The front desk team is friendly and efficient. Michelle, the dental hygienist, was gentle and pleasant. She explained everything clearly and made my teeth cleaning a fast and easy experience. Highly recommend Dr Baumann and his staff! read more

Great, caring staff! Appointments are easy to make and I was seen on time. They take the time to ensure you are relaxed and comfortable. I highly recommend them! read more

Clean office, nice friendly staff. My hygienist was nice but before any cleaning started there was a list of a la cart items to be discussed. They are a cash office (but will bill your insurance and have any refund sent to you the patient). I think their prices are fair and they have a lot of technology but a 360 degree x ray was $275 and a special laser treatment (I've never heard of before) $50 few other items and then the big one for Perio Protect $675 for trays to wear in shower? Made me a bit nervous and mistrusting, especially when I heard the patient in the next bay being given the press by the actual Dentist. All that said it was a thorough cleaning, the hygienist was excellent in explaining what she was doing and meeting Dr Baumann I found him pleasant. read more

I have been going to Dr. Baumann for several years. I have teeth cleaned every three months. Dr. Baumann installed a new crown this Summer. I arrived on time for my 1:00 appointment from Mountain Center a 30-minute drive down the 74. With no cell service. When I walked in I was told it would be a few minutes. After sitting there for 20 minutes I got up to ask how much longer and was told it would be at least another 20 minutes. The office had sent me a text 15 minutes before my appointment telling me the patient before me was late and suddenly that was my problem. I was on time and could not be seen. This is highly inconsiderate as I believe the patient who showed up late should have been asked to wait not me I was on time. Dr Nick I would strongly advise you to train your staff to have more consideration. This was a waste of my time and very unprofessional. I walked out without any consideration for my time or effort to be on time. Dr Nick I like you but really this was inexcusable! Please address this with your staff. read more

This is a fabulous office. I changed from my Beverly Hills dentist to this office as we split out time. They have state of the art equipment and everyone from the hygienist to both Dr. Nick and Dr. Sarah are amazing. My daughter had the best experience even though she was afraid to go to the dentist. Great cleaning today! Highly recommend! read more

Everything went well from the wonderful Lupe at the front desk, who is magical to be exceptional Cleaning by the hygienist Lorena to my examination by the confident and kind Dr. Sara every part of this experience exceeded my expectations. I would rather have a baby than go to the dentist and this will be my dental practice going forward. read more

I HATE going to the dentist. I have always felt like they try to sell you on treatments you don't need, and are just trying to raise your bill. I have tried 4 different dentists in 3 years until finding Dr. Baumann. He is AMAZING!! Not only is he thorough, but his pricing is fair, he has never told me I have 10 cavities I don't have, and his equipment is the most up to date technology that makes my appointment SO much more tolerable. I love the hygienist Lorena and the whole team is just amazing. I cannot recommend them enough! read more

Dr Bauman is an excellent dentist. He does perfect work in a safe environment. I would highly recommend him for all your dental needs

Had to get a crown cemented back in today (don't eat Carmel candy!) so happy I found this place! stars! Dr Nick & his entire team are kind & knowledgeable. Jessica is amazing! She's a wealth of information & truly cares about the patient. read more

I had teeth whitening only a month ago, and my teeth were worse afterwards! They were left with a rough surface which made them browner as the days went on. I was told that they would get whiter using the bleaching trays I purchased, and that my teeth were old and could not be whitened to much. I went to another dentist to repair damage to my teeth. I had a thorough cleaning and they look great now! read more

Still the best. Been going for years and it isn't close, but don't trust anyone else.

I would recommend trying some other dentist first. ANY other dentist first. No respect for your time. Don't really tell you what's going on you can just figure it out or not. They knew I was coming from Yucca Valley and yet treated me like I lived around the corner, bringing me in more times because of their errors. Something that I was told would take 5 weeks was at 8 weeks with no end in sight. Couldn't even give me an appt for the permanent bridge to be installed because they couldn't guarantee when it would be ready. Funny because the local dentist (in Yucca Valley) I went to , to finish the botched job was able to clean up the mess that was in my mouth and have the bridge there and ready exactly when they said it would be. It isn't until You go to a dentist that DOES respect your time. A dentist That DOESN'T bring you back countless times because of their errors that you realize you just wasted 8 weeks traveling over 400 miles accommodating them. They offer no excuses and no apologies. Their attitude is DEAL WITH IT. I could go into great detail about the wasted 8 weeks and the procedures that were actually damaging. Suffice it to Say I would not offer myself up for that kind of abuse again. And it was not cheap. There Are hundreds of dentists in Palm Desert. I would recommend trying ANY of them first. (Oh and my insurance couldn't reimburse me because of the incomplete information this office provided) Contact me directly for specifically what was done and not done. read more

Very professional and friendly staff. Can't say enough about how great the experience was.

Michelle was a great hygenist and the entire staff presented the utmost in professionalism.

