At first I wanted to give this place 5 stars because the staff is friendly and the atmosphere is nice, but the quality of the nails just isn't acceptable. I paid $55 for gel manicure and gel pedicure. And tipped $8 (not because I liked the nails, because my nail lady was nice). For one, it seemed like she was in such a rush, that she drew blood cutting a few of my nails, and pushed the cuticles wayyyy too far back. I usually get tips, but decided not to risk it trying a new place. Thank god I didn't. Almost everyone of my nails isn't painted all the way, with corners and sides bare. My toenails weren't properly treated for ingrowns/dried cuticles or even cleaned. (sorry for my gross toe pics lol) I honestly won't be going back. $55 wasted because they didn't start off looking good and they're starting to chip already! I got them done two days ago. read more

So I've given this place about four attempts to do the most basic Manicure. And the nails tec are rude and easy upset when you express not liking how your nails look. The owner always has to come over, and once that happens, the Tec gives you nothing but attitude. They walk away from their workstation. So unprofessional!!! The owner would have to step in to fix my nail. TODAY was my boiling point . But it's crazy because if I'm paying for a service and a look, do it the right way. Let me be clear the owner Nancy is nice and would accommodate you. But when you have to always deal with their present nail tec, it makes the experience unenjoyable. I would rather pay an extra $20 and deal with professionals and nail Tec that know how to do nails. My nails look they are about to take off like an airplane. read more

I come to Philly a lot and always stay at the same hotel. For whatever reason I am never able to get my mani/pedi before I leave home and this time I chose to get them done in Philly at Palace. And am I glad I did!! I went as soon as they opened at ten and was greeted warmly when I walked in by the owner Nancy. Minutes later I was in a chair getting a gentle massage and having my pedi done. The place is bright and clean and the beauty therapists (as I call them) were efficient and pleasant in spirit. I don't usually like to chat when I'm getting my nail therapy but their personalities were so bright I couldn't help babbling from start to finish. I will definitely make this a permanent fixture in my trips to Philly. I'm very pleased and was in and out in an hour. read more

We recently moved into the neighborhood and I am still on the look out for my new nail salon home...and I think I may have found it at Palace. I went in late on a Thursday and Lisa had me in and out (mani and pedi) in 1 hour! She did a beautiful job and not only was she super fast, but also very friendly. The other women in the shop were also friendly and the salon was clean. And although they don't carry OPI, they have a great selection of matching gel and regular polishes. Well..until Thursday everything was ok good price and nice job! Normally I did the promo gel manicure and feet polish for 40$. But in the last few times after 2-3days my nails chipped and broken I call Thursday for see if there are available for a gel manicure, the girl told me that I need to wait a little, I ask specific for an amount of time and she told me 10minutes. I drove directly from work, arrived there and before me there are other 2 customer so for sure I didn't need to wait only 10minutes but much more. I asked and she replied to me that she told me the right amount of time but for sure there was not 10 minutes. I don't think to return anymore there. read more

The salon is clean and the staff is nice enough. I came with my mom and sister since this salon was close to where we did lunch. We had an appointment but one of us still had to wait for a while since one of the ladies was with a costumer, I actually don't mind that so much. The mani/pedi itself was only ok. They gave us a set of colors to chose from, these were a free match for gel colors the salon purchased and were of extremely poor quality. Both my mom's and my nails were mostly chipped the very next day. We later noticed that they did have some Essie colors in the front. They did not have any Vinyl options that I usually go for. My toes still have some visible dead skin around the nails after the pedi. From the other reviews, this sounds like a one off, but we'll stick with our regular salon next time. read more

