These guys are awesome!!!! Wish I could give more than 5 stars! I'd give them 100 if I could! We recently had our house painted both exterior and some interior done by Painting Today. They did an excellent job!!!!!!!! They were: 1) Super Thorough-made sure every spot that needed covering were covered. Even the fine little details they touched up with a brush. High pride in their workmanship! We have a copper pipe running down our house. We did not want it painted and there was not a drop of paint on it. I have no idea how they were able to be so thorough! 2) Super Clean-made sure things that might get over spray or splashed were covered with plastic sheeting. They even covered our pool! They masked off things that could not be removed. No extra marks or over spray anywhere....period! 3) Super Polite-all the gentlemen working for this company were friendly, respectful, caring and polite! 4) Super Timely-they showed up every morning when they say they would. They were super efficient!! In 4 days our house inside and outside were perfectly painted!! These guys are awesome!! I wish I had more houses for them to paint that's how good they are! I chose Painter Friend to paint my loft on Santana Row. Prior to choosing a painter I met with them, Spectrum Bay Painting, Marcus Henderson Painting, and McCleary Painting. I ended up choosing them because their bid was the lowest, they were friendly, and seemed eager for my business. Judy checked in with me once a week throughout the month that passed between getting the quote and getting the keys to my place. Her and the lead painter were very patient and answered all my concerns before we scheduled the job. I really liked that they were up with the times and were able to communicate over e-mail instead of phone. I should note that I got the keys on Friday and the painters started on Saturday at 8am - literally 12 hours notice! These guys are very flexible. There are some areas that don't look right, probably because of poor drywall patch jobs done by others. There is also some chipping, and a few spots that have a small amount of paint run. I'm not sure if that's due to poor quality paint (I used Kelly Moore) or an inadequate prep job. Aside from that they did a great job, especially cutting in the lines that meet the other walls. I should mention that an issue arose after the job was completed and paid for. I e-mailed Judy about my concern and they addressed it immediately. This company really cares about their customers and has outstanding customer service. I will definitely be a repeat customer and will not hesitate to recommend them to others. read more

He is very knowledgable and evidently very experienced and gave me a few suggestions on the types/colors of paint. Their admin Nan, was also extremely helpful in helping us schedule (and move around) the date of service. He completed the job in one day (3 bedrooms, 1 living room, 1 kitchen/dining room, hallway). We received three bids to have our house painted and decided to choose Painter Friend due to Hak's professionalism and very competitive pricing. We are SOOO happy that we did! Hak's crew, Chun, Martin and another gentleman started work this past Wednesday and finished today, Friday. Exemplary, kind, and courteous service from beginning to end. After my initial phone inquiry, they scheduled an estimate within the next 2 days. Following his visit, Mr. Han emailed me a bid within a few hours and they scheduled painting 2 days later. I was surprised and impressed with how quickly they set everything up. The job was to paint the great room, kitchen, and family room. Though we didn't ask, they offered to touch up the baseboards too. When we got home, not only were the 3 rooms painted beautifully (without a miss anywhere), all baseboards were freshly painted, and every single nail hole had also been patched and textured. Pleasantly surprised did not begin to cover how I felt. Mr. Han's company came highly recommended by one of my neighbors who used them to paint both of her houses. Their pricing was competitive and they did such a nice job on the house next door that I decided to hire them to paint both my house and my mom's. They were always on time, professional, extremely neat in their work, and finished both houses ahead of schedule. They left the yards neater than they were before they started. Working with Nan, the office manager, via e-mail was a breeze, as well. My neighbor on the other side hired a different painter to do their house the week after mine was finished and they haven't had such a good experience. Their painter took three times as long to paint essentially the same house, had areas they missed, got yellow paint overspray on their gray roof, and left their yard a mess, not even reattaching the screen on the sliding glass door. We originally found Hak almost 2 years ago through the good reviews on Yelp, and after getting several quotes to repaint the entire exterior of our house, we found his quote to be very competitive, and decided to schedule the work with his company, Painter Friend. Painter Friend painted my entire house including kitchen cabinets, ceilings, closets and walls. They do great work and the paint job looks fantastic!! They charged a very reasonable rate and finished the job in 3 days. I was also incredibly impressed with their customer service. When Mr. Kim was informed that the painters accidentally left stains on the carpet and broke a few blinds, he immediately offered to pay to have the blinds replaced and the carpet professionally cleaned. I got referred to Han through my cousin. Han was very professional and fast. He initially quoted me about 3-4 days to paint my home and he was available 2 days after we had talked. It turns out, Han and his team only needed 2 days to paint my entire home! That was great and very helpful as I didn't want to have it stretched out so I can live in my home with less interruptions. At the end of the 2nd day, where I saw touch-up was needed, I let him know and his team took care of it. In addition, there was a light that got moved during the painting process, so I called him a day after the painting was done; He returned to my house that same day and adjusted the light. I hired Painting Today to paint the outside of my house in March, 2016. The house had not been painted in 18 years and so, had large sections of peeling paint. The bid was competitive with other bids I received Han and his crew showed up exactly as they stated and the work was completed on time. Painter Friend painted my kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanity, and the whole process went smoothly, from estimate to completion. Their estimate was exactly half of my first estimate from a general contractor. And, Hak was willing to take off 20% by letting me be the one to remove and reattach the cabinet hinges! On time, reliable, flexible, considerate, kept the place clean, good results. The only unexpected thing was that there was no walkthrough at the end. When they were done, they said they were leaving. So, there was a little bit of cleanup on my part (a few hanging chads of dried paint, a few missed pieces of masking tape, a few errant brushstrokes on the bathtub, microwave, etc.). read more

