I have been a loyal and happy customer until my engagement ring was stolen from here. Ive spray tanned at least twice a week for 3 years, most of the employees knew me by name and were very nice. One evening I left my engagement ring on the ledge in the booth and returned to get it and it had already been stolen. 2 customers sprayed after me so 1 of 4 people took it, 2 employees or 2 clients. But knowing that the rooms are cleaned after every person I can't trust to return here anymore. This has been a traumatic experience, I was hysterically crying in the salon but management lacked empathy and basically told me I signed a waiver. What kind of person steals another women's wedding ring. And after doing some research Ive sinced learned this is not uncommon for employees to steal valuable items from clients. Dilapidated, run down, unappealing vibe. I do understand that I pay the minimum for the PB One membership, but this is unacceptable. This bed sounds like it's going to explode every time I get it in and it's clearly in horrible shape. I was shocked when this is the bed they put me in. The rest of the store looks bleak and barren. The bathroom hasn't been updated in years; toilet seat stained and everything rusty. So, there are not that many tanning salons in the area, so I guess you sometimes have to settle. I used to go to this location a while back, but took a break for a while after I had kids. The location is nice looking and the guy behind the counter was really nice. He offered to give me a tour, but only showed me the left half of the store. I had to ask what was on that side like it was some type of secret. They only offer monthly packages which are $60+ a month or a 1 time spray tan for $50. Crazy!!! He said that since I was a long time customer and still in the system, that he would sell me 2 spray sessions for $40. Just like that, he took $30 off. So, here is my pet peeve.... I had to wait for the machine to heat up and after it did and I got in for my tan, all that came out was hot air. The guy forgot to put the tanning solution in. I had to wait for the session to end. Then I told thre guy what happened and he apologized, but I then had to wait for the cleaning cycle and warm up cycle all of again. I was there for about an hour which was just too long. I should have been compensated something considering that the tanning solution is one of the MAJOR parts of selling a spray tan bed. The people who came in after me were in and out before I was. Positive: The tanning booth was large and blew hot air which for anyone who spray tans knows that this is awesome b/c usually you get the chills. They give you nose plugs to use so you do not breathe in the tanning solution They give you lip balm so your lips do not get a funky tan and do not taste gross Negative: The fact that one hand is clearly darker than the other Trying to upsell me and not remembering the main component of the tan The length of time it took to get tan. I will go back for my 2nd tan, but I do not want to pay monthly since i am not a super tanner who needs to go weekly. read more

This is the first time I can say I have had wonderful service at a Palm Beach and I have been to many in the metro Atlanta area! I stopped in on 3-30-18 and was greeted by a very friendly guy working. I'm terrible with names, but I know it started with an H! He was so helpful and not pushy whatsoever, which is what I typically get at any other palm beach! I was doing a spray tan for the first time in forever so he reminded me on what to do and helped me pick out the best color! I never once felt pressured into doing an upgrade or purchasing a lotion! Although he did try to sell me a lotion (which is totally fine!) he did it in a very professional way and when I said I was not interested he didn't push it on me! Palm Beach Tan is the WORST. They have a shady situation where "only their corporate can handle billing and account issues" and not even a manager at a store location can assist you with anything. First, if you put your membership on hold --they don't tell you that it doesn't go on hold immediately when you sign the paperwork. It only does after the 27th, so if you cancel on the 29th and you think you're on hold... you still have to pay a FULL month until the next billing cycle comes around. Learned that one the hard way but icing on the cake-- the manager failed to actually turn in my paperwork to corporate to put my membership on hold so they charged me a full month AGAIN the 2nd month. When I called and they admitted the mistake on their end, they said they couldn't refund my card on-site and they would have to call corporate. Corporate said it would take about 8 business days, and now it's been almost 3 weeks and I still don't have my money back for THEIR MISTAKE?! Absolutely insane their corporate can't refund an incorrect charge immediately. Funny they can take your money and constantly try to up-sale you on-site every time you walk in (which is annoying in itself), but they can't give your money back for a mistake they made! read more

