I needed an auction purchase picked up, crated and sent to me. I provided them with all the information for a quote and was informed by - I guess the office clerk that the appropriate department would get back to me with a quote. That was 2.5 weeks ago and never heard back. I instead went with Edgewood Pak & Ship which was far superior. read more

They went above and beyond with carefully and properly preparing my package-- even the Fedex freight delivery driver was super impressed with the quality of packaging. They took care of any questions that came up! Very much appreciated. I recommend Pat Mail Pittsburgh to everyone. Auction purchase the auction house dropped off the items to the shipper a 13-in square box containing a 5-in glass bowl in a 3-in figure weighing less than 5 lb they charged me $127 to pack and ship cross country with FedEx. A similar package from another Auction House on the East Coast charged me $65 for a 20 lb box filled with metal snuff boxes. I won't be using the shipper ever again. read more

I used Pak Mail to pick up, pack, and ship a small art piece. They weren't the lowest quotation I received, but the quotation was still reasonable and their reviews were impressive. They did not disappoint. They were professional in their emails and on the phone. The piece was packed in bullet-proof fashion. Service was swift and they emailed me at each step in the process. read more

Package of artwork arrived well-packed and protected, fast shipping, will do business with this company again.

This was honestly a perfect experience for me. I used them for auction item shipping, and they were responsive throughout; gave an accurate estimate prior to me engaging them; shipped the item lightning fast; and the packing job was one of the best I've seen. (This was a ceramic item, so that mattered to me.) If you are using them for auction items, rest assured. They are the right choice. read more

When my mother passed away in October, 2017, I had several boxes worth of delicate heirlooms (bone china tea set, lamps, depression-era glassware), and 2 pieces of antique furniture that I needed to have packed and shipped because I didn't have enough time to do it myself. PakMail gave me a quote for everything, and arranged a time for pickup. They arrived when they said they would, were true to their quote, and every single item arrived in perfect condition because they did the packing job right. It wasn't cheap, but I wanted the job done right, and it was. Communications from both Elaina and Dan were courteous and timely. I would use them again in a heartbeat. read more

Had Pak Mail collect a large item (vintage stereo console) from a seller nearby, pack/crate and ship to New York City. They were fast, great communication and item arrived without damage sooner than expected. 100% home run. Rare. Thanks. read more

What a wonderful experience I had with this company. I had a problem with a custom furniture order that was shipped with the incorrect finish. Elaina, a superb customer service representative, immediately sent me a fair, detailed quote and made arrangements for her crew to pick up the heavy furniture within 48 hrs. The two young gentlemen who arrived were terrific- smart, courteous, kind and well trained. They wore masks and worked efficiently. They did a perfect job of wrapping and loading furniture onto their truck. I would highly recommend this company for all packing and shipping! read more

We used Pak Mail to help with a relocation of a college student to Pittsburgh - we had them act as a package receiver for furniture items ordered from a variety of online sellers, had them assemble one of the items, and had them deliver all items to the new home. Everything worked out extremely well - they were professional and courteous through all of the communication and preparation, their delivery guys arrived on time and were great. I would be happy to work with them again and recommend them without reservation. Thank you for the great service! read more

I found myself in an unusual situation -- I had 8 cartons of books I needed to ship to a warehouse, but the warehouse only accepted shipments that were on pallets. As it turns out, FedEx won't do palletizing for you, and UPS farms the work out at a pretty exorbitant premium. So, I had to go searching for a near-Pittsburgh freighter that would handle the palletizing and shipment for me on short notice. Pak Mail really came through for me. While the shipment was still somewhat costly for its relatively small size, it wasn't at all out of line with other companies that offer similar service. However, Pak Mail really excels in keep the customer updated with shipping, tracking, and quality-control follow-ups. Even once the shipment had arrived, they took the time to check in and make sure I was satisfied. If you have random freight shipping needs, I'd recommend these guys for sure. read more

Absolutely Fantastic! They coordinated and picked up a piece of Lab Equipment, boxed it up very well and freighted it to Denver. Equipment arrived yesterday and today they checked on status. Outstanding! Thanks, Mike read more

Pak Mail Pittsburgh is an amazing company. I bought art off an online auction from a gallery in Pittsburgh and without ever being in Pittsburgh in person, I was able to communicate successfully with Pak Mail and get my art professionally picked up, wrapped up and delivered to me with signature drop off. They were incredibly diligent in making all my requests and pricing questions happen. I had multiple correspondences with them over the phone and e-mail to ensure my package was safe and arriving in a specific window of time. I could not recommend Pak Mail more! read more

Mike and his team made an otherwise stressful move smooth and easy. I really can't begin to tell you how pleased I am with the level of service your company provided. The crate was unbelievably solid and was so impressive that the delivery driver was raving about its construction. When I opened the crate the level of care and attention to detail in the packaging of the cabinet was unparalleled. My cabinet travelled I would guess about 3000 miles and arrived intact without a scratch. To say that I am pleased with the professionalism of your company from the front office staff to the person who packaged my cabinet would be an understatement. Your company does great work at a good price and I appreciate your services. read more

I needed to ship a fragile, antique Japanese screen from Pittsburgh to Minneapolis. It's something that has been in my family for generations and I was nervous about moving it. The crew that came out to pick it up treated it with great care. It arrived in MN meticulously packed with foam sheets between each screen section and in a cushioned box they custom made to the exact size. It arrived in perfect condition. Communication throughout was excellent. Highly recommend! read more

