This is a no frills tanning salon that could definitely use some updates BUT the staff is top notch. They are all so helpful and always answer my numerous questions. Kirby is the BEST! She is so helpful and anytime I have questions or issues she so quick to help and resolve. I have been a member for the spray tan services for several years now and the quality is great. I'm not orange and minimal streaking. It looks natural even on my pale skin tone. If you're looking for somewhere quick and reasonable in the Mt. My goodness how tanning beds have changed in 40 years! I had questions, a lot of questions, and the mgr, Kirby, answered each one and explained all the benefits of the new beds. PBT offers several services and membership levels. Stop in and give them a try. So far, they get 5 s. We are going to soon and I wanted a little bit of a base tan. The front desk girl was rude and short and the bed was dirty. Not to mention just walking in the store was like missing paint on the walls multiple places and just tired. The only decent Employee is Gabby and Desiree. Those are the two that I've dealt with outside of a girl named Julie and she was incredibly rude and short. read more

I purchased two tans in February 2025 and when I purchased them, nobody told me that it would expire for the second spray tan. I came into the shop and found out after being out of town for some time. Zero transparency, when you buy a package, and rude people behind the that have no interest in accountability. The salon is so dirty. They bought it several years ago and promised to update it. It is just as dirty and run down as it ever was. The bed is supposed to have a mister and there is none.​ Your request to send you an email and someone will contact me proves just how detached you are from the business. Since taking over I have to say customer service has improved greatly. And I like they give a larger towel and goggles.

Went in on a Saturday to get a spray tan before attending a conference starting on Sunday evening. The spray started and it felt odd, super cold, and just different from other spray tans. After about 20 seconds of it spraying I realized it was not "misting" as it should, and I looked in the mirror and it looked as though someone had thrown brown paint on me. Tried to wash it off in the bathroom while at Ultratan and it did not make a difference. I asked the only employee working if I could use the other spray tan booth to try and cover up the disaster from the first tan. She informed me I could but would have to pay for it. I was shocked I'd have to pay after what just happened. I hoped by taking a shower I could remove most of the color. That didn't work and knowing I had a conference to attend, I decided to go back and pay for the additional tan, in the working booth, only because I was desperate to hopefully cover up the mess on my skin. The employee told me to reach out to Brianna the manager on Monday for a refund. The second tan did not cover anything up from the first tan, they both looked horrible and I had spent $70 at this point. I called Brianna on Monday, left a message. Same on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and the next Monday. No answer, no returned phone call. I have disputed the charges with my credit card, and I would not recommend this location to my worst enemy. I get it, things break, stuff happens, but to not return or answer any of my phone calls and try and make this right is NOT acceptable at all. read more

i didn't catch the name of the girl who helped me that was working there, but she was so patient and so helpful with answering all of my questions specifically about cocktail tanning! i have really fair skin and was concerned i would walk away looking unnatural, and she helped me find the best solution for the spray tan and tanning bed. After a few hours since getting my tan I can confidently say i look like i have a natural bronzed look from laying out on the beach! i will definitely be signing up for a membership. read more

I'm leaving for Mexico and I went to sun station today to get a spray tan. I was super nervous going in as my last spray tan by ultra tan was TERRIBLE. One of my friends had suggested sub station so I thought I'd give it a try. I used the versa spa spray tanning machine and I couldn't be happier. I had about one million questions going in and I'm so grateful April was working, she seriously made my experience wonderful. She spent time about 30 min going over everything, she wrote down what I used so I could use the same next time, and she also fixed a blemished spot on my chest from where I accidentally left my necklace on. Y'all. She is a rock star. If you're unsure about spray tans I totally suggest going here but also calling first and making sure April is working so she can give you the full run down so you are totally happy with your tan. I will never go anywhere else! read more