I came into this establishment on 7/2/15 looking for some quick one-time session. After 10 minutes of debate I gave up and gave in to what the woman behind the desk told me was the "best" option. She said it would be somewhere along the lines of $29.99 for 3 sessions of the "Level 3" tanning booth. I handed her my credit card which she swiped, then gave a confused look at the computer screen. With my card still in her hand, she said "Oops, that was for the level 1, the level 3 is like ten dollars more." And without even asking me if I was OK with the price increase, just went ahead and ran my card again!!??! The total was around $41. WTF. I couldn't believe it, but I didn't want to deal with it any further, so I signed, jumped in the booth for 5 minutes, and got out. So today (7/31) I returned. I was greeted by an employee who asked my name, had me sign something that I apparently was supposed to sign before, and asked what I wanted as far as tanning options. "Just the same thing as last time," I replied. She went on to tell me that I had only paid for ONE session last time. I said, no, how could I of paid for one session when it shows I paid $40? "What's the date?" she asked. "The 31st," I replied. So she picked up her calculator..."Oh, your sessions expired. Would you like to purchase more?" I almost lost it. "So you're telling me I paid $40 for 5 minutes? I was never informed of my sessions expiring, not to mention why the hell would they expire?" Frustrated, I grabbed the managers card and walked out. The manager's card has no email, and only the main phone number for this location. I went online to find a number I could call. There is a list of numbers you can access if you click on the "Would you like to speak to customer representative in your area?" I called the number (which I discovered was the same number for multiple locations on the list) and it asked for a PIN number. The way this company is run really blows my mind. read more

I love this place. I've tanned here for 3 or 4 summers and I've always received great customer service. They aren't too busy that you have to wait in a bed, I've maybe waited twice. The staff is friendly and usually greets you by name. read more

I bought a 1 month membership here last week. It was a bit more expensive than I was hoping, but the beds are really great quality. And with my month membership, they gave me one free spray tan! The only thing that was disappointing, is that my membership goes on a calendar month and not just a 30 day cycle from when I joined. But they do prorate, so its not terrible, just a way they got an extra $20 out of me. The staff was nice and so far have all been helpful when I have questions. I bought a new lotion when I signed up, as you get a discount on purchases made at that time. The lotion is a new one by California Tan, which is the brand I've preferred for the last 10yrs. It has more bronzers in it then I expected though. Even though my skin has come out looking great, the palms of my hands are a bit orange after tanning. I wiped them off on the towel after applying my lotion (before getting in the bed), as this can be a common problem, so I was surprised when I got out an saw my hands. The lotion itself has great moisturizers though, so I guess I will just throw a pack of baby wipes in my bag to wipe my hands since they aren't provided in the rooms like they are at some salons. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. I'm an out of town customer and was told I could use my sessions at any Palm Beach location. After getting back into town I found out I am NOT allowed to use my sessions anywhere else but the store I purchased them at. I am not a frequent tanner and felt like I was taken advantage of JUST TO GET THE SALE. Now that Palm Beach Tan has my money, they don't care how they treat me. Thank heavens for this Palm Beach! It's wonderful--the service is always friendly, the tans themselves (I do Mystic spray tans) are perfect and last me almost a week, and the prices are the best in the area. Nose plugs, goggles, chap stick, booties for your feet, a towel, and of course barrier cream are provided free of charge in each room, which is pretty awesome compared to the last place I went that provided only barrier cream and a towel. 100% recommend this place! read more

I go for the Level I tans (for good reasons not important here), but the Level 1 room is unventilated (like, completely, no air escapes or comes in, and it's an endurance race to see if you will finish your 13 minutes before you cry uncle from the heat). And for the love of all that's dear, do NOT go in there for at least 20 minutes after the last user or risk serious personal injury by heatstroke. (I mean, really though, put in a little vent in the top of the door, for Pete's sake, if adding an A/C duct is gonna cut into your profits too much!) So, I started using the stand up booth instead, sometimes in the total darkeness because they failed to change the dressing room light for about a month, but then the tanning bulbs started going out. I mentioned it to the staff, and they told me they would see to it, like the bulbs were in the back or something. Next visit, more tanning bulbs were out. Repeat. Next visit, I was assured the bulbs had been replaced. (They hadn't. Now six out.) Repeat routine next visit: lie, take my money, oops, lame excuse. From the aforementioned excuses given by the staff for why the maintenance failure on basic Level 1 bulbs, I can only assume they are actually made of unicorn scrotums and that they must be installed by a single high priest who'd taken a lengthy sabbatical to Standuptandiland. Nonetheless, staff were more than happy to take my money up front and lie to my face about the condition of the booth to lure me in. Also, definitely keep track of the expiration date of each "package" you buy and how many sessions you have used. Sessions *do* seem to vanish without a trace from their "system" from time to time. May the odds be ever in your favor! (Oh, and does anyone know whether the bulbs in the Level 1 standup booth have been replaced yet? It's been, like, six months. Or are they ALL out by now? The mystic tan booth has always been my favorite. Now they have mystic kiss & it's even better! However, their sneaky billing tactics & proving has not improved. Very unfair & excessive charges for any number of "reasons". Sigh. Also, the package pricing just gets worse and worse. I suppose I'd be okay if I had NO wait time once I arrived...or, free water or something. But, no such luck. The high prices must get some folks in but, it's so disadvantageous until I don't see how folks can stay with this co. Very dishonest and immature staff. Just after leaving Palm Beach Tan, my sister realized she had left her wedding rings in her tanning room. When she called to speak to an employee about finding the rings, the employee was very insensitive and unhelpful. She was told that several customers had been in and out of the room since she had left and there was no way of knowing who these customers were; clearly this was a lie because my sister had just left the establishment and surely they have a customer sign in sheet? The employee's story continued to change until the police arrived. Luckily an hour or so after the police made the report, the rings magically showed up and my sister was called. Who knows if they were stolen but complete honesty and professionalism would have been nice here. read more

