    Vs. What I got

Pretty clean place, very quick with seating you when you have an appointment booked. The man I had was a very nice guy and was very good with keeping his hand steady while designing. They don't look too similar to the picture but I'm pretty pleased with them.

Very clean shop, nail tech fixed my nails and made them look beautiful. Exactly what I asked for.

This place is so good! They are very clean & efficient! They massage your calf muscles too. I got a Pedicure and it was awesome!

This place is so good! You get a full body/chair massage for the price of a Pedicure! I highly recommend this place! It's clean and efficient!

First off i went in on a Saturday afternoon with my younger sister around 2pm. The interior of the nail salon was quite nice, a bit small for the seating area but they had about 5 to 6 workers working in various stations, some were doing a pedicure and others on nails. We walked in and noticed there was already 3 people in front of us which I didn't mind the wait. I signed in and in about 40 mins me and my sister had got called on. My sister went with a young lady and i went with a guy i didn't quite get their names but i sat down and the gentleman proceeds to remove my old nail polish. Afterwards he files them down and starts to apply the acrylic. Now I'm no expert on the application process on acrylic but i have seen it get done plenty of times to pick up on a few things. Now as he is applying my acrylic he's soaking my nail, and then shakes my nail to have the acrylic drop down. Now thats new I've never seen that be done in that way before. So i just waved it off and let him do his job and continue his work. Now after all the acrylic is applied he then asks me for my desired shape I specifically told him that i wanted an 'almond shape, just a little bit pointer' he then says okay but gives me a pointed arrow look. I noticed that he seem to struggle to do the shape of my nail look so i showed him a picture of what i wanted. You would have think i ask for something soo simple that pretty much ANY nail tech should be able to do. But sadly he could not, he then ask seconds later to see the picture again i showed him but i was slowly losing my patience and becoming to get frustrated with him. i was EXTREMELY disappointed but decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. Now he's already been filling my nails all crazy and cuts my cuticles a couple times because he's so rough and unorganized. he whines up messing up my nails. Didn't give me what i wanted and has the nerve to say he wants to try and fix it. I gave up all hope on him. And tell him i would like if someone else completes the job, he said ok and for me to wait. I then walk over to my sister and check her nails. Hers came out amazing but mines on the other hand did not, i have one hand incomplete and the other messed up with HORRIBLE filling. I decided to just leave. I paid the lady with my sisters job and walked out. The young lady that did my sisters nails told me that she can fix it for me but i told her no because for one you should know the jobs your workers can and cannot do. And two I've been there for over 2 hours and i would have to wait for the person she just started to finish her nails in order to do mines. I will NOT be returning here again!

I agree with another reviewer who said this is a hidden gem. It is very clean and the staffs accommodating. I had myself, my two children and my two grandchildren each get services. We all enjoyed our experience and look forward to going back.

Not too pleased with my experience. I went in on Monday, and although the wait was not long at all felt like they rushed on my dip manicure. I left with my nails bumpy and not even the same length. I had to go home and refile them. Today is Friday and 3 of my nails are chipped!!!! It hasn't even been a week. My nails aren't even up to my cuticle. It looks like a need a fill and it's only been 4 days!! Super disappointed. And I paid $65!!!!

After a week and a half. They still look good. Everyone took their time. I will be back.

The pedicure was a little rough but I think that's because I have small toes and most any pedi hurts when they put the toe separators on my feet.

I have been going to see Melissa for bikini and brow waxing for about two years. I first decided to make an appointment because of the stellar reviews and because her previous Kensington location was walking distance from my house. Although she has since moved, I would not think of going anywhere else at this point because Melissa really is the "bee's knees" (sorry, I had to). Melissa is professional, personable and fun to talk to, which makes the experience of someone peering up your downside far less awkward. She is also just very good at waxing: very little pain/redness and absolutely smooth. She checks in during the entire process to make sure that you are comfortable. I am not over-selling when I tell you that she has consistently given me the best waxes I have ever had. She will also make sure that the wax is aesthetically perfect: even on both sides, every stray hair gone and every rogue one put back in its place. She is meticulously clean and careful, which I appreciate immeasurably during COVID times. The prices are lower than or comparable to other Philly beauty studios that I've frequented. I should mention that I also always request "a la carte" additions to my waxes, so that they are somewhere in-between bikini/full Brazilians. In the spirit of avoiding the exhaustive pricing list many other salons utilize, Melissa has never once up-charged me for my hybrid bush-- and she definitely could. I don't often write reviews but Melissa really is an all-star who cares so much about her clients. I happened to be the only scheduled appointment today and Melissa opened up the studio and came in anyway. That is dedication! The past ten months have been particularly hard on small businesses, and I am very glad that Maebee's has persevered. Besides Melissa's tenacity, I imagine that this is also because many, many other people feel the same way that I do: Maebee's is where it's at! If you need a wax (or facial/make-up once COVID restrictions relax), do yourself a favor and come to this place!!

Given the part I get waxed, one can imagine I am scrupulous as to to whom I will go and Melissa is only one of two beauticians I trust in the city. The other is more expensive and farther from home. Last year I got married and Melissa did my makeup. Again, the price was fair and her flexibility, responsiveness and availability (with this and my waxes) always impresses me and simply makes my life (and my attempts to beautify myself) easier.

Kinaya is hands down the most knowledgeable, friendly, giving stylist I have ever been to…read more So, to back up a bit -- I had gone to another stylist a few weeks ago who dyed my hair a color I didn't ask for. I asked for a vibrant purple and she gave me a dark marroon. I was pretty unhappy about it so I searched online for another salon and found Textures and made my appointment. It turns out the previous stylist used a permanent dye on my hair so the marroon/red was incredibly difficult to lift from my hair. An appointment schedueld for an hour and fifteen minutes turned into a four hour appointment because Kinaya was determined to dye my 4c hair the color I wanted without damaging it. She put in blue dye at first but the color didn't take and was barely visible. She then put in a red/fuschia/orchard mixture and it finally worked. But it was 4 hours by the time everything was said and done! She most definitely did not have to spend all of that effort and sent me away unhappy with the dark blue/black barely there color but she wasn't going to give up until I had a color that pops and she absolutely ended up giving me an amazing color. Not only that, she was very informative throughout the appointment, suggesting products, explaining how to care for my dyed hair, dispelling current hair myths and more. I can't recommend Kinaya highly enough! I am so glad I have a new stylist who is going to let me rock fashionable colors, can't wait to come back!
