Ken, Chris and team have worked at my townhouse rental for years now. They completely re-made and painted the cabinets 5 years ago and despite the place being a rental - cabinets and paint still look great! This year they rebuilt the decks and they're terrific. I highly recommend!! read more

Excellent work; very responsive to requested adjustments; superb painting team; work started as scheduled and completed quickly.

I couldn't be happier with the job Painting By Ken did on my kitchen cabinets! WOW, they look amazing! From start to finish, the entire process was professional, organized, and exceeded my expectations. The team was punctual, respectful of my home, and clearly takes pride in their work. The attention to detail was incredible every cabinet was carefully prepped, painted, and finished to perfection. The final result completely transformed my kitchen. The cabinets look awesome! Another thing I really appreciated was the pricing. The cost was very fair and competitive, especially considering the high quality of the work. It was great to find a company that delivers excellent craftsmanship at a good price. They also kept everything clean throughout the project and made sure I was completely satisfied before wrapping up. I highly recommend Painting By Ken to anyone looking to have their cabinets painted. If you want quality work, fair pricing, and a team that truly cares about the final result, you won't be disappointed! read more

I had dry rot around a window and several other places on the exterior of my home. Painting by Ken was recommended to me by a neighbor. Their work was outstanding to remove dry rot then to fix areas that had dry rot removed and to paint. They also painted trim around other windows and doors. I thought their pricing was reasonable and have recommended them to other people. I give them 5 stars. read more

Absolutely SUPURB This company goes the extra mile to guarantee customer satisfaction. After an initial agreement on a color choice and once sampled on the house, I wasn't pleased. Chris authorized six different color samples to arrive without any additional costs until I made my final choice. Not only are we pleased with the outcome, a few neighbors asked for the contact info. So I guess it's safe to say, they are please too and an improvement to the neighborhood. Friendly, efficient, professional and reasonably priced. 100% would refer This company get my 5 stars BTW the stairs were not included in this bid because needs repair read more

Painting By Ken - Painters Near Me - Walnut Creek, California

We had Ken and his crew come in and make expensive repairs to get our property ready to sell. The plan was to make everything perfect and turnkey and mission acomplished! Ken came in and as the pro he is spotted things that needed attention that we totally missed. They came in on time and on budget and we could not be happier. read more

I've left many messages to this business since I wanted the interior of my home painted. I never received a call back so I gave up. The lack of communication and disrespect to return a call was frustrating and delayed my project. read more

We are now a month past the completion of our home's interior being painted by Ken's crew, led by project manager Victor, and we have been and continue to be totally satisfied with everything that was done! Also, we feel the pricing was very competitive and that we got a good value for the money! From having Ken out to start the bid process which included a discussion of colors and paint finishes to be used, thru the prep work and actual painting, and on to a bit of follow up work after the main job was done, we think Javier, Jose, and Martin did an excellent job, and we definitely recommend them. In addition to the painting, we had them do some minor electric work: installing new outlets, changing some existing outlets from 2 prong to 3 prong, and the installation of some new lighting fixtures. They brought their A game to that, too. read more

Super impressed by Ken and his team. Getting my house ready to sell and painting the entire interior. The crew as showed up on time each day and they work their tails off. The quality and attention to detail is great. I also have a few "section 1" issues that need to be addressed and as a licensed contractor, Ken and his team are addressing those too. I'm adding some additional things I want done and they are really good about the changes. read more

Chris and his team recently remodeled my parents older house in Pleasant Hill. The end results were perfect and helped to close the sale of the house for over asking price. Appreciate Chris's responsiveness to emergency repairs, calls, texts or other similar issues. Highly recommended. read more

We would highly recommend Painting By Ken! They painted the exterior of our home and some trim work inside. Ken is extremely knowledgeable and readily offers his ideas about paint colors and trim options to match those colors. I was a bit undecided about a house color. After talking it over and finding out exactly what I was looking for, he customized the perfect color for our exterior. I didn't hesitate allowing him to pick the perfect trim colors to match also. The crew that worked on our home was top notch and followed all Covid protocols. They were very courteous and timely. Chris was fantastic to work with for the final details and walk through. read more

