*DO NOT COME HERE* came here on Tuesday to get a SPA pedicure. I got gel and acrylic on my toes. I asked the male technician with the AirPod in his ear the whole time to do my big toe ombré. His name is " SQUID " . I always get a design on my big toe and he made all the excuses in the world to not do any design on my big toe. I told him that my acrylic was lifting and he just cut the side that was lifted and painted over them saying "he's airing them out". He let me go with bumpy nails and days later I was at work and there was a bubble on my nail. I tipped Squid well even after I left unsatisfied. My nail polish lifted and also did my acrylic in less than a week!!!! Beautiful place but not worth coming here. I'm here now actually getting my toes fixed and I had to explain to 3 people what was wrong when the person I talked to first told me she was going to handle it and let someone know what happened. Well I had to explain myself 3 different times. I will definitely not be coming here anymore. I spend a lot of money on my nails and toes but they will not be getting any money from me.
*** Update! A little less than a week passed and I now am even less impressed than i was initially. As you'll see in the pictures, some of the nail tips have broken off, and the chrome effect and gel has chipped and faded. I dont think I was any more rough on my nails than u usually am. But truthfully I'm not sure. I could have been a little too hard on them. There could have been a difference because it was a different brand of products. Idk. Either way not worth $60. But I will give them another try sometime and see it if it was a fluke, so I wont lower the rating just yet. *** So I broke a nail a few days ago. I have a usual spot that I go to but they were not open and I wanted to get my nails fixed asap. Looking on Yelp, I found that Emma's was both open and incredibly close to where I live. Upon entering, Emma's is very aesthetically pleasing. Its clean, contemporary, and inviting. There's separate sides for hands and feet. I arrived just a few minutes after opening but there was already a good amount of people who had already got there. Still, I only sat for about 5 or so minutes before my name was called and I was sat. That was a huge plus. From what I saw, the staff is majority younger women but I appreciated that the business seemed to maintain professionalism. To get the rest of the pros out of the way, the young woman who did my nails was pretty good. She was attentive and explained everything to me. No complaints at all. Now for the less appealing parts. I wanted to get the chrome that I saw on the pictures and was told that it would be 60. 55 for some combination of An sns base and tips, gel, and chrome. Then 5 for a coffin shape (square is the basic shape). At the end of the day I was satisfied but not impressed so much to make this my new regular spot. I think people should definitely be paid fairly for a service and I mean not to knock anybody's hustle (and im also not one to go solely by price when it comes to my nails) but if I can get it done cheaper elsewhere and it's the same quality??? I pay 40 at my spot and thats for ombre nails and shape included, I'm also in and out in less than an hour (from start of service to finish, not including wait time ) where as at Emma's I wasnt done for almost 2. Overall, 4 stars. I'd go back here If I were in a pinch again.

