Oh, this bar. I have so many stories, and so many memories. First of all, I met my awesome boyfriend here, so don't listen to anyone who tells you that you can't find love in a bar. It's entirely possible. I could go here all by myself on a random night, see someone I know, and have a blast. Everyone is, for the most part, so friendly. palace was a good bar but they just allow anyone to work there. I lost my phone inside and security said I was not allowed to go inside and look for it but instead I could pay him $25 to look for my phone. when I said no and told him I need my phone he CALLED THE POLICE. he also called me a bitch because I told him I need my phone for work but he continued to lie to the police and said we touched him. then when the police got there they said they thought we put hands on him which was not true. the police wouldent even look at the video they let them keep my phone which was pinged to palace. do not go here unless you want shitty service and a security guard who is in desperate need for a retwist to try and power trip. read more

Palace is not what it used to be. Years ago you were able to meet your friends there and make more through the night. Beer and sake only, but the right people made it worth it. Sadly now the new servers are lazy, unfriendly, and you'll be waiting for a single beer on a slow sunday night. The floors are always sticky now and you probably wont be playing pool while waiting for your drinks because they're either broken or definitely missing the queue ball or 8 ball. They love and prefer drug dealers, underage kids, and perverts. It is no longer the place we knew and loved. If you would like to be made uncomfortable I would highly recommend going! read more

We have been at FSU for 4 years now. No bar has made us feel the way palace does. The workers are SO friendly and inviting. The drinks are delicious. I personally recommend the grape sake pitcher. An employee that works at Palace named Joey Mills was there tonight but was not working and harassed a friend of mine. He chased after her in the parking lot where her car was and ambushed her/verbally offended her. His actions were completely inappropriate and made her uncomfortable to the point where she began crying and begged him to stop. He didn't stop. He kept trying to escalate the situation and wouldn't stop yelling at her. He even tried to begin a physical altercation with the male friend she was with. If this employee was displaying aggressive behavior and made her that uncomfortable, who knows what else he has made other customers/women feel. He needs to be fired immediately and shouldn't be allowed on Palace property. read more

Palace is the go to spot for a reason!! In the span of a week, my friends and I became regulars and honestly came back every night until we all left town.. You have to be a certain type of elevated person to love palace as much as we do.. not everyone can wreck their cheeks there. Bring cash for 1$ beer and sake shots outside. This is exactly what it sounds like! A historical saloon that's been around for ages. It's a Smokey pool hall with darts and beer and wine. Unfortunately they lost their liquor license a while ago so beer and wine it is. They do have sake though which is a nice addition. This bar is a great representation of what Tallahassee really is, dirty, but if nothing else a good time. If you don't like the smell of cigarette smoke this is not a bar for you, if you do it is one of the few places that you can smoke inside. Their amazingly simplistic variety of drinks makes ordering pretty easy, you get beer or saki. They have about 4 pool tables and 5 or so dartboards as well as a jukebox for entertainment and the people are always a good time . If you're not from here and looking for a good unique time( unlike the college bars) take a trip down to palace and you won't be disappointed . read more

This is your typical Tallahassee hole-in-the-wall bar that everyone loves to go to. You can play darts, pool, or just listen to music with your friends around the bar and have a good time. They have a patio area to hangout although smoking is allowed inside. 10/10 will smell like cigarettes the second you enter and leave this bar but if you don't mind that then you'll love this place. They don't sell any liquor at all, it's specifically just beer and saki. They take saki and mix it with different flavor energy drinks so you choose which "flavor" you want. I always go for fruit punch. This definitely isn't my first choice bar for a night out but my friends who are smokers really like to go somewhere where they're not constantly getting up to go smoke outside every other drink so every once in a while I don't mind joining them for a casual night out. read more

This fuckin place. It is the perfect shitty bar that you could ever go to. The beer is basic, the place looks like it's abandoned and you leave smelling like you've been smoking 5 packs a day ever since you were a baby. Yet, this place is incredible. This place is a complete dive, and completely awesome for that. A beer only place, with great drink specials and the ability to start a collection of 22 oz plastic cups. It's Southern, it's dirty, it has weird stuff on the bar, but it was one of my favorite places to get smashed in the area. You can play darts, pool, Golden Tee or just enjoy the scenery. Watch out if you're driving out of there towards the East Side of town, as TPD is known to throw out road blocks in the area. read more

Tons and tons of smoke. Its almost unbearable in some areas of the bar, almost made me nauseous at times. Its kinda expensive to drink too. On wednesdays they have a special called mans day wednesday where the cover is 10 dollars if you have a palace saloon cup, otherwise the cover is $12 for all you can drink. To me 12 dollars is outrageous, i can go to bulls which is not only cleaner, nicer and filled with beautiful Tallahassee locals and the cover is only $7 for all you can drink. Another thing that i didnt like about the Palace: service kinda sucks. I don't like berating employees or staff of any establishment, but the palace really disappointed me the last few times i went. Why all the flack? anyway, as says yes its dive-bar and tries to have that "southern charm" to it, not the place where the "fancy dressed ball" is happening. Crowds on most nights is actually pretty diverse, properly the more diverse bar in town. Just has a nice laid back and welcoming vibe to it. Yes those who don't like smoke might be bothered by the low roof smoke presence, but its not that bad (coming from a non smoker). Music isn't yelling over loud. Service on most nights is good. One of the bars where the beer is dirt cheap. The con,, parking is very tight, bathrooms are tiny (new york city size=very small) often have lines forming, bouncers are drunk half the time and yet quickly push everyone out at 2am sharp. Concluding,, its not an accident as they slogan themselves as "friendly" its a nice spot to meet new people at the start of the semester, or just socialize around. Isn't on the "dangerous" side of town, but don't let your guard down if your wondering about. Cops love to hide out in the area on Thursday-Saturday nights so be careful. read more
