The food is good. We came here for breakfast and dinner. The breakfasts are filling, and the dinners are good. I had a sea bass for dinner, and that was good. My husband had a 12 oz ribeye, and that tasted better than the rib eye that cost us $100! The service was great and the coffee was good. I would recommend this place for sure. read more

At first I was thinking this place would be like a Denny's but I was wrong so I'm glad about that. The menu is massive and the prices are very wallet friendly. I got a grilled ham and cheese but I didn't know what to expect so when I got my Sammy I was very impressed it had a lot of ham plus lettuce and tomato. This place can't possibly get any better! The hotel and surroundings are beautiful and the staff are excellent. They are very focused on keeping a clean, safe environment and there are many staff around to help you with anything you might need. They serve food at the restaurants with all paper plates and utensils. The room was beautiful, the hotel staff were very nice and helpful. As far as gambling goes, I took my son there as he had just turned 21 years old and we had a blast! Couldn't ask for a nicer casino! read more

Food is alright; typical American and Mexican American style. Servers are friendly enough as they are busy constantly. I chose the cafe instead of the buffet cuz i dont wanna overeat. I ordered steak and eggs. Steak was medium rare but meat was a bit dry. Sunny side up eggs are just right. It also comes with TX toast and hash brown. Nothing special nor bad. Dinning lighting is on the less dim side, and seatings have ample space. You can actually see outside and the greeny hills behind the casino. read more

We ordered 3 different menu items. Steak bites from the appetizer menu were ok but some pieces were too rare for my husband. He wasn't asked how he wanted the steak cooked when ordering. Our friend ordered fajitas. They were cooked in Italian flavored tomato sauce, not good! I ordered Monterey Chicken which was chicken breast topped with ham, swiss cheese and avocado. Nowhere on the description did it mention Italian spiced tomato sauce yet it was pooled under the chicken and was an awful addition to the meal. The food here is ok. It looks good but it's just ok. It's affordable which is always good. They do offer a variety of foods which is nice. We were here on a Sunday they had a long line to have customers be seated. They had lots of tables but one of their busboys was just taking forever to clean tables. Once they sat us down we had a nice waiter. My husband ordered the ham & bacon omelette and I ordered the prime rib open face sandwich. The waiter said that this sandwich was good. Well it was ok the meat was overcooked and the gravy had a weird taste to it. Good thing is that I was using my birthday comps they sent me. My husband liked his omelette but said the hashbrowns tasted weird. The waiter also brought him some pico de gallo salsa. It was good but was a bit bland. All in all the food is mediocre. This place is super disgusting and disorganized. Some of the folks that work here care about their profession and service, others have nothing but utter contempt for your continued annoyance at asking them for simple things. We ordered a Reuben, a BLAT (bacon, lettuce, avocado, tomato) and chicken wings. Reuben was a greasy soggy mess. BLAT was filled with cold bacon, while the menu says "Crisp Bacon". When my gf ordered, she asked the waiteress twice on this. She said yes of course. We placed the order and waited. Wings came out and were salty as hell. They were a bit stingy with the celery (5 total pieces when we said we didnt want carrots and just wanted more celery when we ordered) so we asked for more, which she did give us. Then the rest of the food came out and we were immediately regretting it. The server came by to ask if everything was fine, and when we mentioned our concerns for the BLAT, she offered to remake it and took it back. When it came out again, the bacon was burned thoroughly, to where it was inedible. The sandwich bread was barely toasted. All in all, it was a major disappointment. So when the server asked again, we showed her and asked for our check. They left the BLAT on there, yet I figured it was our fault for asking them to correct it in the first place. I asked the server for a box for the leftovers while my gf went to the restroom. While I was waiting, I went up to pay for my meal, when I came back to the table I saw the bag and box, yet the food plates were gone. I figured the server packed it for us, yet when I went to pick it up, it was empty. Apparently while I got up to pay, they threw away my leftovers. I got super pissed and told the person at the front, who didnt even apologize. He didnt care. So I spoke to another server, a Latina lady, who was very sweet and nice and offered to remake everything. I said no, please just get me the wings. She came back in 10 minutes with a bag and I went on my way. When I got home, I was dismayed to find disgusting chicken tenders instead of wings, with EXTRA carrots to boot. A nice cafe restaurant inside the Pala Resort and Casino. They serve American breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as some Mexican food. We had... -TUNA SALAD SANDWICH on CROISSANT- I like it. It's simple yet delicious. Generous tuna and not too much mayo. I had ONION RINGS on the side and they were not fresh. You can tell it was frozen because it was mushy on the inside. Get the FRENCH FRIES instead. They are crispy and salted properly. -MUSHROOM SWISH BURGER - El hubby really liked it. It had lots of sauteed mushrooms. The meat was cooked perfectly to medium well. We ate lunch here this weekend, for about the 5th time overall. I ordered the Chicken Salad Croissant Sandwich, (with a side of fries) and my wife ordered the Caesar Salad Chicken Wrap, (with a side of onion rings). Overall, the fare here is pretty typical of any regular cafe and breakfast can be ordered any time of day. What I really want to comment on was our appetizer but I'll get to that later. And, as many other reviewers commented, the service was SLOW. Not the food service, just the time it took to be greeted at the table and have an order taken... My Chicken Salad Croissant Sandwich itself was really, really good. The croissant was extremely light, subliminally flakey and just a wee bit on the sweet side. The fries on the other hand, were just so/so at best. My wife's onion rings were really good but she said the Caesar Salad Chicken Wrap was "warm", which really threw her for a loop. BUT... She did say it was good, (though not great). The really bizarre thing about this visit was the appetizer. Since the wife and I had been playing for the better part of 24 hours straight, both of us were about to pass out if sustenence weren't found soon. So when we were finally greeted at the table, our first thought was to immediately get an appetizer. We ordered the chips and salsa, (with a side of guacamole), in the hopes it would arrive before we succumbed to hunger. Now here is the bizarre part... When the chips arrived, they were warm and soft, (quasi chewy), almost as if they were freshly made corn tortillas, cut into "triangles" and fried right then and there. The "issue" as it was is that they were soft and like I said, kind of chewey, almost "doughy". Not at all crispy and crunchy as one would expect. What's even more wacky about it all was that they were really, really good. I mean like ridiculously good. Problem is, I don't know if that was just an accident of birth or truly intentional!!! If I had been thinking, I would've saved myself the headache and just asked if that is the way they were supposed to be served... Dumb me. read more

