It was nice that we could bring any food and drinks we wanted, even some Champagne and hard seltzer for parents. Cheers to that :) Also, it was nice to have the party at a room separated from the main store. Besides the pottery painting I added cupcakes decorating activity and it was a success. All kids loved it of course! A week after the party, I received a text message that all our pottery was ready and thats so nice too, much quicker than expected. I definitely recommend this place! We came here for lunch at their dining hall, which is open to the public - be sure to call ahead to the campus to see their operating hours, as it does change frequently. You have to purchase a meal ticket per person at the bookstore, in which the receipt is then checked at the entrance of the dining hall. The 'main' part of the dining hall is reserved for the staff, while the next section that is separated by a partition is for the public/students. The lunch spread is two parts, and it's AYCE - one is a salad bar, and the other is a hot food bar in which the menu rotates. When we went, the hot food menu had burger buns, breaded and grilled chicken breast, steamed veggies, french fries, brown rice, and vegetarian beans. There was also fresh toppings, such as iceberg lettuce and sliced tomatoes, pickled jalapenos, chile sauce, and condiments (ketchup, mustard, sriracha, A1, etc.). The salad bar has a good variety, and there are also individual packs of salad dressings and croutons. I enjoyed the breaded chicken and the seasoned french fries. The burger bun was kind of dry, and the hot entrees could have been more temperature hot (they were more lukewarm). There are also racks of cereal, potato chips, different types of breads (toast, bagels), as well as a drink station (tea, coffee, juice, and soda). A toaster is also available. Staff are kind and friendly, and they do replenish the items quickly. Everything is self-service - when you're done with your plate(s), there is a section by the kitchen where you dump your liquids, separate your silverwares, cups/mugs, and the different types of plates/bowls. Bathrooms are located right outside of the dining hall, and they are maintained well. We took a class where we learned how to create a glass pyramid from a mold, and it was fascinating from start to finish. The demonstration was easy to follow and really fun to watch, and then we got to make our own with hands-on guidance throughout the process. The class lasted about an hour and a half, which felt like the perfect amount of time, and we were able to pick up our finished piece within three days. Seeing the final result made it even more special.

It was really cool to see all the different options of items you can make at the studio. We actually looked into the other classes that they had and are interested in coming back to make different things such as pumpkins or glasses. After seeing the final product of what we created, we fell in love with the art pieces we made. Everything is so unique, the color selections and the process of making them went really well. We decided to opt for the extra option of adding the glow to our our pieces and it was totally worth it. This was a totally fun date idea for the price. Like I said, we'll most likely be back to do this again because we love the art pieces we made and would like to make other ones too.

We worked with Susie the week before the party on selecting a picture to paint. The birthday girl had fun picking the picture! Susie arrived early to set up the easels and the tools. Event kicked off on time and we caught up stragglers pretty easily. Susie had a great demeanor with the kids. She walked around the table helping the kiddos and addressing concerns on erroneous strokes. The kids were very engaged and loved the painting event. Plus cleanup was quick and easy. We were easily able to move on to lunch and cake.

Over the period of about five minutes I witnessed him move from behind me and speed up to pass me on the right with very little space between me and the car in front of me, holding his phone to his head, weaving in and out of busy traffic, and his head disappearing as he reached around the car for something (while driving and on the phone). Hardly the model of driving instruction I'd expect. These drivers need to be more cautious of the example they're setting with a giant driving school sign atop the car. (Full disclosure that I've never had any business dealings with them, just this one on-road observation.)
