We had only done archery one time before and that was at Disney's Fort Wilderness, which was with a group of 10 other people, outside in the hot sun, and with one instructor for everyone. That was fun, but not individualized and very fast learning and probably not the best either. When we told our friends, they recommended this place since they've been coming here for a couple months, so we decided to book an intro session while they booked an hour for themselves. The place is small but honestly, it was better that way, didn't have to worry about 20 people all over the place. There's a gym in the back too. We were first shown around the whole place and then everything was explained to us. We were given arm guards and finger guards to use, along with the bows and arrows. We had a whole hour of shooting time and we had an instructor that stayed nearby the whole time working very closely to encourage us, give pointers, let us know what was working or not working, add some incentives, and throw in some games. I'll be honest, I was struggling a lot at first, but with lots of tips from our instructor, and his kind and soft spoken guidance I eventually got a lot better and actually won our little couples game!

I haven't done archery in a minute, so our friend suggested we come here! It was such a great experience, and I think I personally got better from the beginning to the very end. I obviously need more practice but they do have people who help you fix your form. They do have packages where you can graduate up and up where you can even make your own arrow and get to the point you can do tournaments even! If I lived in Orlando, I'd definitely come back here to do the packages. It definitely helped with the rain problems we've been having while visiting.

I have driven past this place everyday for over a year now, and wanted to check it out. It's located inside the Signature Fitness building, so it's easy to miss if you're not paying attention. We had a bachelor party coming up for one of my best friends, so I stopped in to ask about a group lesson. I got to chat with Randy, the owner, who set everything up for me. He communicated through text and it was easy to manage. They can also send invoices through email to pay ahead of time for group sessions. I just paid him on the spot at our lesson today and it was no problem. Inside, it is a pretty intense gym, and there are also five lanes for archery. Randy gives personalized instructions and takes you step-by-step through it, so even if you are brand new to archery it doesn't matter. This was a smashing success for our bachelor party event. All the guys had a great time, we learned a lot about archery, and the best part... We got to shoot stuff with arrows! Hahaha He does offer archery classes as well if you want to do formal training. He uses a 10-step teaching process, so the first 10 lessons are $40 each. $400 gets you Through the basics, and then after that they can guide you as far as purchasing your own equipment if you choose to, or even to continue on with more intensive training. As I mentioned before, this is inside the Signature Fitness gym, but she is also an owner of. They do offer personal training as well as group classes. They are very willing to work with you to find what works for your schedule. at a glance, I saw multiple free weights and cable based machines. They also have heavy ropes for training, and four or five punching bags. The only downside is, this isn't a place you can go to after work. They start their day at 4:30 in the morning, so they're wrapping up by around 5:00 every afternoon. This place is slammed every morning when I drive past though, so they must be doing something right with the gym. If you are looking for a personalized gym in the area, and especially if you're looking for somewhere fun to do archery, I highly recommend this place. I can't wait to go back and learn more!

The variety of the…read moregaming rooms and the games without them, and the format of quick 1-3 minute games, is absolutely perfect. I love the mix of high-cardio and calm strategy games. It is absolutely perfect for an outing with my wife or friends. I've even gone with my coworkers, the only time I see them outside of work. It is an absolute must-do as often as I can. My only two critiques: 1) they don't allow solo reservations. You need to have at least two people in order to play. If they allowed me to play when I can't find a partner to play with, I'd probably play 3x as often 2) at Pointe Orlando they don't validate parking. That extra $8-13 to park my car here for an hour or two *really* hurts, and more than one friend has told me that additional fee is what's stopping them from coming more often. So may businesses at Pointe validate, it's a little crazy that Activate doesn't.

I used to volunteer a lot, then got out of it as I got older, and was happy to have volunteering put in the forefront of the news with Disney. I knew the volume of people signing up for events, and was pleasantly surprised when I painted a house with Hands On Orlando. The day consisted of painting four houses, with 100 volunteer expected. The HOO coordinator was very organized, arrived early and was very friendly. There was a HOO coordinator for each house, and one who monitored the whole project. They were very clear in their directions, and made a very humid day painting a house in not a great neighbor hood a great experience. Being an annual passholder for Disney, I wasn't worried about the processing time for the receipt of the Disney voucher, and yet it was in my email by Tuesday. Its kind of sad, the coordinator said that the month before, for the same event they had only twenty volunteers, and now all their events are full. While we appreciate all the Disney is doing to help communities, I sure wish more people would volunteer without having to be bribed, and I can't wait til we do it again!

I was also a captain for Hands on Nashville Day, where we painted and spruced up a local high school, and even helped out at the animal shelter a few times. When I moved back to O-town I was super excited to find a local Hands On chapter. There is truly something for everyone here. Whether you like to work with your hands and get dirty, or just sit and hang out with some at-risk kids, or play with the puppies and kitties at the local shelter, Hands on Orlando has a huge network of opportunities, linking you with others who share your passions and organizations that run on the support of volunteers. To sing up, they keep things super simple. Log on to www.handsonorlando.com, create an account, then click on the calendar, and click on the event you wish to volunteer for. A quick sign up and print off of the waiver (or your coordinator can give you one at the time of the event), and you are good to go! The volunteer coordinators are super fun and work well with the organizations to ensure a smooth-flowing but fun volunteer experience. Since I've been back in Orlando, I have had the pleasure of volunteering with Coalition for the Homeless, Clean the World, and even the City of Casselberry through Hands on Orlando. This is a great way to get to know all the awesome local groups that take care of our community. I encourage everyone to find at least one Saturday morning a month to give back in 2015!

The space was clean and organized, and I appreciated that they had everything ready to go when I arrived. They give you protective gear (which you definitely need!) and you "gear up" before walking in by wearing a mesh suit, hair net and cover your shoes too but you can take them off and just slide on their "socks" they give you . Once you're in there, it's just a blast--literally throwing paint on the canvas, the walls, and maybe a little on yourself too. It's messy in the best way, and weirdly therapeutic. You can also use their Alexa to play music of your choice and make it a fun vibe and have your own mini party. I really liked that you get to take home your canvas afterward, it's such a cool keepsake. You wait 24 hours to come back and once it is fully dry you can take it home. It's not something I'd do all the time, but for a creative, out-of-the-box experience, it's totally worth it. Highly recommend if you're looking for something playful and a little different to do in Gainesville. I love that they have so many options such as acrylic projects, string projects, painted glasses and other DYI experiences. You can set an appointment and come in at your reserved a lot. I'll 100% be coming back and already want to try one of their other DIY experiences!

One of them happened to be the mess fest that was going on this past weekend. So we decided to head out to Orlando and let me tell you it was so much fun!! They transformed one of their rooms into a fun place for the kids to get messy. You were catapulting scrunchie balls covered in paint onto a canvas sheet. There was another area where they were doing little bottle rockets with paint and Alka-Seltzer. That my kids absolutely LOVED. They also had scribble bots, a raffle painting for canvas paintings but that's not all because they had other stuff going on different floors. We got to make our own slime and we even got to go outside and watch them use liquid nitrogen to cause a bubbly explosion that the kids got to play afterwards. This was a 10 out of 10 experience.
