I am a terrible painter but I honestly made the best painting of my life here. Ashley made the experience fun and looked to my strengths to give me advice on what I could do better. She gave me different tools throughout the process to help me accomplish the look I was going for. One of the best things about this place as well is that if you don't finish in your first visit you can come back at certain times and have full access to their resources and advice even if it takes a couple times of coming back to do so. Coming here gave me confidence in my ability to actually paint well and it was not stressful at all during the process. Next time the wife and I get a chance to have some free time, this place is definitely going to be on our minds!

Please seek it out if you're interested in purchasing art. The owner is an artist herself and is often rushing between teaching at private lessons, classes at UK,classes at the Montessori school, and so on. If that is the person that was rude to you, believe me, she would bend over backwards and apologize profusely. She is just that nice. This gallery has work from many local artists, as well as some who aren't local --paintings, prints, jewelry, sculpture, ceramics, etc. It's a good place to get art at a reasonable price--"reasonable" meaning fair to both artist and buyer. I'm not sure if I'd call it a "traditional" gallery, but then again I'm not an expert in *gallery management*. I'm sorry the visitor from CA had a bad experience. I hope he'll give it another try.

I really am grateful to meet someone who knows what they're talking about and has enough time and energy to do it. I had my father's service medals framed here. My niece took them to the shop. I didn't give…read morespecifics as to what I wanted exactly, and just expected a professional job. When the framing was finished, the shop owner sent a picture for approval. The name was wrong on the name plaque and she redid this. The total was $538.80, apparently after a 30% discount. I was floored by the price and was not happy with the look of it, but took some responsibility for not being more specific and decided to live with it. The photo was not even matted, but just glued on top of the mat and the photo was sitting right on top of the brass plaque. After getting it home, the metals started falling off the mat board. Two fell off completely, and 3 more appear to be about to fall. In addition, on closer inspection, the placement of other items was not completely straight. I called the shop and requested a partial refund, no longer confident in the work, and figured I would take it elsewhere for a more professional job. I wasn't asking for the entire amount as I could reuse the frame, glass, maybe the mat and possibly the brass labels. The owner promptly called me back and said she would redo the work and pickup/deliver to my house, which was nice, but I told her at this point, I'd rather have a partial refund and move on. She at first agreed to refund $100, saying I should have been more specific, and that "this discussion is tabled." Then she texts back and said that she forgot the amount she'd had to pay for the brass labels, that she made nothing on this job, and was not refunding anything. Please look at the photos and decide is this is a $760+ framing job and then decide where to have your framing done.
