In the old days we had one movie theater with one movie and we loved it. And when the movie was…read moredone it left forever and a new movie came in. This theater is like the old days. One screen and one movie...if you do not like the movie, then you might have to wait a few weeks for a new one. I really love the old days and the simple times of what the Antioch Theatre offers. Early bird tickets are only 4 bucks. That is an incredible deal and honestly you can not find a better deal anywhere. This theatre also has a balcony too. I have not watched a movie from up here because this seems to be where the teenagers go and I am sure they are not watching the movie, so I better stick to the main level. I have explained to my little one that most theaters I went to as a kid had balconies. She thinks that is cool. I am sure she will want to sit up there with a boy but I am going to cross that bridge when I get to it. One of the coolest thing that this theater does is free refills on soda and popcorn but that is not the cool part. They actually will come down the aisle during the movie and check to see if you need more, then they will go and fill it up for you. Are you kidding me? Who does that? The staff is also super nice. The worker behind the counter takes your money for tickets and can also fill your popcorn or soda request. What I really love is the old school tickets. The tickets are actual tickets like you would see at a raffle but this is how tickets use to look when I was a kid. There was no printing on them with the name of the movie or the theater number. I also love that they have the old school ticket machine which spits out the tickets. I must be the old one in our group because no one else remembers those. Man am I getting old. The workers will also do some trivia before the movie starts and you have a chance to win prizes. They also run a contest on Facebook to win tickets. I always seem to be late to the party and I have never won, even though I typically know the correct answer. One of these days I am going to win...I hope!!! So if you are looking for an old movie feel and what to go back in time when movie theatres still had charm, then this is the place. The prices are super low and the staff is really friendly. There is also plenty of parking around with spots in front of the theatre with a two hour time limit and spots behind the chamber of commerce that have a 6 hour time limit. So depending on how long the movie is you can park accordingly.

Friendly and helpful staff, excellent line-of-sight and sound experience, comfortable theatre…read morechairs, and balcony seating - all adding up to the great movie palace tradition.

Love the Faire. We don't dress up, but really appreciate seeing all the people who do. Favorite…read moreshows are definitely the joust tournaments and the Dungeons and Shakespeare show. The latter involves audience participation and every show is different, so we always see Dungeons and Shakespeare multiple times. The guy is brilliant and the whole thing is very clever. He's also not in your face begging for tips like the Mud Show. We haven't seen them all, but other good shows are Menage A Moi (raunchy), Barely Balanced, the Washing Well Wenches and the Fire Whip guy. Need to get to fire whip and jousts early as seats with views fill up.

I went here with my 5 year old son and friends…read more General parking is super far. It's $10 versus $20 for preferred. Definitely pay the extra $10 to do preferred. If you arrive later in the day, drive to find spots where people left. Tickets are pricey! Then you go there and everything but the shows costs money. Be prepared to spend. What we did: Pony ride $10 Other rides for little kids: $4 per person. My son enjoyed these. 4-5 rides spread out. Jousting show - all the seats fill up fast. We sat on the ground. My son liked it until a man's throat was slashed, I probably should have looked at the ratings. He learned about pretend death that day. Fire show - good! Mud show - 20 minutes was just amping the crowd up. I got bored and left. All the shows are super cheesy, Must eat: The mushrooms are so delicious. I'm not even a mushroom person. The broccoli and cheese bread bowl was really good! $14 I didn't see Shepards pie otherwise I would have gotten that. The cheese fritters are so gooey and cheesy. Too much for me, but good to share! My son had pizza ($9). Fruit sherbet - unique it's in a frozen lemon or pineapple. It was tasty! $8 Waffle cone - big, two scoops. It was a standard waffle cone. Lots of bees in the food areas. A ridiculous amount. Otherwise bees weren't bad. The hair braiding was a reasonable price. Go there early so that you get an appointment time that isn't hours later. We'll go back every few summers.