My dad recommended him to us... Mr. Kim did a fantastic job painting the interior of our new home! At first I was a little disappointed at the colors I picked out (they turned out to be a lot more like white than I thought)... by the way, keep in mind that paint looks a LOT lighter on the walls than they do on those small samples.... but when Mr. Kim was done, he also recommended some "accent" walls with some darker colors for each of the rooms (dining room, living room, and our main bedroom). I went with his recommendations and they turned out to be so beautiful! They really brought the other colors out too, for the other walls he did. He also did the work so quickly (it took 2 days, thought it would have been only one if I knew about the accent walls the day before). I read the excellent reviews for Painter Friend, and called Hak Kim for an estimate. When I told a friend at my office that I was having the interior of my townhouse painted, she said, "You have to call my painter, too. He's reasonable, and does a wonderful, careful job." Reluctantly, I said "OK, what's his name?" ...and she answered, "Hak Kim, Painter Friend." I was sold! His estimate was reasonable, although the job involved removing wallpaper and retexturing in one room, and power washing my patio. His crew arrived promptly at 8:00 am on the appointed day. They protected everything, and were done by 2:30 of the second day. We did a walk-through and they quickly took care of a couple of very minor things. A great experience!! read more

Reasonable rates, friendly and knowledgeable = trustworthy. I hired Mr. Kim to paint half of my duplex, he quoted a reasonable amount and seemed to be confident of completion time and quality. The other half was being "completed" by another team, who took longer, and had already cost more. His team also removed wallpaper in a day, that my other crew said would take days to remove. In the end, I fired the other crew, and had Mr. Kim and his guys complete, touch-up, (and fix) the remainder of the other unit... which he completed on-time and for a very reasonable price. I'm at the point where I'd trust Mr. Kim's word and recommendations more than quite a few other folks. Note: when the post-construction cleaners came around, Mr. Kim corrected them when they complained they couldn't clean some of the paint (dripped by the other team). Had Painting Today paint the exterior of our house about a month ago. I emailed them about getting a quote and they called me the next day. Han came out and gave me a competitive quote. I got quotes from 3 other companies and got a pretty wide price range. Painting today had good communication and so I ultimately went with them. They continued the communication up until I was finally able to schedule a painting day, based on when we could get a new roof put on. They were flexible and even asked to move up the date. I think it might have been because rain was scheduled to arrive during the original dates. Painting was done to satisfaction in the course of 3 days. They left a can of each color in case of touch-ups needed. Would recommend and use them again in the future. read more