I had a wonderful experience working with Ken, his son Chris and their crew. They were proactive in making sure the work they did met high standards, were extremely responsive and always professional. I highly recommend using them for any paint job. Our house looks brand new from the great exterior job including some amazing carpentry skills and great color suggestions. We are also very happy with the interior book shelves they painted, which turned out to be a much more complex job than thought. All and all they are top notch, honest and extremely trustworthy. Hard to find contractors these days that are so easy to work with, PaintIng by Ken exceeding our expectations and we definitely will use them again. read more

I just had my house painted by Painting by Ken and they did a fantastic job. They were recommended by two independent people that I know and both recommended them highly. Chris and his father Ken were professional and had a terrific crew. I was especially impressed with the all the prep work they did and the outstanding job their crew did to replace some of the dry rotted boards. Having painted houses myself while I was in college, I was impressed with their constant communication during the job, their daily clean-up, and most importantly the end result. 5 stars from me. read more

Just had both interior and exterior of my home painted by these guys and can't say enough good things about them. They not only met my deadline, they were within my budget. Not the cheapest but I'm very impressed to their attention to details and willingness to work with the home owners to make sure we were satisfied at the end. Thank Chris and crew. Great job. read more

Chris and Ken provided an accurate and timely quote for painting the inside of my rental unit. Between bid and completion of job was 7 days. I would highly recommend Painting by Ken for repainting a rental unit, but also for a home. The painters were professional, thoughtful, careful and quick. What more can I say? read more

We had our house exterior painted by Ken and troupe. He did a great job selling his services and focus on quality. Had a major confusion with exterior color that was not completely their fault but he could have realized sooner the color was wrong. Anyways that is not the reason for giving them a 2 star review. Real reason is Ken talked us into getting our Anderson doors painted. He said that he knows how to paint them correctly so the paint would stick. Guess what after the first rain last winter the outdoor paint on the Anderson door started peeling. We called Ken and he assured us that after the rainy season is over he would fix it. This was in March. Since then we have called a dozen times, left voice messages, send text messages but to no avail. He has not returned our calls. Our conclusion is this is a company that does not stand behind the promises it makes. Very disappointing. read more

Ken and Chris did a great job on our interior house painting! We were up against a tight time frame to get our painting done before our move in date. Ken was able to come out right away to give us a quote and his pricing was very competitive. His knowledge and experience he shared during the walk through sealed the deal for me. He was able to get a crew out very quickly and they got the job done within a week As promised. The team did a great job prepping the walls (were some cracks before but aren't there now) and Ken's recommendation on a shade of white was perfect. Will definitely be using Ken and Chris in the future! read more

Ken painted my home's interior walls on short notice. First we started off with an estimate, and Ken was on-time. He provided a written estimate, and his availability to get his crew started. Ken provided good advice about the colors and the sheen to use, and his crew got the work done on-time. Afterward, we needed some touch-up in a few areas and Ken sent one of his crew members out to get it fixed. Excellent work, and very happy that everything was done on-time & exactly as described in his estimate! read more

We had the pleasure of working with Ken on 2 houses, and are now on our 3rd project with him and his team. Ken is the owner, and comes to give you a quote. His team of painters, who have been with him for almost 10 years, then come over to the house to execute. For our first home, we needed to get it on the market ASAP. Ken came over, and knew exactly what colors the house needed, since he works with so many realtors. He was spot on- the house looked great. For the second home, he was just as good as picking colors. I had hired an interior decorator, and he picked the exact same colors as she did, but in 10 minutes!! She spent (and charged us) for an hour to pick the same colors. I was just as pleased with the work of his team. We had several different textures in the house, and Ken knew exactly what primer each area needed. Susi F.'s review seems quite unfair, since Ken did help her and also gave all of her money back. It doesn't sound like his team at all, to be so careless. I stayed home the entire time to make sure everything was done correctly, and it was. They prepped the areas like experts, carefully covering our belongings. They are amazing "cutters", cutting a straight line into corners without hesitation. They covered the floors, but I barely saw a speck on the papers. They were professional - courteous, and respectful of my questions. They even brought their own microwave to use during lunch! I also had some touch ups to do, and Ken sent his team back, no questions asked. I will be using Ken's services for our 3rd project, and highly recommend him to anyone who needs anything painted. He is the nicest guy, he has over 35 years experience, and his team is easy to work with. Its a no-brainer. read more