I went straight to the pedicure chair without hesitation, and Mary took care of business. She did an excellent job. She was swift, professional, and my feet felt nothing but love. I have been trying to find a new nail salon and I had read the reviews from other customers and decided to give this place a try. I made an appt. for 11am on a Sunday morning (which is when they open) and was greeted and immediately sat in a pedicure chair by Nancy. She was super polite and friendly. The place has a great atmosphere and they've been there for 5 years. I went in for a regular pedicure and a gel manicure. They have a great selection of colors. My pedicure included hot stones which felt great. While my gel manicure was on the last drying phase, which was done by Lisa, she got up and gave me a nice, quick shoulder massage. Definitely unexpected, but much appreciated. I was the second customer in and I had expected it to take about maybe an hour and a half or so. When you get right down to it, there are a ton of places in the Philly area to get your nails done so you have to be special to stand out. The ladies working here are all pros, unlike some places, this salon breeds consistency. They will go out of their way to make sure your experience and their services, are top notch. Prices are reasonable, especially when you consider that they really do take the time to carefully cut your cuticles and clean your nails and shape them the way you want. The salon is immaculate, even with a tiny yorkie running around (the thing barks but she's pretty friendly). Also they don;t use paper towels, they use towels which they wash and dry, very eco friendly! I really don't know how this place isn't constantly packed, it's the best in the Northeast. read more

Rose did my mani/pedi and was awesome. Super chill & nice, she did an awesome job, I'm weird about people cutting my cuticles but she didn't nip me at all. I will definitely be going back. She also does eyelash extensions there! Mani/Pedi Special on Monday-Wednesday is $25, which is awesome! I believe it's also $10 for a regular manicure and $20 for a gel manicure, and they have matching nail polishes of gel and regular in case you want to do a gel manicure and regular pedicure :D They also let you tip on your card, which is a life saver if you're like me and you never have cash! read more

I went to this salon (after trying a few in the area) and it was OK for a while, but they have this dog there that is about the size of a small football that will bark and bark and bark at you for no reason. Not too relaxing. Then it seems their service has gone down hill. The owner does not know how to do SNS even though she tries. I would just have preferred her to say, "i don't know how to do these" instead of trying and me coming back not once but twice because they broke. Then the straw that broke it for me is scheduling a Mani/Pedi with my husband at 11 when they opened. I even asked when I called the night before and said "are you sure you don't have any 10am appointments? we can come in at 10?" We got there at 11:07 and they must have had 10am appointments and a TON of walk-ins (in 7 min) because they did not have anyone available to start our 2 pedi's and had someone in the chairs waiting before us. I'm really into nail art, and some places will accommodate the crazy stuff I ask for, Palace being one of them, without blinking an eye, which I always appreciate. I got a pedicure an acrylic refill and gel polish (with designs of course). Pedicure was good, she took her time and we had a nice chat, super friendly. My biggest complaint is the fact that my toes started peeling and the polish on one toe was completely gone after two days and my gel polish began chipping after three days. I went to a different salon to get my nails done again 3 days later. I would go back, but I can't afford to get my nails done every three days, I need them to last at least a week, which is why they lose points in my book. read more

I decided to try this place after not having lasting manis at Epitome. Once I stepped foot in here, I was very blessed. It's very nice inside, and their polish colors are amazing!!! My favorite place to get my nails done!! I've been coming here for about six months and wouldn't think of going anywhere else! I usually get acrylic over my nails and regular Essie polish. Went in as a walk in for a sns manicure, sat right away which was good. But I asked for color after color and they were almost out of they're limited array of dip colors. The color I finally was able to get was not the same as it was on the wheel. And now, not even 24 hours later the dip is cracking off my nails and the edges are lifting. read more

Came across this place after grabbing a bite at Nifty Fifties and so glad I did. The place is kind of in the tuck but when you go inside its very spacious and clean. I got both a pedicure and manicure and even tho it took a hour or so the nail tech, Rose made conversation the whole way. They Def engage with you in there and make sure the job is done right. Best nail salon I've been to in a LONG time. With so many salons to choose from in the area, I looked on Yelp for the best one and I was not disappointed. I had a full set done, so did my mom, and my mom also had her eyebrows waxed. Let me start by saying, my mom and I walked in (without an appt) at 645 when they close at 730. There were 2 women working and we were immediately seated and worked on. Nancy did my and my moms nails and she did an excellent job. My moms eyebrows also look better than I've been seen them and it was only $5 for a wax!! On top of her excellent work, Nancy stayed an hour and a half past closing to finish our nails. She was so sweet the entire time and i think it's safe to say my family is now a lifetime customer of palace nail salon. Highly highly recommend this salon.