I originally found Painter Friend on Yelp, and the reviews were spot on. From a customer service standpoint, I am not sure how a company could get much better. From the estimate, to the final punch walk, Painter friend was cordial and available for my project. I contracted with Painter Friend to paint an apartment complex, and on the last day of the job I just felt that something didn't look right. Long story short, I requested that alot of additional trim pieces needed to be painted the trim color as opposed to the body color. Painter Friend obliged without complaining, or issuing a change order. Sure enough that was what was wrong, and once they did that extra work the final product looked as I had envisioned it. read more

I had Painter Friend painted my whole house interior based on the numerous 5 stars reviews on YELP! However, I was totally disappointed. The painters did what appeared to be a good job at first, but with closed-up inspection, the paint job was very poorly done. I believed they cut corners and was trying to save paint. I've requested that all the bathrooms and kitchen be painted in semi-gloss with mildew additive, but they were painted in Eggshell and no mildew additive. They came back to re-do the bathrooms and kitchen only after I discovered that they were not right. After we moved in, we discovered that the toilet in the 1/2 bath was clogged up. We called the plumber and shockingly discovered that there was a painter's spray gun cap flushed down the toilet. It costs us $150 to have the thing removed from the toilet. Also, in the same 1/2 bath, one side of the door was painted only in one primer coat. My husband and decided to re-paint the door ourselves, because we have completely lost faith in their painting service. I gave one star for Mr. Kim's customer service demeanor, but zero star for his painters' paint job. read more

I hired Painter Friend to remove acoustic ceiling, texture ceiling, varnish doors/cabinets and paint a 1 bdrm condo. Overall I was very disappointed and would not recommend or use them again. I found prep work - patch and masking of areas not to be painted - lacking in many areas. While I expect there will always be some paint overlap on any paint job, the number of areas where this occurred shows very poor quality work on their part. Fixtures/parts that were removed for painting were not replaced or reassembled correctly. Again, this shows me an inattention to detail/quality. They also spilled a large amount of water on the floor while doing their prep work. Rather than clean it up or at least tell me about it, they just left it there. 3 YEARS ON: Fushia board and front door have cracked!!! This is because his men did not prep the wood prior to painting. Also the same result with the window trims. Additionally, they missed a couple of sections indoors on the ceiling. I called Hak but he could not be bothered coming out to fix the issue. Going with a 'Professional' painting company to paint entire trims, fushia board and garage door again. I contacted this company for an estimate for interior painting and crown molding in my home. The guy came and said he did not know about the molding. He said they work with a guy that does molding and he would come by later to take measurements and give me a quote. This was kind of a waste of my time since I thought the same company would be able to do the molding (when I asked them on the phone if they do molding, they said yes). Either way, I said it was OK. So the painting guy saw the house and said he would send me a quote for the paint job. A while later, the molding guy shows up and takes his measurements (he took almost an hour taking measurements) and says he will get back to me via email with a quote. Well it's been over a week now and the molding guy never got back to me. The painter guy got back to me with a quote in the meantime and I emailed him back asking why I didn't get a quote from the molding guy. The painter guy never responded to the email. On top of all that, it's weird because I don't know which company is which. I called Painter Friend, Inc initially and they later told me that they changed their name to Painting Today. I have no idea why, but maybe it's because they have some questionable reviews on the Yelp page for Painter Friend?? I don't know how well they paint, but from the looks of how disorganized and shady they seem, I don't think I trust them enough to find out. read more

We needed our 2/2 painted. Got an estimate, which was very reasonable, and was quoted 1-1.5 days to complete the project. They arrived 10 minutes early and got to work RIGHT AWAY.
