RUN FOR YOUR LIFE! I hate to pile on, but the negative reviews are well deserved! We had a Palm Harbor in the 90's and loved it. Tight, economical and served us well. Only natural that we would go back for another. It's hard to believe how hard this company fell. Just like other excellent brand names that turned in to junk, Palm Harbor's current offering has no relationship whatsoever to the original. First of all, it is no longer a Palm Harbor. It's a Fleetwood. Not the "trailer park" Fleetwood of yesteryear; that was a Rolls Royce compared to today. Paper-thin sheetrock, fixtures that would not be good enough for a child's playhouse, quality 'control' that is laughable. Ours was delivered absolutely filthy inside and out. Corners and soffits crushed from someone who did not know how to tow a mobile home. Cracks in the ceiling, cabinet drawers whose facing comes off in your hand. Plumbing fixtures that acted like they were made of wax. A leak ruined the Master Bath. I thought "the make-ready crew is going to work overtime on this one!" I was wrong. There is no make-ready crew. There is actually....nothing. Weeks go by. Phones go unanswered. Don't give up - keep dialing. Some of the employees seemed to want to care, but it is obvious: They are totally overwhelmed with the shoddy quality of their product. All of the other poor customers are standing in line with similar problems as well. It will be MONTHS before you can talk someone into coming out and looking at your problem. When you sign the mountain of paperwork to close the deal, one of the sheets forces you to agree to arbitration with your inevitable complaints. You can't sue us - you can only take your complaint to our friendly arbiter. Gotcha! I have always prided myself on making good purchase decisions. I have bought many fine cars, good houses and even a quality Palm Harbor manufactured home, built in the early 90's. I rate this monstrosity as the worst purchase of my entire life. My family purchased 2 homes from this location. The 2nd home has had major issues regarding poor quality workmanship throughout the home. Palm Harbor is working with me to "correct" these issues after leaving them negative reviews. DO NOT BUY A HOME HERE, OR BUILT IN FT WORTH TX, PERIOD. I do not recommend the general contractor, Tabb Home Improvement for anything. My family and another relatives family bought palm harbor homes at the exact same time but different locations. We bought from the Austin branch, relatives bought from the Round Rock branch. Both of those branches, as well as most palm harbor branches in this area use Tabb Home Improvement, Mike Tabb. It was a nightmare from the get go. Tabb is a contractor, who sub contracts and then sometimes those sub contractors will sub-sub contact. Starting in the beginning when we finally did make contact with them and asked them to advise us anytime anyone would be on our property in reference to the palm harbor. Well, we never were advised, updated or anything else. As a matter of a fact, if you can make contact with them congrats because you've done the impossible. Usually the only way we could get info from or to tabb home improvement was via our palm harbor agent. There was one tabb secretary, who works remotely from another state that is rude and doesn't know her job. I've even been cursed at or to by Mike over several things. (recorded) We were to originally move into our new home no later than May 31, 2022.... We were official moved in around February of 2023. Once the house was here and set up there were of course issues that needed to be fixed with the house from the road trip. It is now August of 2023 and I am still waiting on 2 bathroom cabinets that are being replaced because the other 2 came apart..... Literally... It's not wood, it's some kind of cheap pressed board with a white overlay. All the cabinets are like that. Disappointing. For what we paid for all of this we could have bought a new built real house with all the extras. Be advised that in pain harbor you're going to be shuffled around to different people depending on what stage of the purchase you are at. Another issue we had along with our relatives are leaks, huge leaks that went unattended for weeks which invites mold and everything else.... when they did show up all they did was spray bleach on the ceiling and called it good on the inside. There are still yellow streaks now in my ceiling. There are stories like this over and over again and I have to wonder who is padding who's pockets. Tabbs, Palm Harbor or both? We and our relatives have asked, emailed, called and text repeatedly for invoices on Tabb jobs.... Neither of us have gotten anything. Not even a response that they are working on it. I know for a fact on our bid by Tabb, there were things we didn't need or were grossly overpriced. Either way, we've not ever seen an itemized biking statement. Both families would be willing to talk to anyone that wants an honest review on palm harbor and tabb home improvement. It's heartbreaking to be so excited about your purchase of a new home only to be walked on and cheated and if you ask ANYTHING expect the general manager to call with a recording thru do at the signing time. I just posted a picture where you can see the wall and trim piece are swollen and damp in this photo. You can also see the black mold starting to grow on the trim piece. We purchased a Palm Harbour home 2 years ago, the quality is not as great as they say. The factory warranty people are terrible no one is ever available to take your call. They don't cover everything they tell you they cover and they don't share the details at the time of purchase. We can not wait to see our house. The store at Ben white is also terrible about calling your back. We had a major electrical issues and they could care less because it's not there house and they just want to make money. They truly don't care about there customers and there happiness with the home. We will never again purchase a palm harbor. read more

I find it to be an amazing coincidence that TWO glowing reviews were posted on the same day, January 29, defending Donna, the sales manager at Palm Harbor homes as well as praising Palm Harbor. Something really smells here ... and I suspect that these two reviews may be BOGUS as the grammar and writing styles are too close for words and both sound like a "sales pitch". Is there really a Rob M and Julio O? Or were these reviews "ghost written" by the Palm Harbor sales manager as they appear to be attempting to do some much needed damage control due to the hard hitting 11/4/2014 review by one of their irate customers? I am a regional marketing manager and I concur with the negative review given as I also was treated unprofessionally by Donna when I visited Palm Harbor. Still wanting to see their manufacturing process, I walked away totally unimpressed with the quality of their product. They just don't offer or build in the quality that I was expecting for a second home in the Austin area. There were just too many cheap finish items and low end options for me to purchase one of their shop built modular homes. If you are looking for a modular or mobile home, make sure that you do your homework and know what you are buying and getting before making a long term commitment. read more

I bought a modular home and when I moved in t half of the molding in the master bedroom was put up. The front door was dented on the inside and thought out the house the trim work is barely nailed in. Sometimes the lights work and sometimes they don't. There was a hole in the wall in the master bedroom and the patch work is awful. The back screen and glass door won't open and in the laundry room the engineering of the lay out has the washer and dryer facing each other and in the media room there was no receptacle covers on the receptacles. The breakers keep flipping when you turn the lights on in the guest rooms. I would no recommend anyone to go with Palm Harbor . read more

I went to all the manufactured home companies on Ben White Blvd and they're all trying to sell you more than you want to buy. A mobile home or manufactured home is not as well-built as a site-built home but the quality has gone up over the years. Palm Harbor had a hard-sale technique and didn't seem interested in helping me buy a lower priced home. I didn't trust Palm Harbor at all . Titan seemed more geared to people of lower income and were more honest in putting a package deal together. Know what you want to spend and stick to your budget. If they keep tacking things on then go somewhere else. That seems the strategy of all these places. Just make sure you get a good energy efficient package and siding with a good warranty. Don't add a lot of frilly options that you could add later yourself. Tell them how much you can spend and STICK WITH IT. read more
