing, they just aren't going through a good season right now. they overbook, they don't train they just throw new employees in the deep end and it's sink or swim (which leads to more mis information). Worst of all... they just don't seem to care. My dog has severe allergies & I got a hair analysis done--giving me EVERYTHING I needed to know... every time I go in there they deny even wanting to see it; they sold me two products that ended up burning her because they didn't want to take the time to read through--then they tell me they'll need to do more tests to figure out what she's allergic to even though I HAVE the info and have asked them over and over if they want me to send it to them and it's met with a wishy washy answer or they don't know where or who I could send it to. I feel sick about it all.... I am not a negative person... I have ZERO social media so it's not like I get off on doing stuff like this... I am just an honest to goodness person who loves my dog & I feel like a complete idiot for continuing to go back because I KEEP HOPING it'll change and it's not it's only getting worse... it's almost comparable to an abusive relationship.... you've invested all your blood sweat tears (and money in this case) and you just keep hoping at some point the shift will happen and it doesn't. RIGHT NOW....I would say stay away from this place, which breaks my heart to say. it's fallen so far. None of this is personal either, there are the facts of the situation--but it becomes personal to a certain point when your furry family members aren't being cared for they way they should. I have tried to genuinely talk to them about this at the beginning of each and every apt as well--asking what's going on, that they just aren't the same place anymore and proceeding to tell my experiences... all I got was an apology. but zero change within the last 5 months now. Just stay away from this place--for this season at least; maybe next season will be better

Palmer Veterinary Clinic - Dog

Palmer Veterinary Clinic

Consistently the most affordable, and it's easy to make appointments on their app. TW: pet loss…read more I am so insanely grateful to their very caring staff. We made the very painful decision to euthanize Pond, my son's dog, due to extremely aggressive bone cancer. After Pond's euthanasia, he had a panic attack and couldn't stop crying over his choice to not get Pond's ashes back. He had initially said that he'd prefer her ashes to be spread in the flower beds at the Palmer Fair Grounds, which would mean a communal cremation. But he panicked when he realized he'd have nothing left of HER, only photos and paw prints, and wanted the opportunity to do something with her ashes himself and in his own time. After talking to him, I immediately called PVC to see if it was too late to make changes. They switched her to a private cremation, made extra paw prints, a nose print, and clippings of her hair for him. They had everything (but her ashes, which we picked up later) ready for pick-up almost immediately so he'd have something to comfort him. Throughout the whole process, they explained every step, gave us space to grieve and didn't rush us. In fact, they told us the room was ours for as long as we needed it, both before she passed and after. It took about two hours and an extra dose of the sedative for her to settle down and fall asleep (she was enjoying being pain-free again and eating whipped cream and treats) before the final medication could be administered, and every minute of witnessing what goes on between a boy and his dog was precious. We needed every bit of it.