Six large meatballs bathed in homemade Albondigas Soup were just delicious, and a BLTA on toasted sourdough with cool Potato Salad was packed with flavorful bacon and avocado slices to close a fine informal meal. Had one of the worst lunch [I have] ever* had. My fish in my fish tacos were either refried or fried for too long. It was hard to chew and swallow. But this wasn't the worst part of my lunch: it was our servers sly attempt at scamming us for additional gratuity $. The server gave me the check, had me check it over, then left with it. Moments later, she returned without the receipt, instead handed me 2 sign copies. I left 20% gratuity and signed the receipt. Then it dawned on me, we're 13 deep, gratuity should be included. Now where's my receipt!? After waiting what felt like forever, a different server hands me a copy of the receipt. *service charge was in fact charged Luckily I was able to void the signed copy. Wait was fairly short, especially for Father's Day. I decided to go with the fried halibut sandwich with onion rings and oh man, was it DELICIOUS. Lightly bartered fresh halibut with melted jack cheese, thinly slice red onions, shredded iceberg lettuce, thinly sliced tomato on an uber fresh bun... YUM! Also their homemade tartar sauce is soooo good! Tangy from dill, and less mayonnaisy....Unique in flavor and complimented the sandwich perfectly! Onion rings were delicious! Only ate one and shared the rest. Service was fast and friendly. My husband and daughter enjoyed their food as well. Hubs got the BLT Burger and my daughter for the Beefeater Sandwich (Sliced prime rib, jack cheese, and green chiles) My daughter went on and on about her sandwich. It looked fabulous. I'll also give the Casino itself, an honorable mention. Nice slot selection, easy navigation, and slots that keep you playing for a while. It's been soooo long since we have been here but it was a lot of fun and better than I remembered. What I do remember about my last visit was their buffet. Easily the best buffet I've had next to Viejas and the Orleans in Las Vegas. Well... that's all folks! No reason at all not to try this cafe. I truly love Pala! read more