I am extremely picky about who does my nails and how. That being said I really LOVE how my nails came out from Emma's nails. I had a tech named Brian and he's definitely my new boo! I requested the ballerina/coffin shape and it was done perfectly. He took perfect care in applying the acrylic, nothing felt rushed. I wanted a little jazz and I let Brian do his thing, instead of giving me nail art he gave me nail MAGIC! I also like that they take cash and cards, they aren't cheap however -- my full set was $73 with two design nails. I think it's worth it tho if ur into nail art or want a place that is invested in nail care as well.
I got my nails done by Frannie and let me say she did the best job I've ever seen compared to all the times I've got my nails done. From the length and shape sis did her thang I've never seen someone so focused and cared about getting the job done and looking great , she da shizznit definitely recommend her for nails period she's deff the new nail tech now purrrr
Today was my first time trying this place from a referral and I must say I was impressed and I will be returning. I didn't get the girl name that did my feet but she did a great job. She was very tentative to me asking was the water fine and how does my feet feel and did I like the color that I had chosen. Tony did my nails and I love them. He was so professional and precise..! I have been searching for a little while for a new salon because where I was previously going into they were falling off. The layout is very modern and chic. Everyone that works there is young for the most part so that's a plus when it comes to having all the latest designs. I got a purple gel hydraulic chrome. At first I was hesitant because I don't usually do designed nails but I felt like being on the edge.
First time coming here to get a full set and I must say I'm impressed. Love the selection they have in colors especially matte. Would highly recommend coming here. They do only accept walk ins so be prepared to wait a little. There's a tv and a movie was playing so it made the time fly.
I love my nails and pedicure and Noemi did an amazing job. Will definitely come back! They were well worth the money and I've received lots of compliments.
This place is extremely overpriced for the same stuff you get anywhere else. It's a small space and overcrowded. It's mostly young, urban employees. They're really nice and have a decent amount of colors to choose from in regular nail polish, gel, and dip colors. The pedicure area is on the other side of the wall, but they're not massage chairs. They have only a chair for waxing by the pedicure chairs and the wax doesn't even take off the hair from your skin that well. There is no pricing list anywhere inside. They tell you paying cash lowers the price a little more with a "cash special." There's an ATM inside. I wouldn't recommend this place due to the pricing. They charged me $76 for a regular pedicure, gel manicure and eyebrow touch up wax. WAY TOO MUCH!
Found this salon on Yelp after I just moved here. Took everyone's advice and asked for Andy. Preface: I am rediculously and annoyingly picky with my acrylic nails. Especially the paint job. I expect the powder to lay thinly over my natural nails and even. Tips straight across and the sides filed even or my type-A personality would pick at it. I wouldn't let Andy apply gel the first time because I'm always naturally afraid that if I don't like the paint job, I can't just take it off at home. He insisted that he's different and I give it a shot. I warned him that if make it take it off and start over if I didn't like it. He did an absolutely amazing job. Please see the picture below- sides, edges are 100% perfect. No streaks in the paint, especially since light milky colors are the most difficult to perfect. I travel half an hour from Center City to go here (I've tried 10+ salons in Center City and they're all mediocre). Seriously, go to Emma's- ask for Andy (bald headed Andy since there's two) and you won't be disappointed. I trust him enough to even let him pick this color before even looking at it. And that says a lot for a control freak like myself.
I barely ever get my nails done, so while searching for a new place to try, I came across Emma's on Yelp. All the great reviews had me right in the car and on my way. I have a bad finger biting habit, so I thought some cute nails would help me curb it. Andy really delivered! I came in unsure of what I wanted, showed him a few pictures of cute polka designs I liked, and he pulled through with awesome gel mood nails! Great prices, extremely friendly, and they do an amazing job!
This place was nice got pedicure right away but the lady who did my toes did a terrible job i still have my old nail polish still on the sides of my toes i also had gotten a french tip that looks like trash didn't notice until i left yesterday nail polish isn't fully painted on my toes very disappointed paying 34 for a shit pedicure. On the other hand got a full set the girl who did them did a great job but didn't paint sides of my nails. At this point i would like a complimentary pedicure!

I was introduced to Emma's Nails by an old co-worker. I've been coming here for over 2 years for gel manicures and pedicures. Emma's was recently remodeled and looks more beautiful than ever. The employees are friendly and accommodating, including the owner Andy. He always makes sure his clients leave happy. My go-to girls are Pebbles and Phanny, but I've had my nails done by other techs and I can confidently say that everyone does an excellent job. Eyelash extensions, waxing, dip powder/SNS and mood colors are among other services they offer. Prices are fair. For a gel manicure and a regular pedicure, I paid $52. Cash and card are accepted. If you pay with cash, however, it's cheaper. They do have an ATM available on site if you don't have cash with you. It does tend to get busy between 5pm-closing so expect a wait if you stop by after work. On Saturday mornings, there are usually customers lining up outside. Make sure you arrive early and sign in if you want a specific technician. read more