It was gorgeous! A 1951 Seeburg 100B jukebox. Fully restored. So I bought it. Problem was how to get a fragile piece of equipment packed and shipped across the country? I found Pak Mail on Yelp with great reviews so I contacted them. They carefully packed it, put protective film on the glass surfaces, wrapped it, put cardboard around it, palletized it, and even put a pyramid sign on top with "Do Not Stack." It arrived in perfect condition. Plugged it in and Rocked Around the Clock. I figure if Pak Mail can ship something that specialized they can probably ship just about anything. Great job! read more

i am so VERY impressed with the service these guys offer! they are friendly, professional, and amazingly helpful. i had a number of pieces of furniture belonging to my grandma in pittsburgh that i wanted shipped to my home in vancouver, canada. after getting a number of other quotes, pak mail offered a way better rate. they are honest when they say 30-40% better, i'd say even more so. i spoke to anna on the phone, and later with mike, and they were always friendly and courteous. after i decided to go with them, they were prompt in picking up the items. they told me it would take about a week to get to canada, and they were bang on. when i received the items they had been EXPERTLY packed (there were some fragile marble table tops that i was worried about) and everything arrived as good as new! mike contacted me to make sure i had been called my customs to let me know it was in canada, and then emailed twice to follow up and make sure it was all good. i have never had a shipping company take so much time or care to insure you got great service, all at a VERY fair price, on time, in perfect condition, all with outstanding customer relations! i doubt i'll ever need to move anything from pittsburgh again :O( but i would not for a second hesitate to recommend them. in this day and age of impersonal, indifferent customer care and mediocre service, these guys really stand out. thank you so much for everything! read more

I am not a prolific Yelper but I occasionally will write a review, mostly when a business goes above and beyond what I expected. Pak Mail is one such business, starting with owner Michael's flexibility and sensitivity toward our situation (shipping deceased parents' belongings across the country.) The items -- including large paintings and other artwork -- arrived in Los Angeles from Pittsburgh very quickly and in perfect condition. Not so much as a scratch on anything. And, as I joked to Michael afterwards, I now have enough bubble wrap and styrofoam to recycle and use pretty much forever. Admittedly, I did not have time to do any comparison shopping, but the price seemed reasonable to me for the pick-up, packing, storage and delivery. Definitely a five-star experience -- the work itself and the quality people who did it. read more

For my one-year temporary work assignment out of state, I had too much stuff to take with me in the car (or even a U-Haul trailer) and not quite enough for the typical minimum imposed by interstate movers. So I tried Pak Mail. It really fit what I needed. Mike MacDonald, who is a consummate professional, took care of everything for me. I thought at first he would just be my contact and the person who does the scheduling, but he came himself with two other guys to do packing and to drive my stuff back to their facility. He called me promptly to report the weight and cost, and then he followed up by informing me when my shipment had left the departure depot and when it had arrived at the depot near my new address. As I was re-assembling various things in my new home, I had trouble finding a few parts. I called Mike, and he responded very promptly by reminding me how those parts were secured when they were packed. Then, I found that two small items had been damaged in the packing or the transport (hence, four stars instead of five). Not only did Mike agree to reimburse me for replacement value, but he did so without demanding receipts for proof of purchase. Admittedly, he probably did this because these were inexpensive items, but still it's a sign of professionalism. This is a reliable and professional operation that I'd recommend, especially if you are working with Mike MacDonald. The prices aren't cheap, but they aren't totally outrageous either. read more

They shipped a fragile item to me in CA. Arrived in perfect condition. I would highly recomend this excellent shipper

I used Pak Mail this summer to get the contents of my mother's condo from Pittsburgh to Boston. Mike the owner was very accommodating because I ended up with twice as much as I told Pak Mail. Pak Mail came back the next day to finish the job. Mike was also very accommodating because I was having work done on my basement in Boston so he stored the pallets for three months until my basement in Boston was ready to receive the pallets. I had lots of fragile items and all arrived safely. I highly recommend using Pak Mail! They were very professional! read more

I have used PAK MAIL in Pittsburgh twice so far and I will keep coming back. Ana has give me reasonable rates compared to other shipping companies. She reponds to my emails immediatly and is always proffesional. I live in Boston, MA and have valuable antiques mailed to me from all over the country. Trus t me you will NOT be dissapointed. ALso the packing was top notch, even if the Postal service or Fed ex toss my boxes around they are so secure there would be no chance of anything breaking. read more

I have now used PakMail twice. The first time was 18 months ago and again last month. Both times, they arrived on time for the scheduled pickup, promptly packed my boxes on pallets, and arranged for shipment to my address in FL using Fedex Ground. On both occasions, the shipments arrived as planned, no damage to anything that was shipped, including the several sets of china and boxes of crystal stemware. Not one item arrived broken. These people know what they are doing. read more

On two occasions, I had to ship a large number of freight across the country and even into Canada in one instance. Mike @ Pak Mail was a super big help, made my life so much easier by taking it on with ease. I just had to let him know what, when and where and the rest was history. We were even a little unorganized and did not have all of our stuff prepared properly for long haul travel, not a problem, Mike took care of it without hesitation. Our equipment was handled and received with great care and not once was I worried about anything. It all arrived on time as promised and he even aided by closely monitoring the shipment, regularly sending me updates without even being asked. I strongly recommend this business for any local or cross country shipping needs! read more
