It's like a full on spa feeling every time I go in. And when I come out, I'm always in such a better mood! Not to mention I'm tanner. If you want to tan, this is your place. Don't be afraid to call and ask if there's any deals going on. Sometimes they have a "buy one month get another month free" and it's worth the call. The ONLY downside I've found is that they're closed on Sundays, but that's certainly not a deal breaker. :)

Great service and hostesses!…read more I've been regularly visiting TR to use the Gold and Red Light beds to alleviate seasonal affective disorder. I began with a one month Gold membership for $50 - tan as much as I want, and I used the red light during their happy hours (two hours after opening and all day Sunday). Just last week I opted for the $40/month Gold membership which is unlimited gold tanning and red light. I go several times a week, the red light is so relaxing. The hostesses have all been so kind, helpful and informative. After i had been to happy hour several times over two weeks, one of the hostesses recommended the gold package. So I did! I've never been to other tanning salons, but I love this location and the team spirit that I hear about. (They all took a day and went rafting for a staff outing! I love to hear it!) Much love!

I have mostly positive impressions, I was surprised with a free unexpected upgrade on my birthday, and reception staff has generally been friendly and competent with a couple of exceptions. I don't care for the fact that individual tans you buy expire after one year. Also on my initial visit to this business I was extremely clear about what I was seeking, conveyed this to the rep, but she was relentless in telling me I needed an unlimited monthly membership I didn't want. I left that day repocketing the hundreds of dollars I had every intent of handling over. I returned for the beds and hours. I didn't use 1/3 of the tans I bought the first year, so asked reception if they could work with me on a new package or if I could speak with management. She referred me to email management, but stated it was policy that no name could be given to me for whom I would be working with. I've corresponded with "management" and still have never received a name of the manager I've dealt with though I asked for it, but they asked me for my name and DOB. "Management" did, however, credit me the tans for this year which I appreciate. Today a bed bulb and one of the four facial bulbs was out on the bed I was assigned. The receptionist when I exited expressed they'd had a technician working on it, so a known issue. I asked for an upgrade to be put on my account for the uneven tan, and she was hesitant. I decided instead to email "management" to request personally. "Management" advised me that beds do have issues especially during the busy season, but did provide the credit. I feel it's pretty obvious to state to me that issues can occur, an apology would have been better received. I've never had to wait for a bed no matter when I've come. All things considered, I would definitely recommend this Albany Tan Republic for the generally consistent quality service and product provided.

I followed step by step instructions from her and the picture on the wall. I don't think the machine was properly cleaned. There's no way, it was like an old spray can that was clogged. Jenny was fabulous. She walked me through all of the specials that would fit my needs; she was incredibly patient, and she walked me through everything I needed to do for the spray tan. She told me how to maintain the tan and all the tricks to make it last longer. Since I was visiting and not able to get to a shower in the time she recommended, she provided me with some items of hers to help wash off the tan so I wouldn't turn rusty. She was so nice and helpful. Best experience I have had at a tanning salon!

On top of that, the waiting area had no distancing with folks sitting right next to each other packed in like sardines. No sanitizer available or regular sanitizing of the card machine every patron touches. This place is not using safe practices. I used to tan in high school and college all the time and was always going into tanning salons who had rather snobby employees so I have drug my feet in buying a package but I have officially met the owner and this guy who works and they are both a breath of fresh air. Highly recommended!! I was told on day one if the level bed that I tend to use is unavailable they will do a free upgrade. And in just a couple days tanning I've already experienced that. Pricing is amazing -so much more affordable than chain places. The shop is quaint and clean most importantly friendly. They've got my business :)
