Prosciutto & mozzarella
D.F. C.

While this sandwich admittedly was very expensive (over $20 with tax), it was definitely delicious. And it was a healthy/large serving size. The Panini bread with some of the best I've had in a long time... soft, yet crispy-ish on the outside. Everything about the sandwich was fantastic with one exception: there was a slightly fishy taste on some bites. Needless to say, with the only ingredients being fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, prosciutto, and arugula, not sure where the fishy taste came from. The shop is average looking. I did not eat the gelato, but it looked very good. Service was efficient, but not overly friendly or personable. Person at the counter was more of an order taker, but there were no social greetings exchanged. The bread was so good that I would definitely go back if I had a craving for an Italian sandwich.

I loved Pala Bakery! The food is very fresh and authentic. I got the prosciutto and mozzarella panini with some pesto on the side and it was amazing. The space is small and intimate and you can see everything being prepared in the kitchen. The employees were also super friendly. I'll have to try some dessert next time I'm there!

Went today with my wife and we split the ham panini, let me tell you. I have never been so sad that my wife and I split a sandwich more in my life. it was so good. the bread unbelievably good with a crunch. there are many sandwich options and pizza options. the pizza looked amazing too. this place is busy. self serve seating, great staff, great atmosphere. no substitutions which I like. I think they have a variety of bakery goods too but we were late for the most of those choices. Gelato too but we didn't try it. It's one of those places that you are already planning to come back to while you are eating. I wish it wasn't 50 miles from Monroe. :)

My expectations were set too high from social media. Pala is a part of the Antico "brand" family, and we love Antico Pizza, so I assumed I was going to love Pala. The concept of the shop is cute. Long story short, I was underwhelmed. The portion of meat and cheese for the price point is arguable. Because it was our first time, did not know that we should have asked for lighter toast. Bread was toasted almost cracker like. Because the portion of meat and mozzarella was minimal, there was not much flavor to compliment the arugula and tomato. Also ordered a muffuletta that my husband said was nothing special. Service was kind so there's that. Oh..we did also purchase a cronut that was sinfully delicious, ate too fast so no pic..get it warmed!

If you're looking for a place that is going to serve you food that is nearly identical to Italian sub and pizza (maybe even better) then THIS IS THE PLACE. Mind you, I recently came back from Italy just a few months ago and I absolutely loved my Italian panini. This place is VERY flavorful and has plenty of options that your taste buds will appreciate! They serve also serve pizzas, pastries and gelato which really brings you the full experience of an Italian shop. The only piece of feedback I'd give is the sandwich was slightly salty, however, it wasn't too slaty to where it was unbearable. But, definitely come hydrated in advance! This shop is located in the parking plaza so there was plenty of parking, however, the plaza can get a little busy at times. I can go on and say a lot about this place but I'll just say, this is your sign to go visit! Overall , clean establishment, great food, and great service!

I was very excited about trying the sandwiches here. I had seen several people on TikTok talk about how good they were. So I went with my mom. I will say the customer service was lacking. We walked inside and looked at the menu and the girl at the register. Just kind of stared at us. Didn't speak didn't offer any suggestions. We were looking at the menu for a little bit, so just try to figure out what we want. A big note that I saw is that you cannot do any substitutions. But you can do add-ons at an additional fee. I kinda hate that because there's certain things I just don't eat and would've liked to put on my sandwich instead of the thing I took off. So let's get down to the sandwiches. We got the mortadella which had the multi level meat, cheese, and pesto on it and the Firenze which had salami, cheese and Dijon mustard. Both sandwiches cost $15.45 each. I just knew the sandwich was gonna have so much meat on it because it's a $15 sandwich. I was very disappointed when we got our sandwiches to see how thin they were. Hardly any meat on it. It lacked maybe having some olive oil on the bread for moisture. Very dry I will say. The only thing that say, the mortadella sandwich for me is the pesto. The pesto was really good, but I did not like the Dijon mustard on the other sandwich. It just didn't seem to go well together. I definitely don't think I would come back. Wasn't worth the money for me and my overall experience just wasn't wonderful. Cute shopping side, but not enough to make me come back.

This place is a hidden gym. Amazing focaccia sandwiches and even better pizza. Oh and the sweet treats are delicious too.

The Mortadella. Delicious!

12/10 recommend! Best paninis in Atlanta, hands down. We tried Pala Bakery for the first time today and can't wait to go back! I ordered the Mortadella panini, soft yet crisp bread filled with mortadella (a delicious Italian bologna), pesto, and the creamiest ricotta I've ever had. My husband had the Italian Ham, layered with mustard ham, mozzarella, and tomato. Both were outstanding! Don't miss the cannoli, we had ours with chocolate chips, and it was the perfect choice. If you don't see them in the dessert case, ask -- they'll make them fresh to order. The bakery is in a shopping plaza with plenty of free parking. Inside, seating is limited, so we ordered to-go. The wait was about 10 minutes, which isn't bad at all. I loved being able to watch the prep area behind the counter, it felt like watching the magic happen. Service was friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was also clean.

