When you arrive there is a board on the right that says what today's special deal is. On the wall on the left is the menu. It took us a moment to decide. Then you step up to the register and order. Find a seat and they bring the food to the table when you're ready. We ordered a small King pizza: Pepperoni, sausage, Canadian bacon, fresh mushrooms, black olives, onions, red, yellow and green peppers.we had ours with no mushrooms, slice of chocolate cake to share and 2 drinks. When they brought the pizza they put the metal pan on the table. She did not provide us with any plates or silverware. I say this because a couple had come in after us and when they had their food delivered later the pizza was put on a stand. They were given plates and silverware. We ended up helping ourselves to the plates stacked on the counter and I had to ask for 2 forks so we could eat the cake. Now let's talk food. It was sooo delicious! Some of the best pizza I had eaten in a very long time. The crust is thin but light and flakey and just enough sauce with a touch of sweetness but not overly so. It was so good that even when you say you're done your hand betrays you and picks up another slice. As for the chocolate cake, the cake itself was good and the icing was super sweet. If I went back I'd try a different cake like the tiramisu or milk cake we saw. In conclusion we'd both go back for the pizza alone. It was that good. That we would hope for better service next time like plates and silverware but also wouldn't let that deter us from the food here. Our total came to: $27.62 read more

Great pizza, terrible service. We've had our orders messed up the past 3-4 times we've been here. This time, they brought out the wrong pizza and said they'd go remake it. Literally 30 MINUTES LATER, we got it. This is what happens when a bunch of high schoolers are running a business. Which is a shame because the Scorcher on cauliflower crust is excellent. They literally just threw some lettuce in a box and said here you go. No croutons, no Caesar dressing, like what? And whatever dressing they gave me tasted horrible. I've been eating at Palio's since I moved to Midland 4 years ago. I love their pizza. It has a nice crispy crust, and it always tastes fresh. The one negative about their place is that it can get really slow, even when it's not busy. I want to account it to making everything fresh to order, but I'm just not sure why it always takes so long. Otherwise, this place is great. I also enjoy their salads. The ingredients are fresh, and the salads are never bland. I would definitely take my friends here, but I might not if we were in a rush. read more

I live Italian food, this is one of the newest Italian restaurants in Midland, from outside I thought it's going to be small and too crowded inside, but that was not the case, in fact, interior is rather open and non claustrophobic with a great deal if sunlight shining through the large glassy walls. My five stars deal entirely with food quality, this is what matters the most to me! Pizza is served in small, Medium, Large, and Extra large. The sizes run small compared to average pizzas. Pizzas are thin crusted, with impressive well priced specialty pizzas, with the different toppings. Pastas, are exquisite with perfect sauce/pasta ratio, with great flavor, and aroma, served with slices of delicious bread. Salads are available as well, ranging within the average salad served else where. Deserts are chocolate cake, cannoli, and chocolate dipped cannoli! The last is a must, I have not tried it before dining at this great all Italian place. At lunch time we noticed that the line at the cashier's counter does not seem to end, customer base seemed already established. Easy to understand how fast they gained their customers trust in their distinguished food and service. We already concluded that we are looking forward to returning next day for another meal at Palio's. Parking is not an issue. You order first and then sit where you want. Employee on the register was very nice and knowledgeable of the menu when we had any questions. Restaurant was nice and clean; and the employees(seem short staffed) are multitasking and doing their best to fulfill and make the orders. -The Pizza is their strong point. We order a small pepperoni pizza and it was delicious. The sauce didn't taste artificial or bland, and the crust was nice and crispy. Their pasta however, disappointed me and reminded me of the frozen pasta entrees you can get in the freezer isle or even the quality of Fazolis.. It was edible but not something I would pay to get again. -For 1 small pizza, 2 pastas and 2 drinks, it was $42. Definitely this place need more staff! The first time I went, the same lady who was cookong, was the cashier and the one serving the food, so of course it took a long time to get the food. Second time we go, we order a kid's pizza, two pastas and a salad. We get the kid's pizza and waited for over 30 minutes for the rest. I go ask the lady who's cooking (the only one around) where's our pasta and she answers clueless: "What pasta?"... well long story short they lost our order, brought one pasta and it was not the one I ordered, took 10 more min to get the other pasta after repeating 2 times what was the pasta we wanted, and forgot the salad.