I went to the tanning salon to buy more section, however the girl there was very rude. I had left two section form another salon that combine with this one. After I did one section I got parts of my body burn and parts that not even touched. Second time I went there and asked the girl about it and she said this is what we have. Really? no other explanation? NO other machines? I walked away. I cant understand the owner of this salon, all the reviews are about her employees and they keep them. Hire nice people that care about your business first, cares about your customers, care about them self. I saw three girls there .They are unprofessional and very rude. I bought a package of 6 tans for $200. The person at the counter only looked me up after I insisted -- to tell me they had expired. How did they expire, if I only used 1? I'm not a complainer or protester -- tried to talk to her and gave up and left. Seems like they get many complaints, as her 'I'm not a manager and I can't refund your money' spiel was all ready and came out fast and unsmiling. I guess I could have insisted on a real conversation and asked the current price, because I am desperate for a tan...but here I sit in my car, thumb typing. They used to be much nicer. I was SO impressed with the customer service at this location! Jase was amazing with answering my 50 million questions I had. Left with a membership and am excited to continue my tanning process. I walked in with no knowledge of tanning - I am getting married in June and was told by friends that I need to look into tanning asap (as I only have 3 months to prepare). Jase was extremely knowledgeable of all the offering - both spray tans and booths. He spent time with me going over my options and helped me to understand what I need to do to get my customizable tan. Other members jumped in to give me their opinions/advice as we spoke. It can be overwhelming to hear too much info at once - but they kept it simple and to the point. They were pretty busy (as I went on a Sunday afternoon...) but they still gave me great one on one attention while still being able to check others in and attend to other customers. They helped me through the whole process without being pushy on what they offered. Overall their knowledge and understanding of the process really makes me want to continue with this establishment. Everything was clean and nicely prepared. As this was my first tanning experience - they helped me to feel comfortable with the machine and gave me time to figure out what the heck I was doing!! After my tanning session I forgot my engagement ring! They ran after me to return it - with lots of giggles along the way. Overall - I am super impressed with this establishment. I was getting lunch nearby and decided to stop in to get a tan here... Haven't tanned in 2+ years but I used to come here when it was Hollywood tans. I asked if there was a new customer discount and the lady at the front said no. Ended up paying $47 for one tan and an individual lotion. Ridiculous! Place looked sanitized enough but the bed itself was pretty old and the only music I could listen to was a really lame trancy cd. What a huge waste of $$ read more

Very disappointed. Be warned if you buy a prepaid package. The packages apparently have an expiration date that they don't tell you about. I lost nearly half of my prepaid visits because I didn't use them in 90 days. When I asked to see the contract that I signed that indicated this, I was told that it wasn't in writing. Stunned by the horrible, petty, and 100% unhelpful service at this location. I signed up for a mystic membership several months ago but only used one session. When I called to confirm how many sessions I had on my account, the employee said I had 1 session available because they expire each month. I informed her that the no-rollover detail was not explained to me (reading the other reviews, it seems this is a theme/tactic for this place). Instead of demonstrating the most BASIC CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS and offering literally ANY solution, she said she was going to roll back the video tapes (to 5 MONTHS AGO) to see if this was explained to me. What a completely ridiculous thing to say to a customer. The staff is Rude and they have terrible customer service. Shitty when you pay $75 a month to be treated like dirt. They sit on their phones the whole time and their machines are constantly "broken". Extremely over priced. Also staff is very pushy when you go to cancel your membership. Had to go back twice because they just froze my account the first time, which still charges you.
