The Palace has been our go-to restaurant for years when traveling to Ellensburg. Now it just seems like a worn and tired version of its former self. The food is so-so and the dining room is dated. The best thing was the service which was terrific. I don't know what other options are available, but you should look to find a place other than The Palace when visiting Ellensburg. read more

Food was very good and the menu had a lot to choose from. We had a piece of carrot cake and it was phenomenal! We'll be back when visiting our daughter at CWU. read more

Food was delicious. I had strawberry pancakes. My husband had ham steak and egg breakfast. The staff was very friendly.

Thank you for having gluten free options and labeling your summer specials clearly. Food was great as was service. I will be back!

Everything you would expect from a charming local small town diner. Exactly what was needed after returning from a cold night of camping. Eggs Benedict is one of the dishes Palace Cafe was known for, and delivery was a massive and perfectly done plate of the eggs and hash browns. Very generous servings of side orders for bacon and sausages, their sourdough toast even came out with butter already thoughtfully applied. Was committed to finishing everything along with several cups of coffee, and definitely felt fueled for the remainder of the day until dinner time. read more

We are a big group of 20+ people and we go to Palace once a year and they are always more than accommodating. If you are in charge of a big group, I would highly recommend you interact with their banquet manager Theresa. She is so crystal clear in her communication and leaves no stone unturned. Our group loved our meal there and the service is always awesome. Above all, the old-school brick building aesthetics of this place is high level. read more

This is a nice small town diner. They have gluten free options and they do not use any seed oils. The service was good as well. When we walked in, the front bakery area had gluten free cookies for sale. For breakfast, they can turn any omelette into a scramble. It's $1 more for gluten free toast. I wish they had a few more vegetable options for the omelettes/scramble so you can make your own. The hashbrowns are delicious. read more

This is our go to place for breakfast when passing through Ellensburg. We decided to try them out for lunch and once again DELICIOUS . The club sandwich with middle bread taken out was fresh and tasty. read more

Located on the N. Main street of downtown Ellensburg, it's conveniently located on the corner of the intersection. An older building with lots of character inside: brick walls and black and white pictures hung on the walls. With a large group dining in, they were able to accommodate our party in a private room. Our server was really attentive and met all of our needs. The food was okay. I tried the fried green beans with my sandwich and it was okay. read more

We had a great meal this eve!! My Hot Prime Rib sandwich was amazing. It was exactly the comfort food I was looking for, and it really hit the spot! Hubby's Fettuccine Alfredo not so much! For $20 you don't expect the pasta to be dry, and you expect the garlic bread to impress and this didn't. However, as far as Alfredo goes, the flavour was very good and himself was pleased with that aspect. The portion for the price was definitely lacking. We were blessed because Micky was a great waiter, his smile was absolutely infectious! We greatly enjoyed our interaction with him. The restaurant itself was nice, with the right amount of lighting, and the music was enjoyable and didn't over power our conversation! We had a brilliant time! read more

The manager of a hotel I was staying at recommended to this place, but after eating pie and ice cream I was less than impressed. I was hoping it would be a mom and Popp kind of operation offering fresh pies and quality ice cream. It was very basic and not very exciting. read more

Atmosphere was wonderful as well as the service. Chicken fried steak with sausage gravy was awesome & the mimosa flight was unique and really enjoyable...so said my boyfriend. My cornbeef hash was so delicious I will be coming back next time I'm in town. I didn't give a five star because the coffee was sitting too long on the burner. read more

This is my go-to place every time we head to Leavenworth. The food never fails to amaze me. I've been here various times and ordered different dishes. I've been there with groups of people and we all share the different dishes to taste everything. Very professional, the food is done fast and to perfection. Interesting the decor. read more

Our go to place for 20 years since we moved to Eburg. My personal favorites include the onion rings, clam chowder, chili, fish and chips, shrimp Louie salad and the coffee. The staff has always been tops and I'd recommend The Palace to anyone wanting a good meal at any time of the day. read more

What a pleasant surprise! We were in search for breakfast on our way back from Seattle and found this little gem:) The service was incredible, all happy and friendly people working. We were sat right away and the ambiance was calm and the seats are very comfortable. And then... the food! The food was delicious:) I got the cinnamon roll with eggs, our daughter- a bowl of fruit and my husband omelette! We were all very satisfied and left with smiles! Thank you read more

