I signed up at end of July and told them I only want a month , as I was having surgery end of August. Since they asked for my debit card I repeatedly asked this is only one month correct and she kept saying yes. Well I looked at my account today and they took out again. I called location and they said I had to cancel by 25th , not once did she say I had to do this . Again I repeated myself I only want one month and she kept saying no problem. They are nothing but liars. If there's cameras you can zoom in and read my lips. Sales is one thing but liars is another. Learn the difference! Stopped into this strongsville location today to start my free trial per the website and sign my wife up for a membership as we are new to the area. I was greeted by a girl and was told she was unable to assist. She then got her manager Mike who was incredibly rude! I am a GM for a large retailer in the area and would never be as incredibly unhelpful as he was. I'm sure it was do in part because they closed soon. Regardless of the situation you don't turn people away or be blatantly disrespectful. I had the text message directly from the palm beach tan website stating i qualified for the one week free trial, he told me they couldn't honor that, i needed to go home and print it off. Palm beach tan is one of the worst companies to ever exist. I was referred by my sister to go here for spray tans as she always had a good experience and liked the way her sprays turned out. I signed up at the Strongsville location where I later find out, they are the ones who completely screwed me over. I went late one night before my senior pictures and signed up for the mystic booth monthly. I got a charter rate of 39.95 and was happy with that. Well what they fail to tell you is that pretty much you are paying monthly fee but still have to pay every time for your "customized bronzers." Which was the whole reason I signed up to for this tan booth & paid more monthly because they said "it is better because it is customized to you." Since i'm under 18 years old, I needed a parent signature to sign up. My mom came in and signed literally 12 times on an digital system (so we didn't really know what we were signing for.) Unfortunately they failed to know which documents were important for ME to sign and which ones my MOM had to sign. I signed a document that needed someone over 18. Which again, I don't work there and I didn't know what I was signing. Long story short, I had a friend come with me for a few sprays at the Strongsville location. She was screwed over as well. They lied to her about signing up for monthly because secrets out they get commission from everything they sell!! I was sick of the way I was treated when they didn't listen to what I wanted, and scammed my friend. They were mad I asked questions and did not want all the extras that really aren't NECESSARY for the spray. It was the night before my homecoming and after not getting what I wanted and repeatedly getting eyes rolled at, I spoke up to defend myself. I ended up calling a district manager after this because of how my friend and I were treated. I was told that "he will watch the cameras." In my experience with customer service the saying is "the customer is always right" not "i will see what really happened on the cameras." I was expecting to get some kind of something for my bad experience, but I got nothing. Move on a month-ish later. I needed another spray tan for vacation. I took my mom because I knew something was wrong with my account. I went to the Broadview heights location where the girl who helped was very nice. She called the DM and he said my account had been cancelled because I did not have a parent signature. (Which my mom signed.) He advised the girl to resign me up and that he will get my rate back since they weren't running the deal anymore, and because the cancellation was not my fault. The only good thing they did was wave my start up fee since I already paid that and I never said to cancel my account. But even that the girl who helped me had to beg the DM to allow that. Well as you can guess he didn't change my rate. I was charged $59.95 instead of $39.95. I went last night to figure this out, and was told that he can't change my rate, I can't get a refund, and that if I pay 59$/month until SEPTEMBER OF 2022, they will give me the 39$ rate back! I really wanted this membership for a few events I had, and to eventually go tanning in a bed there for prom. I got absolutely nothing expect a sorry. At this point by how much not only I, but my friend was also screwed I would think they would give a complimentary something. Or even a free month!! Or after all this a free year!!! Nope. Nothing. Unfortunately, their terrible customer service screwed them over and lost a customer, and here I am posting this so others can be aware of this, possibly causing them a loss of many more customers. read more