I don't leave reviews very often, but here goes. I've been going to this location for years - even before Ultra Tan bought it, and ever since they did my experiences have consistently gotten worse. I'm sorry to say that today was the last straw. It's like none of their employees are on the same page. Every time I go in I'm told something different and given some BS reason why I need to waste more money. Today I was told I couldn't tan longer than HALF of the available time on the bed because I hadn't been in the last 30 days. She used the excuse of a DHEC regulation. Well, I went and looked up the regulations and read every single one of them and guess what? There is no regulation stating any such thing or anything close. She argued that the rule had been in place for years and yet I had never heard that a single time I had ever been there before. I tried to talk to her about my last visit to give her an example but, miraculously they got new operating software sometime between now and then. How convenient! Furthermore, they require their customers to purchase their own eye wear in order to be in compliance with another DHEC regulation when the regulation specifically states the establishment SHALL (which is legal mandate language) provide patrons with protective eye wear to use if they don't provide their own. And Ultra provides nothing. Basically, making everyone buy their own is a scam. And, I really wish I knew the name of the woman I spoke with today because she was absolutely awful. Not only did she try to pitch me these scams, she was very unprofessional with me from the outset and was screaming at other employees to clean beds because they were "absolutely filthy" and needed cleaned - in front of a lobby full of people! Not something you want to hear before laying down in a bed. I worked in the tanning industry all through college before I went to law school, so I'm very familiar with the rules and how these places are supposed to be run. I always give the benefit of the doubt, but this place.... is the worst. read more

I never leave a review but with this experience I had to. Before going to ultra tan I tried to call to ask if I had to make an appointment, nobody answered or gave me a call back. I decided to show up and when the woman at the front desk ask for my name I said that I hadn't made an appointment so my name wouldn't be In the system. Instead of nicely explaining to me that they accept walk ins she rudely goes "...okay so are you going to give me your name" not only this but it was my first time at ultra tan using the spray tan machine and she seemed inconvenienced having to explain to me how things worked. She rushed through the steps of how to use the machine and then left me in the room to try and figure it out. THEN immediately after my spray tan my hands were already spotting after I had applied the lotion in a way she had told me. I went to the front desk after to ask if this was normal and they shrugged me off not giving me the time of day. Rude staff and super unprofessional not only this but my spray tan looks absolutely horrible. My two arms are completely different colors and the tan is blotchy. Do not go to ultra tan. read more

Staff is friendly. Usually little to no wait time. High end bed options and decent pricing compared to other places I've been for the nicer beds. Open later than some other places around town which is also great. Some of the rooms are a little difficult to maneuver in while putting on lotion as they're pretty small. The only decent place to tan in Mt. P all in all would recommend. read more

Ugh, I can't recommend this place anymore. Just today, I went in looking to hop in a bed with no wait, as per usual (I go early when I never see anyone) but was told I had to wait til one person was done (mind blown because they HAD several Level 1 beds...). Come to find out Ultra Tan, who took over as of March, decided to scrap all of the Level 1 & 2 beds with the exception of one bed a piece. The only beds they will have in excess of (with virtually no wait time) will be Level 3, which cost two to three times as much as Level 1 bed packages. I've been tanning at this Sun Station for four plus years and have never had to wait nor will I (Only one (1) Level 1 bed, really???). I called the corporate office to complain and *of course* their mailbox was full - go figure. I know it's not much to ask but if you HATE waiting like me or taking a number when you won't need to somewhere else then don't bother coming here. read more

I have an Equatorial vacation in 11 days and needed some help and protection for my pale winter skin. I have studied the importance of preparing for the sun in such scenarios with plans to snorkel and zip line in a bikini. The best protection, in my opinion, is priming (with a session or two of level 2-3 tanning), a sunless spray tan (which is reflective and protective) and good sunscreen for the real deal. Lulu knows her stuff-she can speak medical lingo and knows how burning works. She knows it on a cellular level, down to the melanocytes. I am very happy with the service and facility. My skin will be the better for it. Will refer others. read more

If I could give zero I would unfortunately... The salon has recently been renovated, but I think bulb changes would be a little bit more important than fresh paint on the walls. This salons beds are not what you would expect for such high prices also the staff can be a little temperamental at times you never know what you're going to get. Unfortunately I have spent a great deal of money here thinking that things would change but they haven't. The restrooms are subpar and the beds half the time have not been sanitized even know the Sanitation signs are on the bed. I would not recommend to others please try A different company. read more

Awesome Tanning Salon! This place is convenient to where I work. They have a huge selection of beds and the staff is friendly and very helpful. They gave me a tour of the place on my first visit and set me up with my membership and lotion. I would recommend this place to everybody. If you like to tan this is the place to go by far! read more