I ran to Pala Bakery after a recent video on social media regarding their Italian sandwiches blew up! They are an Italian bakery specializing in desserts as well as sandwiches and pizzas! The outside looks very unsuspecting and it is rather small inside (a few tables here and there along with outside seating), but trust me this is a good eatery! The service was quick and friendly as well. I got the Prosciutto Panini but asked for the tomato and arugula on the side (I do not like vegetables that much, haha). The 18 month old aged prosciutto was savory and the mozzarella was fresh! I love getting bread service at Italian restaurants so being able to eat the prosciutto and mozzarella in sandwich form is amazing. The focaccia bread is so crispy and really makes the sandwich in my opinion. I think the panini would have tasted amazing if I added pesto to it, but I still really enjoyed it. I definitely would come back to try their other sandwiches and pizzas! I love the flavors of the Prosciutto Panini so I am certain that the other dishes would taste just as delicious too. I will say the panini was a bit expensive but it is large enough to serve two people.

Hungry Dog

Fantastic authentic Italian sandwich. Knocking off a star that they never said anything to someone quite obviously feeding their dog pieces of their sandwich from the table. Good looking dog. Not the place for that though.

We stopped by here after the history center down the road to check this place out and ended up just getting gelato The sandwiches look good in the pics but ~$20 each, I couldnt bring myself to do it So I got 2 scoops of gelato for us to share and it was a good serving size for 2 but it was $8.44 before tip so I'll probably stick with anticos although I'm glad I tried this one! It's denser than anticos, almost stretchy. It didn't come with a cookie like I saw in some pics. We liked the banana flavor - tasted like actual banana, not artificial flavoring but no banana pieces The cherry flavor was great but the cherry filling was kinda icy? My husband wondered if it was old because it was a weird texture difference between the dense gelato and icy filling. There was no one at the gelato counter so someone from the pizza side came to help me but service was quick They have a number of other pastries for sale as well but a bit more expensive than you'll see otp but likely just due to the area It's in a shopping center so there's plenty of parking but you may end up parking a few rows away Overall, it was good but one time is probably enough for me and I'd go to wowbooza or anticos next time

The Calabrian Pizza With Mozzarella, soppressata, tomato sauce, topped with Calabrian chilis and drizzled with honey. Was the absolute best pizza flavor combination that I've ever tried my whole group loved it. The Muffaletta Sandwich Packed An Incredible punch & The Mortadella Panini Was Perfect. Looking forward to dining there again. Friendly service in a cute & clean establishment.

OH MY WORD! The Mortadella Panini is one of the best sandwiches I may have ever had. The bread... fluffy and light with a crunchy crisp crust. The flavor was amazing (Eyes close and roll back in head). I can't wait to go back! Saw a feature on Instagram with the whole video thing. Thought, what the heck, I'll try it. Welp, the video did not lie.

Honestly, these are creamier than most store-bought ice cream tubs. it has a velvety nice smooth texture when you try to eat it. Yes they are still in rolls, but as soon as you put it on your tongue, it me melts like a real creamy ice cream. Friday Urban Picnics is run by the Atlanta Street Food Coalition, and held every last Friday of the month from March to October, 11-2pm. Location is the back of Sweet Auburn Curb Market. At today's picnic, I arrived around 11:45 and lucked out with finding a parking spot. Lines were very short too - but that all changed after 12. Good Food Truck and Yumbii were probably the most popular. Westside Creamery, The Pop Shop (or maybe it was The Pop Stop), and Black Tie BBQ were there, too. I think almost all items were under $10. Today I had Good Food's $5 Poodle which was to die for: French Toast hot dog bun, beef dog, apple maple slaw, ... and then they strongly encourage you to add maple syrup and spicy mustard. Whoa that was really yummy - messy to eat though and I had sticky fingers afterwards from the maple syrup but no complaints from me :) Next time I'm trying one of their savory cones filled w/ all kinds of goodies! The Indian rice crispy treat sounded intriguing, too (curry, coconut, and candied fennel seeds)! For dessert I had a $3 generous scoop of Westside Creamery's bourbon & bacon ice cream. Just a hint of bourbon flavor and surprisingly thick pieces of bacon throughout - honestly I was expecting bacon-infused flavor but my bad for expecting anything else but the real thing!! They had some great flavors to choose but I went with bourbon & bacon since the Westside guy said it was his favorite. I've already marked my calendar to make a field trip to the next several picnics b/c there are too many new things to try! Some tips: Bring cash. If you're lucky enough to find parking in the Sweet Auburn parking lot, it's free w/ validation - look for the table outside that validates tickets. Otherwise make a purchase inside to get parking validation. When I was driving back to work, I also found free parking available under the interstate - free for the first 90 minutes.
