I stepped in and saw the paint covered tables, a handful of artists working at easels and I had an internal content sigh. This is my speed! I circled the artwork twice and picked a gift for my son and chatted with a couple of the artist there, one even offered me a teaching gig when I said I used to teach painting classes! Too bad I live 2 1/2 hours away! I loved the energy here and they have some very talented artists and something for every taste- IMO. They even have smaller items like cards and magnets. Support your local artists! And if you're visiting- buy yourself a fabulous and memorable gift!

The price and value are great. Online registration is easy. I received notifications to remind me of the class prior to the date. Upon arrival, you sign in, grab the appropriate size gloves and sit in your assigned seat. Your box with all needed supplies is provided & ready for you. Bridget is positioned at the front of the class and there are monitors on each side that displays what she is doing. She gives step by step instructions, walks around to help assist and answers any questions asked. The instructions are easy and the art comes out unique and beautiful. Today, we brought our Mom to Crafted Scent Bar in Mt Dora for a Candle making experience to…read morecelebrate her birthday. This business has great reviews on other sights and we really really loved this. We decided to do this while we were at lunch and we booked the 3pm session. All 5 of us got to pick from a huge selection of scents and we were allowed to combine as many scents as we wanted to use. There are several selections we could choose from to make at different price points and we all chose the middle price point option to create 10 Oz candles (1 each). The owners were present to help guide us in choosing what scents may complement each other. We were given the glass jars that we chose along with a wick to stick into the jar. After smelling the different scent samples that we were interested in and made our selections, we wrote them down on a card. The owner then brought us each of the scents we chose in individual bottles. We were also given beakers and small scales. We were then instructed how much total weight in scent that we needed to blend. For example, I chose 3 scents to blend, so I started out adding a few drops of each scent into the beaker and judged how much more of each scent to add based upon the smell. The more I added, the better it smelled. I blended Orange Blossom, Plumeria and Gardenia together. Once we had the proper weight in scent mixed, we were each given a pitcher of melted wax and a stick. We were directed to pour all of or beaker of blended scents into the melted wax and stir. Once we had thoroughly mixed our scents into the wax, it was then time to pour the now scented wax into the selected candle jars. The owner then gave each of us a tool to help keep the wick straight in the candle jar while our candles solidified. While they were solidifying, we walked down the street into some of the other shops. We returned a little more than an hour later to pick up our mostly solidified candles to take home with us. You are welcome to bring your own drinks with you. The shop sells already made candles and scents, tshirts, candle and tart accessories etc. the owner and staff (her Mom) are wonderful and enjoyable to work with. Our family really enjoyed this whole experience and recommend this for your family, your work team, friend group, church group, etc. we will most likely do this again and will bring friends to experience this with. All 5 of us chose the same price level making a 10 Oz candle in a beautiful colored glass container with wood lids at ($42 each). Yes you can buy candles fir less money, yes you can choose a less expensive price point....we really enjoyed the experience and the end products we created in their beautiful colored glass jars...and most importantly Mom enjoyed this as a Happy Birthday activity with her two adult kids and our husbands. I chose to make a reed diffuser while my husband selected a wick-less candle. The process was easy and fun, and time just flew by. We truly enjoyed the experience, and are already planning on coming back with friends for another class. When making a candle give yourself some extra time, so it can cool and set. We went for a delicious lunch, and everything was ready and nicely packed up by the time we returned.

We came here for an open house, which included food, drinks, entertainment and plenty of hands-on…read morecrafts. We toured the facilities, the workshops, we actually sat down for some demos from the visual arts department, and then gathered around a kiln for a raku ceramics demo, which was ideal on a cold winter afternoon (winter in Florida?). Also, we were able to visit the gallery, which was hosting a photograph exhibit on the history of turn of the century Lake Apopka, about 40 miles away due West, and that was very interesting and enlightening. We also printed a poster, among other things. Personally, I think it was fun to talk/meet some of the faculty, not that I am immediately looking for a new teacher, but it is good to pick one who has some similarities, or none at all. Challenge yourself. After this visit, I will consider taking some classes here. Or come to more events. I really like Crealdé.

I called today (9 days before the first day) and I was told that it was too late and the last day was Yesterday (10/09/23) (10 days before first session). I pointed out the policy and was told that "session" didn't mean class and it was incorrect so I couldn't get my money back. This is fraudulent. I will be contacting the correct state department for this. This is extremely unprofessional and clearly lacks clarity. If your policy is outdated, correct it on the website. For Christmas we like to do family experiences. Picasso's Palette was what we found to celebrate in…read moreOcala. It was so surprisingly fun and relaxing. I called about 3 weeks in advance to book a private party in their small room. There were 12 of us (7 adults and 5 children). When I called to book I spoke with Anna who was super helpful in answering all of my questions. She was also our guide the day of the party. We were able to bring in our own food and drinks for the party. I will note that the party room does not have a ton of extra space if you have a larger party. There is a counter that can be used. Once our whole party arrived Anna gave instructions on what price point to stay within (pre arranged) and sent us off on our own to choose which ceramic we wanted. Then she instructed us to pick which colors we would like. You start with 4 and can add more as needed. Then we got to work. Our whole group was engaged in their project. We laughed and had a wonderful time. Once we were finished she collected our ceramics to store until they were put in the Kiln. The wait time was about 2 weeks. I would recommend for all ages and group sized.