I've been back and forth about posting this for a while because this place checks all the right boxes. They're clean, their schedule is organized and they don't overbook, they take appointment deposits, etc. The manager/owner is very nice and very skilled. My first time there He immediately helped take off my gel while my nail tech was getting the table set up. He also gave me some great advice about general nail maintenance and cuticle maintenance. I think my techs name was Alex, I don't remember what the managers name was. I asked for sunflowers on a black background and asked him if this was something he could do. He insisted he could and I let him know that it was completely okay if he couldn't because I had a backup design. He ended up not being able to do it and had to ask another tech to do it. They came out more like daisies than anything and I wasn't thrilled but I didn't want to hold up the appointment behind me by asking them to redo it. The worst part of this was when he started clipping my cuticles, he cut the entire side of my finger. Not just a little nick...the cuticle clippers took a chunk out of my finger. He apologized and I said it was okay because mistakes happen, but it happened AGAIN. Two chunks taken out of two fingers. (See in pictures below) To me this is unacceptable. I also asked him to be very careful with the silver drill tip because I didn't want to be cut. He cut me anyway and then said it's because my cuticles were dry. The cut was deep, it had nothing to do with dryness. I considered returning at a later date and just asking the manager to do my nails, but I can't ever go back here. read more

So my friend and I have been searching for a salon we can call home and we've absolutely found it in Emma's. The staff was extremely friendly with each other and the customers. They really make you feel comfortable and welcome. They also really know their stuff... I'm my search for a nail salon I went to one that really had no business doing gel manicures, he could tell immediately that it was a terrible job and got to work. He did an amazing job taking off the old gel and never once did I get cut! (It always seems to happen). I showed him a design and he said "no problem I'll do it but make it better" he wasn't kidding. While I was there I got to see a few designs that the people around me got and I was really impressed. They really seem to enjoy creating designs and encouraging each other to do some pretty cool stuff. Bottom line: I'll never go anywhere else again. read more

Emma's is a fantastic nail and pedicure location. Yes, they're often crowded, but that's because the technicians are professional and talented! And the owner, Andy, who also does nails, is a cool guy. They always have the very latest and up to the minute colors and techniques, so your nails on your hands and feet will always be poppin'. I always get compliments on my gel refill. ALWAYS. I've also referred two friends there and they love going there now! If you don't like to wait, they take appointments Monday through Wednesday. Otherwise, you may have a bit of a wait, especially on Saturday and at holidays. But you won't be disappointed. Check them out when you have time. read more

The people are so nice and always make you feel welcome, and do their best to engage in conversation and take care of what you want. I have been here 5 times now and have not left feeling unsatisfied any of those times, 10/10 would recommend! read more

There was no wait and my nails came out looking pretty good. Will probably return depending on how they last. Unfortunately, my nail tech was pre-occupied on her Snapchat and then on a FaceTime call for the entire duration of my time there. I felt like my nails could have been done quicker if I had her full attention, although she was very nice. read more

My first time going here and I'm obsessed with my nails! I needed someone to take my set off and put a new one with longer coffin shaped nails. And I never had someone do that shape so perfectly until I came here! read more

Emma's Nail salon is the only place I go to for my nails! All the staff at the nail salon are super nice and skilled I would give them 10 stars if I can. I used to hop around to different nail salons because those nail salons always disappointed me, but after I found Emma's nail salon ... I didn't have to search for other places. I was in the neighborhood, and decided to give this place a try. I was called quickly and I picked my color. From the beginning I could tell that the tech was a novice, as another customer stated nail sizing and shaping should be 101 especially if you are working on customers paying full price. I am not at all happy with the outcome if my nails, the lengths are uneven, and the shapes are off. Now I have to pay again to have someone else fix them. Double the price. I understand that they need to learn so why not have someone with experience supervise their work. Or at least let paying customer's know that, the person working on them is learning. So for the nails I really do not give the stars, what I do give stars for if the eyebrow tinting. The young lady was amazing and she explained the whole process. In all will I go back not really i will stick to my usually. read more