We are very happy with Ken, Chris, and their painting team! We interviewed several companies and Ken's stood out as professional, experienced, reliable, and high quality. He worked within our very tight schedule, was out to our job site every day to touch base with us and his crew, and his crew did a good job with the final touch-up tasks. They even replaced a light fixture that fell down after covering and taping. We would use them again. read more

We hired Painting by Ken at the suggestion of our Real Estate agent and we couldn't have asked for a better company or results. Chris did the estimate and work on our tight timeline. His crew worked on our new (new to us) house while we were on vacation. A few spots were missed and he sent a painter over immediately to fix those and everything looks great! Chris is a pleasure to work with and my husband and I look forward to working with him and his crew in the near future. This is a first-class company! read more

Super easy to work with, professional, well priced, experienced - these guys even worked around us moving in on a Saturday. They did a great job, came back to inspect and worked with our dry wall folks to make sure everything was done properly/seamlessly. Hired Ken to paint our house and stain a new t-arbor. No real complaints about the house paint. More attention could have been given to caulking. The problem comes in with the care taken when staining the t-arbor. We just had a new fire pit built with flagstone top and surrounded by flagstone right next to the t-arbor. After they finished staining the t-arbor, I noticed over spray and splatter of stain on the flagstone. The flagstone of course just soaks it up and turns into dark spots. It has now been over 2 months since completing the job. They apparently came out once to try to clean the flagstone (I wasn't here), but it can't be cleaned. Last correspondence was over 7 weeks ago and I've heard nothing further even though he had last promised he was still working on a solution. At this point, I have to assume he's done with it. I unfortunately paid in full even knowing of the problem. Now just hoping that the stains on the flagstone will eventually fade. Having said all of the above, Ken was friendly to deal with through the initial process and the couple times we have talked. His son came to pick up the final payment and was equally friendly and did some additional caulking that the guys had missed. It's an unfortunate case of his careless workers. read more

Ken and crew painted interior and exterior of house I was selling in Lafayette. My realtor recommended that I use Painting By Ken to paint my 1700 square foot townhouse. Ken, Chris and the team did a great job, on time and on budget. They painted the interior as well as the exterior. We just purchase this house, exterior was pretty weathered. Ken, Chris and their team were incredible!!! I was on a tight schedule to sell my house and buy a smaller place. Received multiple bids to prepare my house for sale. Ken's bid was not just the most reasonable, it was the most responsive and even saved me money by painting the ceiling for less than the popcorn removal company had quoted. I had about a week to get my house ready for sale - his team was like a well-oiled machine that split up the tasks and painted the whole house plus the kitchen cabinets in less than a week. The old maple kitchen cabinets were conscientiously sanded and primed and looked like new in a contemporary gray when they were done. Only took one open house to sell my house! After closing on my new place I had about a week to get it ready before moving in - once again, Ken's team was incredibly responsive and reasonably priced and I was able to move in on time. Not just responsive to tight schedules and reasonably priced but QUALITY work!!! read more

Ken and his team are amazing! I cannot say enough about them. After having a painter cancel with short notice more than once, I was thrilled when I was referred to Ken. He came out the day after my call and provided me with a very reasonable estimate. His crew arrived on time, were friendly, professional, and very clean. I was having trouble finding a paint color suitable for a nursery, and Ken suggested a color that is beautifully soothing. They also painted the front of our home. I couldn't remember the color we chose more than ten years ago, but Ken was able to match it up perfectly. I love my house! Thank you Ken and Team! I won't go anywhere else and would confidently recommend them to anyone looking for an excellent painting crew! read more

Painting by Ken painted my apartment at the request of my landlord. Good choice I told the landlord. Ken has been a friend of mine for years and is one of the best painter's I know. When my apartment was finished, one of my favorite parts was that there was no overwhelming smell of paint. It just looked fabulous as I knew it would! Ken is friendly, knowledgeable and extremely quick at what he does. It's always nice to know that the job will be done right! Thanks Ken! read more