This place looks questionable from the outside. Well, inside as well. It is dark with small dark table and chairs. Standard silverware, the cheap tin and paper napkins. cheap decor. The staff were all really friendly. Unfortunately the food was poor. What really sounded good was the mashed potatoes with crunchy chicken and covered with gravy. What could go wrong? See picture. It arrived swimming, yes swimming in gravy. I like gravy as much as the next person but this is ridiculous. I took one bite and sent it back. Gross. Powdering tasting gravy. I asked the waitress to take it back and I ordered a turkey bacon sandwich. It was a good tasting sandwich. The fries were the standard frozen kind. Ok. My husband also ordered the potato dish and did not care for it but did not want to send it back. I may give it a second chance. Just don't order the mashed potato dish. read more

So dimly lit. Feels dingy and outdated. The service was poor. The waiter was much more interested in helping the girls at the bar. And the food was subpar. Nothing spectacular happening here for dinner. We were disappointed as my husband and I are Central alumni and it felt like it went downhill. read more

Heading up to ellensburg for a show at the gorge and stumbled upon this place. Was craving some soup and it was clam chowder. This was probably one of the best clam chowders I've ever tried. It wasn't creamy but held a lot of flavor inside. Nothing was overpowering. It was very light. Wish more people made it like this. The sliders were disappointing. The bacon made it super salty and there was no special sauce with it so it was dry. Good thing we had ranch because I would've thrown it away. My boyfriend got the burger and it came with a special sauce, he really enjoyed it. Also, the fries were thick and crispy! read more

Sunday afternoon, party of 3 adults and 6 kids. Wonderful atmosphere and service. Variety in the menu. Kids had breakfast food, 2 adults had salads that were good and one fish and chips. Simple food, casual atmosphere. Recommend. read more

I had the fettuccine Alfredo. I am somewhat a Fettuccine connoisseur, and thought that I would compare it to other restaurants. I enjoyed the flavor of the meal, it was very good. The dish was a bit dry for my ideal, and the bread was about average. The waiter (Micky) was very cheerful and friendly, and did a good job. read more

It looked like a good place and I had high hopes. I ordered strawberry French toast, bacon and grapefruit juice. I'm glad they had the juice. Many places don't. The bacon was excellent. The French toast was a horrid mess of soggy bread covered with a mush of only just recently frozen limp strawberries from a can whose juice was poured onto the plate adding to the watery grave. The server was friendly but never checked back with me to see if my meal was ok. read more

Waited well over an hour for three sandwiches and a salad. My sister almost went into a diabetic emergency because she expected the food to arrive in a normal amount of time and it didn't! If I could give it zero star I would. Went there for breakfast this morning.. Stood around and waited to be acknowledged. Three different times someone walked by us as we were standing by the door.No one greeted us said good morning. How are you? We'll seat you in a moment. The place was empty. After waiting a good 7 to 8 minutes without being acknowledge we started to walk out the door. Finally someone acknowledge us by saying are you out of here? read more

Yup - 5 stars - as good as it gets for old school Americana cafe - hash-slingin, eggs easy, chickenfried steak, burgers, fries (no chips), strong coffee, enthusiastic sassy waitresses. Had a bfast sandwich and my partner had a burrito, they were both OK, and the coffee was good, not 3.75 per cup good! jeez. also, neither "meal" came with HB's or toast, I asked the waitress before I ordered and she said "yes they all come w/HB". I guess not. Nice decoration, good old school layout it was cool! got one star for that. read more

Why can't places like this have a draft list? Even though you have some rotating taps, all you need to do is post a chalk board with your tap list. Or, if it's stable.. then just have a beer list, but verbally offer your rotating taps. This place wants to recite the 15 or so beers they have at lightning speed. That's not pleasant at all. read more

Service is good and fast, the food is delicious. Like to come here often! I recommend this restaurant.

