Bunch of incompetent officers. Part of the reason why the police have such a bad reputation. Can't solve any violence around them.

Taking reports is the bare minimum, and this department can't even do that consistently. It's clear the problem isn't the public--it's how the department is run. Stop being overly selective in hiring and start getting people in the door who can at least handle reports and basic calls. Not every situation requires a sworn deputy. Hire civilian staff, train them, and let deputies focus on actual crime. Right now, it feels like resources are mismanaged and the community is left without support when it's needed most. If you can't respond to basic calls or take reports, then what exactly is the service being provided?

I called at 11:30 PM to check if they were coming and it seemed like they had never heard about my original call whatsoever. I called every hour after that just to hear that all officers were busy attending life-threatening incidents. I stayed up until 4:30AM just to find out they never intended to come out. This is why voting (in fact, today is election day for Lancaster) is so important. Vote for people who prioritize citizen safety. How are citizens suppose to communicate their disatisfaction with the current Department and advocate for more police presence in a city riddled with crime and theft? Clearly there is not enough police to keep this City safe and nothing has been done to make a real difference.

I then call Glendora police Department, they route my call to the "jail" section. It rings for 5 minutes, no one picks up. I call back, let the officer know what's going on, he tries to connect me again, and also says they don't ask for credit card information via phone, wtf? I call back and say, "Can you at least transfer a message that i am trying to get a hold of someone?" They say, "No, we are not allowed to do that." I say, "how else can i get a hold of them? Can i just come down and see them?" They say, "Yes." I drive down there, then they tell me i can't see them, that the "jailor" is on the way to the courthouse, and it will be another hour and a half. At this point, i am wondering what part of The Matrix i am in. Literally, a whole bunch of officers, but absolutely no what to communicate. I am not sure if this is an idsue with every police department or just this one. I feel terrified that we have these people running things and "serving or protecting" anything. I am truly baffled and feel bad this is where all the tax dollars go. On top of all this, i say that the inmate needs medication, which i have. Shouldn't you at least check on that? Maybe they need it. Their response was, "we check every hour on them." Good lord. God forbid someone dies in their custody needing medication, which could be easily provided by someone who knows them more than they know their job. God save us all...awful.

I have personally witnessed and heard from many in my community that the Rancho Cucamonga Police…read moreDepartment has recently come under scrutiny for indiscriminate vehicle stops, often targeting regular citizens. Too many times, I've seen or been told that people are accused of driving under the influence (DUI) immediately during a stop--regardless of actual impairment--creating a climate of fear and mistrust in our neighborhoods and even at local restaurants where these stories echo among residents. DUI Stops and Discriminatory Tactics When anyone gets pulled over, it now feels like the default assumption by officers is that we are under the influence, and we're pushed through DUI protocols whether there's evidence or not. I've also heard concerning reports that officers sometimes turn off body cameras during key moments, preventing any real transparency or accountability when things go wrong. Supervisor Request Policy and Legal Rights I know from research and talking to others that, while California law doesn't force officers to bring a supervisor to every traffic stop, best practices--and basic respect--say that the option should be available, especially if there's a legitimate complaint. However, in Rancho Cucamonga, officers frequently flat-out deny requests to see a supervisor, which not only goes against common sense but is misleading and wrong. Even if they say no on scene, anyone can file a formal complaint, whether in person at the sheriff's station or through Internal Affairs, and that's what I encourage everyone to do. Filing Complaints and Brady-Giglio/"Do Not Call" Lists If you've felt harassed, denied your right to speak to a supervisor, or wrongfully accused, document everything and file an official complaint with the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. I've learned that you can also request that the District Attorney review the officer for placement on the Brady-Giglio or "do-not-call" list--a tool designed to flag officers with credibility problems due to their misconduct. The process means sending a written report to the DA, and if enough evidence stacks up, it can lead to real consequences for the officer involved. Community Action and Next Steps Here's what I recommend if you or anyone you know gets caught in one of these situations: - Write down everything--names, badge numbers, times, and how officers behaved. - File a formal complaint with Internal Affairs at the sheriff's department. - Send a request to the District Attorney for a Brady/Giglio review of the officer involved. - Make noise--share what happened in community forums, advocacy groups, and on social media or with local news, so our community knows what's going on and oversight increases. - statenationalsrock.com Taking these steps matters more than ever for enforcing transparency, protecting our rights, and making sure law enforcement in Rancho Cucamonga operates fairly and with real accountability.

What went not well was their demeanor, lack of professionalism, and lack of communication skills. We are all in the middle of the street and I was told to get out the street because if I get hit by a drunk driver right now they will not be held responsible. Excuse me? It was a surprising remark because their vehicles surrounded my car and there were multiple officers standing around in the middle of the street chatting nonchalantly like it's just another day. Your other officer just told me to hurry and go get my belongings that were in the middle of the street because they are towing your car right now and that I will need to get off the street now. Me questioning him saying "who is the tow company that is here trying to tow my car without speaking to me at all. I did not order them. I need to contact my own tow first" police offer gives me a snarky look and says 'are you listening to me?" Um yes I AM and I'm saying who is towing my car?!explain to me what's going on. Because what I'm seeing is that this tow guy that's been waiting around anticipating this accident rolls by, hooks his tow to my car and proceeds the lift. Anyone want to inform me what is happening? I didn't order this tow, and there were still things that needed to be collected by me like I need to get license plates. I need to grab my belongings from my car! Never have I ever experienced such rude officers. In previous experiences, officers have been so kind and asked me several times if I got license plates, did you exchange insurance info already?" What is with all the aggressive ordering around and gaslighting. They don't like when you ask questions it seems and if you in the slightest question them they take it as a form of resistance which they do not like. I am allowed to know what is going on because I'm a person that's involved. I'm allowed to ask questions too. What's with all the attitude and ego with these officers?! I say I need to go take photos of the accident. Cop replies: I got them already. I tell him 'no I need my own photos so I can send them to my insurance. (I never got these photos from them by the way) ' he looks at me snarky and offended and told me 'be quick because they're towing it right now' Short Officer with brown mustache also needs an attitude check as he was barking orders left and right, "I need your license.", gives it back to me with one finger and has a face like he doesn't want to give my license back to me but has to. I'm not saying the whole department is this way but the officers at the scene were aggressive at the beginning, barked orders around, and I can sense just from their presence/ attitudes that these officers are the types to escalate things and blow things way out of proportion unnecessarily, unethically, and aggressively. These are power tripping officers that act tough and protect their own. I felt super uneasy with these officers which shouldn't be the case at all.