Went this morning before I left for an out of town trip tonight. Pretty sure there was nothing spraying out onto me...total waste of $40! So disappointing as I wanted the color for my trip. She offered for me to come back in tonight but not much help when I am at the airport. Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. I have been a Palm Beach Tan customer for over 3 years . I have been through 4 managers and up until today I have always been treated very well. When I started up my package again on 1/2/2019, I was told that my card was rejecting the monthly hold fee. I told the NEW manager that my card was lost and it will be up to 2 weeks before I get my new one I can use a different card for now. He stated that's okay, you have until 1/25/2019 to register your updated card and we will use today's card as a one time process. At no time did he tell me that I owe more than $50.14 to be charged on my card. I walk in today to Palm Beach Tan and the manager told me my card rejected my January $18.85 charge to catch me up. I told him I just paid you over $50 how do I owe you more. He stated if you would let me finish explaining you will understand. So I let him finish and stated that you never told me I owed you more. I told you my card is being replaced and would not come in for up to 2 weeks. You told me that it would be fine and that I had until 1/25/2019 to bring in the updated card. He said that he would waive $10, but I still owe $8.85 the next time I come in I will have to pay $8.85 before I tan. Why would you tell you customer that your total is $50.14, when in reality I should have been told my total will be $68.99??? I went and tanned and stewed on this the entire time I was tanning. The more I thought about it the more I was ticked off. After I completed my tan, I went back to the counter and told him to cancel my package. If you decide to use the Strongsville Palm Beach Tan company, please make sure that if you have the manager signing you up he explains everything and get it in writing. Everytime I have to go into palm beach, it's always because my main tanning place is closed & I didn't catch them in time. Had nothing against Palm beach in the first place until one day I walked in, maybe 20 minutes until close. Was super apologetic to the lady working the desk because of how late I came in. I told her I would like to do the Versa, as I have been using that spray tan machine for over a year and have loved it (I told her this)! The lady at the desk proceeded to tell me she "wanted me to try Mystickiss". The mystic is expensive , but not the issue. I enjoy the Versa quite a lot, and I didn't want to switch up something that's been successful for me for awhile now. So I told her no thank you. Then she goes "wellllll I really want you to try it so I think you should!!!!". At this point i'm getting frustrated, So again i tell her no thank you i would like to use the Versa. She offered a third time and started explain it and I just ignored her and told her I wanted to do the Versa. After this, she tried to sell me a spray tan package. I explain that all i wanted today was 1 spray of the Versa, also stating i appreciated the offer. She tried to push me into spending $75 for 3 sprays, which is not what I came in to do. After i denied her the second time on this offer, her whole attitude switched. She was angry and took my card and charged me without saying anything else. I get she was probably upset I didn't take up her offer, but later when I told this story to my usual tanning place lady, she told me the Palm beach lady didn't want me to do the Versa because she would have to clean it again after I left. LOL OK, it's her .....job to....clean it ? That's what a job is last I checked. Moral of the story, don't go to Palm Beach unless you want to be pushed multiple times into spending way more than expected, and feeling bad for denying it. Nothing is wrong with their machines, just their customer service. Next time my tanning place is closed and I forget to go before they close , rather save my time & money and wait until they open the next day. read more

I got a spray tan here today. It looks awful. Very uneven and it was still sticky and wet after. Got all over my clothing. Also very pricey. $40. Definetly not as nice as four seasons in Lakewood which is half the price. read more

Very poor customer service. I have a $50/month spray tan membership which includes the medium color Mystic tan with a clear cartridge (gradual color) , and I was told by the manager that "no one gets that anymore because it will be blotchy and orange". He told me that was trying to be careful to not offend me, and he said that to make the spray tan look good I would need to purchase add- ons which are an additional $5/ session, averaging at an additional $50 per month on top of my original $50. I knew that this was not the case, considering I have always gotten this type of tan and it turns out even and natural looking every time, however if he is attempting to sell more product by telling customers that their original tanning package is useless without additional purchases, Palm Beach should seriously reevaluate their marketing strategies. read more

Just wanted to make sure tanners would know why I would discontinue my membership before I do. I had my membership on hold over the winter months and during that time they changed names . When I went back to activate my membership, the girls at the desk made sure to tell me that I could no longer use the stand up beds with my membership and the new company. I thought that was strange but I figured it was possible. About 2 weeks later, I came in for a tan and there were no beds available. The girl working that day said "would you take a stand up" I explained that I had been told my membership didn't include that. WRONG she said of course it does, it's the same as it was when we were ... tanning. That was annoying only because one of the girls who told me that I didn't have stand up had been there under the previous company. The worst was into my second month of activation I went into a bed for 20 mnutes. I made sure to put on all my lotions which always seems to add 5 minutes to the session got settled in. Tanning is a time for relaxing and wouldn't you know the music from the booth behind mine was so loud, the base was jarring the bed I was in....I tried to look past it but the music and bass only got louder. The patron in that bed had their own boom box....which in my opinion should not have been permitted. I got dressed and went out to the front desk where you could actually hear that patrons boom box music as well. I said to the girls......I know you hear how loud that is . Why don't you go knock on that door and tell him/her to turn that down. They said they couldn't.......REALLY ??? That person was permitted to play music so loud as to cut short my session and disturb obviously anyone else there but they couldn't knock on the door. Frankly I never saw anyone who looked to be a manager in the place. Even if there appeared to be beds open if the two girls at the desk were hustling a sale, they would make patrons wait until they were done...sometimes up to ten minutes which seemed unnecessary since there were usually two of them and two computers. One of them certainly could have put patrons in a bed! I really think the service is at best mediocre. I'm probably willing to pay a little more in order to be treated like a "valued" customer. I had a pass five tans for five dollars and had been a guest to try it out with my sister over the weekend walked in today to use the coupon and Katie the manager rudely told me I couldn't use it there and I would never go back there again based on her snarky attitude. Ive always been on the fence about tanning salons and tanning in general, but this location puts very little doubt in my head now. For the last few months, I've gone to this location because of the consistently excellent employees who work there. Every single employee is kind, polite, professional, and the list could go on. Never have I had a bad experience there. I never expect to be greeted when I go anywhere and I never minded it either. However every time I walk in I get a warm "Hello Jake. How are you doing?" They smile at me, they joke with me, and I'm usually quiet when I'm there cause I'm shy. It's just a great feeling and I always look forward to seeing them as much as for the tanning itself. I'm sure they have bad days like any other human being and they're allowed to, but you wouldn't notice. Great hard working staff. They're always cleaning up and taking care of everyone. I've gone there for 2 years and I'm very happy. The staff has always been very nice. I use the spray tan and have been very pleased with it. People always remark how nice my tan is.