Food & Service was incredible! Only thing I can say is that the Eggs Benedict will NOT be "the best you've ever tasted, guaranteed" eggs are fried, not poached and Ham is deli slices. Just my two cents. read more

Not really eggs bene. Sure it looks like eggs benedict but the eggs aren't poached it's not Canadian bacon it's sandwich meat ham, and the Hollandaise sauce doesn't taste very buttery or lemony. this is not to say this was a bad dish it just didn't wow me in any way. The hash browns are your usual pre-cut from the food delivery manufactured that they fry on a flat grill and cut into polygon for you. The service was very good, the place is super charming that's how it went from 3 to 4 stars, and the bathrooms are very clean. read more

Yesterday around 1:00 while washing up in the rest room I heard a toilet flush. Out popped a young employee in a black Palace tee-shirt heading straight out the door, without washing his hands! I followed him out to see if he had a special place to wash up. Instead he went directly to bussing tables, sticking his fingers into glasses, picking up three at a time with each hand! I was appalled as I went back and broke the bad news to my party, already eating at my table. The young man appeared to be about 18 years old, tall with dark curly hair on top and cut very short on the sides. Carl V. read more

Awesome experience since my son had graduated and we went there with all our family and friends. Nothing like spending good quality time in a friendly environment and place. Nice atmosphere, friendly wait staff, good food. Stopped in for lunch on a weekend and it wasn't too busy, the food arrived fairly quickly. A lot of fries come with the burger dishes, and the appetizer quesadilla is easily enough for 3 people, it's also enough as a main meal on its own. Worth a stop if you're in town. read more

Drove to Ellensburg to meet some friends, they had already eaten so I went over to the The Palace to have a couple of drinks & dinner. I have been to this establishment probably over 28 mnths ago more than a couple of times so I felt good going into the bar by myself. Should have thought again. Bartender ignored me for as long as possible -not because they were busy, I looked around & could count about a table of 8-10 that was just leaving & 2-3 other table occupied- so 9 other customers. I finally got a drink, was nvr asked if I would like a menu. Had to ask for another drink. To which the bartender again ignored me again- I am starting to wonder what did I do to deserve this kind of service (or non service)... was I being loud, drunk, or obnoxious noooo I had drove. Into town from Kent and I drank water. So after ignoring me again, he finally gave me another drink (again nvr asked me if I would like a menu or something to eat--which I did) 2 other customer came in & received great Svc,,, again confusing me! I was preparing to leave and one of the customers asked why & I told him, he offered to purchase me a drink and some dinner-- the bartender then gave me a menu, but told the other customer that I was not allowed to have another drink, he didn't think this was the 1st place I had been & that I had been drinking prior..... actually said he did not believe me! WOW,,, I am not a kid , I'm 61 yrs old, have no reason to lie to a server,,,, so I left,, walked over to The Tav,,,,had drinks & dinner with the nicest, best servers & food....will NOT spend my $$ at The Palace again #ThePalace ThePalace.com read more

Cody and I stopped in here last Sunday around 11 am for brunch. When we walked up, there were people waiting outside. When we got to the counter to put our name in the lady told us it was a 30 min wait, with a 30 min wait time on food once we got sat... no diner enjoys hearing that lol. There's a bar attached to this place so I asked if it was "seat yourself" back there and the lady said yes! So we walked over to the saloon section of the place and there was actually a number of openings back there! She did warn us there was only one bartender so service might be slow, but knowing they were busy I kinda expected it to be a lil slow and it wasn't too bad! They have a large bar to sit at, and there's also a number of high top tables in the bar area that are included in the first come first serve section! We ordered: - cinnamon roll - Eggs Benny - Country Fried Steak with loaded hash browns - coffee The cinnamon roll was delicious! I had spied it on their specials of the day and immediately knew I had to try it! The food did take a lil bit of time to come out, but I never felt it was excruciating of a wait. I really enjoyed my eggs benny, it has a great hollandaise sauce on it! I tried Cody's loaded and hash browns and it was pretty good. I was trying to be good and not order both cinnamon roll and loaded potatoes, so I am glad Cody got it so I could try it lol. They forgot the gravy on his country fried steak so it looked weird when it came out, but they brought it out on the side and all was normal again lol. Cody mentioned he liked my eggs benny better than his country fried steak. Overall, I would come back here for their brunch! Just wish it wasn't so crowded lol. read more