We visited the Pala Casino today and had lunch at the Pala Cafe. I ordered the sliders with cheese, medium well with fries. The sliders came out well done and were too overcooked. The fries tasted stale, like they were sitting under a heat lamp for a little while. It was 11:45 am, so you would think at lunchtime the food would be fresh. My friend had a ruben sandwich with cole slaw. He said the ruben was good, not spectacular but good. The cole slaw didn't have enough dressing on it and he ate only 1 bite. Service - The waitress was very friendly and the food came out on time. We were pretty disappointed as there were other options for us. We should have tried the Deli or the Noodle Bar. Will I return? Pala Cafe is whatever. I only eat here because my mom likes having brunch at the casino. My first time here, I ordered a Turkey burger. It was decent; I could have made a better one at home and I don't even cook. The fries looked & tasted like something they bought at a grocery store in a frozen bag. Not exaggerating. I barely touched them. Today, we came for breakfast, so I decided to try something non-traditional (and healthy)-bagel & smoked salmon platter. My mom got eggs, sausage & hash browns. Again, my food was whatever. Probably one of the better plates on the menu though. Complaints: they don't offer healthy alternatives. I asked for low-fat cream cheese, they only had plain regular. No wheat bread option, only white. Not exactly the place for health-conscious people. Service is decent. Huge portions, but very overpriced. Don't expect much when you come here. read more

The french fries weren't that good though. It had that crinkly style form that you buy at the grocery store made by Ore Ida. When i come to Pala I usually eat here or at the deli across unless i have a free buffet coupon or comp. I usually get a burger or breakfast here french toast is yummy. The burgers are big and cooked well done unless you request otherwise. Last time i got the sliders which were actually pretty good. The deli across the way has a good footlong hot dog and I usually get a grilled cheese which is not on the menu basically they have grilled ham and cheese so i say no ham lol. read more

I ordered the bacon and eggs, toast and hash browns and wasn't too impressed with the food. All were lukewarm, neither hash browns and the four pieces of bacon was cooked and greasy. The next night which was after the finals of the competition, I joined four other young ladies for late night dinner, I this time ordered a dinner salad w/ bleu cheese dressing. This time was better experience with good portions of the salad and was decent w/ dressings on the side and was a decent price. Great place for just a staple breakfast, lunch or sit down dinner - diner type of restaurant. This review is for breakfast only. The Chicken fried steak was huge, period. It was flat, crispy and took over the plate. It had a nice texture of being not over breaded, but still maintaining flavor. Coupled with a waffle was a good balance of salty/crispy and sweet mushy. Service was prompt and just a good quality staple of food for a reasonable price. The meal was a little on the bland and over salted side, but no surprise from where we were. read more

1st time at Cafe, funny recipes here are better than bar meets grill. shrimp pasta had a nice colorfull look, great taste with garlic. Halibut had a fabulous beurr blanc sauce fullll of flavor. korean ribs are actually LEGIT, flamed with a nice char crust and they give you big portions. cobb salad is huge,only thing was ribeye was a cheap quality,very chewy. plastic forks n plates , oh well. overall the chef here put great care into the flavors of everything and tghey dont charge for silly things , BMG chefs need to study Cafe chef. read more

We visited the Pala Cafe inside the Pala Casino a couple weeks ago with friends and family. This place is super clean & spacious. The cafe has beautiful mountain views too. The service was very prompt & good. The food portions were big & the food was very good. We had the chili relleno, grilled cheese, Cesar salad and strawberry lemonade. By the way, the casino itself is beautiful & and there is a good variety of restaurants to choose from. read more