I can see why this place has so many good reviews, I definitely was not disappointed! I'm from NJ area but I come to Philly pretty often but I never tried out any nail salons here. My nails were looking ratch so I was in need of getting them done and luckily I found this place via Yelp. This place was packed upon entering (around 5pm) but I did not wait too long, probably 10 minutes or so. The interior is super clean and had a nice upscale vibe to it-I absolutely love the chairs and tables. I got my nails done by Tommy and he impressed me for sure. Usually I'm very undecided with what type of nails I want and thankfully Tommy had suggestions. He suggested I do an ombré and I'm so glad I did! I really appreciate how precise he was with the shape, he probably went over them with the file at least 3 or 4 times. The nails and shape came out perfectly, way better than I imagined. I will definitely be back!! read more

The inside setting of this salon is very unusual compared to others that i had gone to in the past. Its very pleasant inside. Once you walk in you have a sign in sheet, luckily it wasn't packed that afternoon. I waited about 5 mins and a guy named tommy came over to me and showed me to the area where he will be working on my nails the downfall to this was that once he sat down he decided to fix his fly...what a convenient time to do it so I decided to just ignore it and see what happens. He then proceed to helped me out, i explained that it was my first time here and how i heard about this place on yelp. For starters i love they there is more then one nail technician working here. It was about 6 of them on a long L shaped table. I didn't really like that the basic nail polish colors where placed right when you walk up into the salon, because once you sit you have to get up to walk all the way over there. As tommy was doing my nails (I've chosen to do a full set, with regular polish $25) the acrylic powder smelled HORRIBLE that was the first time i smelled it so strong so i asked tommy if the fan attached to the table is blowing the air up and he said yes...how great i sat there for about 15 mins smelling it. After he finished up he told me to rise off my hands. That was another thing since the sink was all the way pinched in the corner where a nail tech was working (it was a bit uncomfortable) after i rinsed off he painted my nails which surprisingly took only 5mins to do. Then i went to the restroom which is on the other side of the salon there they have a TON of pedicure chairs and in the center of the back room was the restroom which was a average size, the toilet though NEEDS an upgrade so it can compliment the rest of the place. Now the big question is will i return that depends. The shaping of my nails are okay, my right hand ring finger the acrylic is on a tilt and the middle finger is a bit big compared to the other one. I will try them once again to debate on rather or not i will make this my go to place. (UPDATE) This is now my second experience with Emma's nail and spa. The prices are a bit high especially for gel polish on hands ($15) on toes ($20). I once again paid $25 for almond shape nails with regular polish. I do not like the fact that they continue to try and persuade me into doing gel polish, besides that the lady i had was Chantel she was very kind and worked quickly and efficiently her work speaks for itself, i will be returning to continue to have my work done by her. I dislike the fact that they always seem to converse in the nail salon, like I don't mind it ONLY as long as you continue to do your job. They occasionally chat and pause the work that they are doing. But there are plenty of nail technicians to move the flow of customers in and out of the building. I can say that i was there for a short period of time it seemed. read more

After a particularly stressful week I decided to splurge on a mani-pedi. Having been happy with the quick polish change I'd received at Emma's I went back to give them a shot. Best decision ever! I received a great pedi that was painless, relaxing, and precise. Good job scrubbing, nice massage, polish is on point. I then got an Essie gel manicure and boy oh boy do my nails look beautiful! I'd stopped getting gels because no one seemed to do them evenly. Here they specialize in them. Flawless application, good lamps. Seriously my nails could be in a magazine! Love this spot, cannot recommend it highly enough, and to top it off everyone speaks English! Go to Emma's, you'll thank me later! read more

How are they with eyebrows I'm very picky when it comes to my eyebrows?
I believe they use the new painless wax and it's not good at all. The chair they use is next to the pedicure chairs out in the open.
