The quesadilla was pretty greasy, but in a nice way. All three items were pretty protein heavy. The man working at the stand was very friendly and spoke English and Spanish. He got the food ready in under 10 minutes and packed it up well for takeout. There isn't a place to eat on sight, but everything was still delicious when we got home.

This is the 3rd year my family and I have attended empanada fest in Pawtucket. This event is part…read moreof a larger Pawtucket Arts Festival happening throughout the month of September, be sure to check out their website, there's a lot of cool stuff happening! Todays location and vibe was that of a block party, set up right in the middle of the street in front of the Pawtucket Visitors Center. They sell 350 tickets that are $10 if purchased online ahead of time or $15 day of at the check in tables, which is a super reasonable price to sample some of the city's best empanadas. This year there were 8 participating restaurants and each one did a nice job of representing their brand. There was also free face painting and caricature drawing tents available for attendees and an awesome band playing live music. The volunteers we interacted with were nice and this year they handed out these green frisbees, which most people used as plates to collect and carry their food. It's a great time and really neat idea and totally worth checking out. This years event had some logistical problems which caused long lines and significant crowding in one area of the block party, hopefully they learn from this experience and try a different set up for next year.

Outside of expectations, I found that they offered knishes (it was unclear to me why the ice cream side of the building had food you'd think would be on the deli side, but whatever). The sign said these are freshly baked on Fridays and not always available other days, so I figured I'd give them a shot. These were some delicious savory pastries, properly reheated, and while I in my marginal Jewishness struggled to pronounce them I found it notable to see this specific culture at a vegan place.