First visit took place after I completed a few pages of medical information that they requested online. Dr. Baumann must not have reviewed this information because he began explaining the advantages of Cone Beam CT Scans before any x-rays were taken or viewed, all within the first few minutes. I have a serious medical condition that I noted in the medical information and prefer minimum x-rays due to this. The Cone Beam CT Scans put out more radiation than a digital x-ray. I was looking for a dentist, my mistake, and not someone who specializes in Cosmetic Dentistry. I think he was trying to sell me on advanced imaging more than taking care of my dental needs. He wasn't the right dentist for me and we decided not to complete the exam. read more

I would highly recommend Dr Nick Baumann. I live in the desert six months out of the year and in the last six months I have had a few different dental issues that have come up so I looked online and after reading reviews decided to try Palm Desert Smiles. Dr. Bauman replaced one of my porcelain veneers that had broken off one of my two front teeth. He went above and beyond to make sure that the new veneer matched my other 25 year old veneer. He was willing to order several different colors until we got the best possible match. I really appreciated his patience and willingness to work to get it right. I also had questions about an osteoporosis drug that I've been given which can cause some side effects involving your jaw and teeth. I was impressed that he had a lot of experience working with patients who had had that drug and he was knowledgeable about the issue, which was reassuring. The office staff are all really nice read more

I don't love going to the dentist but I look forward to my care with Dr. Baumann's office because they are nice, caring, thorough and listen to my concerns. Dr. Baumann is meticulous and present. Michelle is a great hygienist and very careful. read more

As a few other reviews mention, ASK FOR PRICES IN ADVANCE. If anyone thinks they should go to Dr Baumann, thank twice.  My husband and I went in for routine teeth cleaning and left with a $1,000 bill. No one ever told us what the charges were going to be, some rather excessive. Neither my 76 year old husband nor my 65 year old self have had any dental issues, which we explained. Our teeth are in good shape which every dental hygienist has told me. Let me break the charges down. My Husband: - $160 Teeth Cleaning - $35 Comprehensive periodontal evaluation where they read numbers of each tooth (I have never had a dentist charge this, it was always included in the cleaning) - $100 Comprehensive oral evaluation by the dentist (Again, in all my years this too was included in the cleaning) - $50 Digital photos, not X-rays Myself: - $160 Teeth Cleaning - $50 Laser to disinfect all areas around the teeth (I have never had another dentist offer this) - $275 Cone Beam Scan - $35 Comprehensive oral evaluation - $75 Comprehensive oral evaluation by dentist So if you still feel you want to go to this dental practice, make sure you have them reveal all the charges in advance so you don't end up surprised like us. In the past dentists have always outlined charges in advance if insurance wouldn't be covering it. A little more integrity on their part could go a long way. read more

You can never go wrong having the dentists and staff take care of you. I recently had extensive work done and I was completely pleased. That was several months ago and then today, I took a fall in the parking lot of my bank and badly chipped 4 of my upper front teeth. I called their office and was told to come over right away where Dr. Nick saw me immediately. Of course he had a fix for my scraggle tooth smile and next Monday I will have my perfect smile back again. Dr. Nick to the rescue!! read more

I've recently undergone major upper and lower dental repair and reconstruction with Dr. Baumann. I wish to applaud and commend the entire staff and the specialists who treated me with such sincere warmth and consideration, particularly during the stress of this current period of pandemic restrictions. Personally, I've just lived with and suffered through the dysfunction, pain, and unsightly nature of my dental condition for many years now. Dr. Bauman was tasked with a dental disaster inside my mouth. To further complicate my situation, I suffer from extreme personal sensitivity and downright fear of dentists and doctors; (it's called "white coat phobia"). His challenge was overwhelming and yet, executed SPLENDIDLY along with his staff Gentle, caring, concerned, efficient, comfortable, reasonable and even affordable based on his consideration of our income. Whether your dental concern is trivial or overwhelming, these professionals are at least worth a call. I offer you my sincere endorsement of their talent, courtesy, and efficiency read more

About a year ago I started to go through the process of having all of my remaining bottom teeth removed, due to gum disease. I had already had my upper teeth removed and fitted with a denture. When I first consulted with Dr. Nick Baumann and the entire staff at Palm Desert smiles, I was pleasantly surprised by their ability to make me feel comfortable, and in explaining the entire process to me. Over the years I have developed a great fear of dentists, and Dr. Nick helped alleviate that fear. When the process was finally completed after a period of about six months from start to finish, I was fitted with a bottom plate that feels natural in my mouth! It took just a couple of adjustments after the plate was initially fitted, and I now feel confident out in public once again! For anyone needing work pertaining to dentures, I highly, highly recommend Dr. Nick Baumann and the entire staff at Palm Desert Smiles. Each and every one of them went out of their way to make sure I always felt comfortable. Even the times that I brought my wife with me, she was treated with care and respect while waiting. For any future dental work, should I ever need any, I won't even hesitate to go back to Dr. Nick Baumann and Palm Desert Smiles! read more

Dr. Nick Baumann and the Palm Desert Smiles team are the first to give me hope and relief during my long battle with TMJD. While other dentists and TMJ specialists have tried presenting me with a one-size-fits-all approach, Dr. Baumann is trained and continues training in Gneuromuscular dentistry, and has consulted with its founder and teacher Dr. Clayton Chan personally on my case. I was fearful of choosing the right approach for treating my TMJs for years prior to my consultation here. I've been meaning to write a review since day one when I started my 24/7 splint therapy in April, but when I called today due to some pain creeping up, I was again reminded that I am in the most caring and capable hands. They added me on their schedule within 48 hours as always. If you have migraines (a gross understatement in my case) due to your TMJs, don't go anywhere else. This is where you'll find real relief, not just another temporary bandaid. They do it the right way here and I couldn't be more thankful. read more

I had Michelle as my hygienist and she is excellent. Very gentle and informative to my questions. Dr. Nick Baumann also saw me and did a painfree treatment to my back teeth which hopefully will solve my pain. Both Michelle and Dr. Nick are excellent. My payment check-out with Jessica was also very pleasant and easy. A big thanks to this great team of dental professionals! read more
